I actually think this is great. The first thing I do when reasonably sober is to check out exactly who is against the issue. In this case the ACLU has come out hard, Harry Reid, Kennedy and Kerry, and now Now is way pissed off so I know for a solid fact this guy needs to be on the court.

Unfortunately, I live in Nebraska so my senators are gangsta of the 14 member Nelson and super Rino Hagel. I will write them for all the good it does. Sometimes we can only hope common sense will win out. I would have said pray instead of hope but now we know how increadibly politically incorrect that is.

I think I understand whats happening but: what’s the issue here…is he a “stricr constructionist who will overturn Roe Vs Wade (and YES I did read the case, and I understand it..I think)

Will there be another uphill battle to get this nomination confirmed? Or does the President have the ability to tell them to shove it?

Can someone clue this novice Aussie in on EXACTLY what is going on here and what the process is?..we have a High Court too but WAY nowhere near the fuss this is stirring up…

But I just want to speak my mind on something…

I know W is responsible for any number of blunders- I am of the opinion that the war against Islamism (newly-declared at this late date though it is) has not been pursued with nearly as much vigor or prejudice as required- to name one rather important example.
I also do not agree with any number of planks constituting his alleged domestic “agenda”.

However- and this is my main point- I still remain convinced that in spite of faulty advisors and personal differences etc., that W is a good man, and has necessarily set us against the status-quo of the past in a very important way- no longer is it enough to clasp our hands and pray for stability in a place for which “stability” has meant (for so long unbeknownst to us) “Death to America”.

Bush will no doubt stumble again- although I wish they’d just declare war against Idiotarians- but I will most likely remain convinced of his ultimate rectitude. Let us not forget that (and I hope every librul moron reading this chokes on his -or her- own bile at this comparison) Winston Churchill was drummed out as a failure before the mission was seen through. W may also have to go down with the ship as long as whoever follows him understands that it’s not abortion or the Publik Skool Sistum that really matters right now- it’s the survival of Western Civ we’re talking about here.

I disagree with the R party on a number of levels- but I see the larger issues. Why can’t libruls do that?

you know, to be honest, this kind of stuff i really dont get it all, putting a judge on the Supreme Court and all the stuff they have to go threw, but i do understand that every single time a Republican President, especially with Bush Jr, that the stupid and vindicatave Dems. act like 10 year old girls having a temper tantrum and do nothing productive and just stonewall and delay for no good reason at all….they only delay cuase its a Republican…not because of their record, Christ, it could be Abraham Linclon re-incarnated up there, and the wussy Dems would cry and scream and kick their legs all because its a Republican up there…thats all….his record could be outstanding, they would still act like the jackasses they are….Fatass Kennedy, he needs to get back in bed and take a 40 year nap cuase it aint doing him any good….what a wate of human clay that man is, how is it that his liver hasnt failed him by now???….he must be pickled by all the alcohol he imbibes…..The Dems need to stop acting like little children throwing a temper tantrum when they dont get EVERYTHING they want and act like GROWNUPS….responsible growups at that….fucking dimwits Democrats….God to be able to do like Dane Cook says, to have a superpower to cover up assholes like the Dems with spaghetti, cause no one wants to be covered in spaghetti…HOT spaghetti at that….OUCH!!!

Dex, I am not sure a (single) female officer patting down the mother and daughter in a bathroom, out of sight of any of male officers constitutes “groping”. Do I like the idea of the police searching 10 year old girls for drugs? Not especially, but then I like the idea of Meth cooking fuckweasels stuffing meth into their kids clothes even less.

Well, she DID make them drop trou and bend over… Far as I’m concerned, the only time that’s justified is if you have a specific and immaculate warrant. I have to confess, here, that this is an issue for me. My response to an order to drop trou and turn around would be on the order of “Get near my ass and you’re dead, m#####f####r!”. Hell, my doctor’s not allowed there.

Re: Meth cooking fuckweasels: Ditch the War on Drugs. Legalize it all. Tax the stuff and sell it in liquor stores, 21 and older to buy. Use the taxes for rehabs and drug education. If someone ODs, or gets shot while robbing a house to support the habit, call it chlorine for the gene pool.
