LC Heather sent us this link on the anti-Bush, anti-free trade protests in Argentina.
Chavez was doing his usual Che Mussolini impersonation, ranting about the evils of capitalism.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez emerged as the most strident opponent of the plan, addressing a separate crowd of more than 10,000 peaceful protesters hours before the summit convened in this normally tranquil seaside resort.
Yeah, the TV is full of images of all the peaceful protesters doing their level best to level the city.
Chavez vowed to defeat the Free Trade Area of the Americas, or FTAA, once and for all. Speaking before a six-story banner of revolutionary Che Guevara, Chavez urged the throng — including soccer great Diego Maradona and Bolivian presidential hopeful Evo Morales — to help him fight free trade.
“Only united can we defeat imperialism and bring our people a better life,” he said, adding: “Here, in Mar del Plata, FTAA will be buried!”
Buried, we tell you! The hombre who kicks around a large round ball says so!
Before Chavez’s speech, demonstrators flooded the streets, shouting “Get out Bush!” and “Fascist Bush! You are the terrorist!”
They scream all this while rapturously supporting a Venezuelan gumba that’s modeling his economic reforms of the pre-war Italian Fascist Party.
Mexican President Vicente Fox said the FTAA proposal would move forward anyway because 29 of the 34 nations taking part in the summit were considering cobbling together their own FTAA — without opponents Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
It seems the dysfunctional socialist five can go join with Cuba and form their own trading block, one based on the barter system if Chavez oil giveaways are any indication. They can use seashells and beads for currency, allowing them to buy and sell crude oil which they can transport in little clay pots.
Meanwhile, we’ll just trade with the other 29 nations.

This would be the same Diego Maradona who spent several months if not years in a Cuban Drug Rehab Center for the Rich with his buddy Fidel cozing-up to him; right.
This would be the same Evo Morales who is leading the Bolivian Indians in road blockages and anti-government riots demanding the right to grow Coca Leaves, the main ingredient in Cocaine; right.
Well, I would say that Chavez is in good company; with these grat upstanding gentlemen, models of greatness.

[…] With the irrelevant protectionist paleocons screeching about the evils of free trade and battling capitalism and the free market, I find it interesting that our Marxist neighbor to the south is howling the same tune. […]

Chavez is ripe for an aircraft “accident”. You know, the kind where the shoulder-fired missle rips through the fuselage and explodes? Yeah, that kind of accident!

I’m not sure who’s worse here.
November 5th, 2005 at 9:46 amChavez is a useless socialist shitstain while Fox is just a useless corrupt shitstain.
But, at least Fox gives W somewhere to rest his lips.

Would someone please explain the facination that “an un-named culture” has with dictators. Even in the “mother country”, Franco ruled until his death just 30yrs ago.I mean why is it when some hombre gets a .45, he becomes Generalisimo El Jefe Grande Presidente Comandante for Life ? And as someone pointed out recently after 40years still in revolution. (rhetorical question # 37)

I say, do not trade with commies, let the stupid bastards die from their own idiocy. I cannot believe that so many people, faced with facts, still insist on fucking the dead whore that is communism. I have no sympathy for them. To borrow a phrase from the Kos-Kunts, “screw’em”. These people obviously want to be slaves. Let them rot.

Only overwelemed by there allies, the mmose limb jihadi fucks.
Sort of like the strange bed fellows of Germany ,and Japan 50 years ago.
Good thing the Japanese were afraid of Russia after there drubbing in the West of Russia. The lack of attack let the Russkis send troops from the West, and armor to fight the Germans in the East.
Cheers NVE

I think this “free-trade agreement” will cause even more illegal aliens in America. Enough with this “one world” garbage, lets everyone tend to their own knitting, as my granny would say.

So true. NAFTA and CAFTA are just another avenue to destroy or sovereignty while having American workers compete against slave wages and no regulations from third world countries. Gee, that’s sounds like a good deal for our workers. You are absolutely right Rowane, this is about a one world order and unfortunately Bush has bought into this. He wants a unified North/South America. That’s why all the talk about sealing up our borders is a bunch of bullshit. Ill believe it when I see it.

Yeah, I’ll beleive it when I see it. Our small town here in Arkansas is over-run with illegal mexicans and the police never do anything about it. The Police Blotter in the local paper has dozens of arrests, mostly for drunk driving or no liscense, and yet there is never any word of any of them being deported.
What in Hell happened to the America I was raised in? This sure as Hell isn’t it anymore. Its swiftly becoming impossible for an honest American to even find work around here, all the employers have taken to hiring 4 mexishits for the price of one American. They’re even working in the factories without anything other than patently false papers.
What I’d do for an America where a man could be a man again, none of this “sensitive” bullshit we’ve heard since the 70’s. We need to take our country BACK from the multiculti idiots, the homos, and the short-haired women and make it a place safe for families again. I’ve been seeing trouble on the horizon for years, but its getting to the point that the only way out of this rut our country seems to have fallen in to is violence and, while I wouldn’t mind that, there are a lot of innocent people who would be hurt and that I don’t like.
We MUST vote out these multiculti dems and neovoreps from their comfy little government jobs and put real leaders back in them, the Supreme Court is a nice start, but we also need congress, the house, and the presidency.
VOTE AGAINST MULTI-CULTRALISM WHENEVER POSSIBLE AND HELP SAVE OUR GREAT COUNTRY!!

With all due respect, as much as I despise Hugo Chavez (D-Venezuela), we as conservatives should oppose the FTAA for our own reasons.
As some commenters before noted this “Free Trade” agreement is anything but “Free Trade.” It is simply W’s socialist streak coming out in that he seeks to destroy the sovereignty of this country. It is painful to realize that, but every time I see a CSPAN video of W grovelling before the Useless Nitwits, it gets a bit easier to accept.
W doesn’t support free trade, as he is, deep down, a globalist socialist. Chavez is a Communist. We are simply witnessing the struggle between two flavors of Marxism, one internal, one external, but both seeking to destroy our strength, or at the very least to put us at the mercy of Kofi Annan’s blue-helmetted genocide enablers.
