Twas the week of Katrina, when all through the South
Not a soldier was stirring, not even to grouse;
The black folks were stuck in the Superdome gloom,
In the hopes that some buses would come for them soon.

The children were hungry, awaiting the feds,
While visions of looter bums danced in their heads;
And mama in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down to watch late News Nite wrap,

When out of the coverage there arose such a ruckus
I sprang from my couch to see what was the muck up.
Away to the laptop I flew like a flash,
Fired up the browser and pulled up the cache.

The loons on the desk of the news-item show
Raved at FEMA and W for things bein’ slow.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But thousands of blogs, and a story quite queer,

With the little bold bloggers, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be quite thick.
More rapid than Eagles their discourses came,
And I whistled and shouted and called them by name;

“Now, WIZBANG! now, WHITTLE! now, CAPTAIN and MALKIN!
On, MISHA! on SENSING! on, COX and FORKUM!
To the top of the Page! to the top of them all!
Now bash away! bash away! bash away all!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, blast to the sky,
So up to the news-top the bloggers they flew,
With a spray full of verbs, and some adjectives too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on TV
The hemming and hawing of each little proof.
As I drew in my hand, and was flipping around,
Down the cable the new stories came with a bound.

Blanco pressed all too far, with her whine and her hoot,
And her glow got all tarnished when truth came to roost;
A bundle of writs she had flung from her desk,
and spat out like flotsam, washed up with the rest.

Her sneer – how it wrinkled! Her stumbles how sorry!
Her bleats were like poses, her notes quite contrary!
Her droll little pout was drawn up like a “no”,
The word she’d used often, when asked for a “go”.

The Guard, like a right, she held tight in her teeth,
And the power encircled her head like a wreath;
She had a bad case, and one that sounded quite daft,
It shook, when she gaffed, like a armload of graft.

She was chubby and plump, a right ditsy old gov,
But when times called for pulling, she started to shove;
A blink of her eye and a twist of her head,
Things ground to a halt, she abandoned the dead.

She spoke not a word that would unleash the feds,
Nor fill all the stockings, nor get kids to bed;
Not busing her people ahead of the flood,
or giving them food in a city of mud.

She froze in a crisis, and we blew the whistle,
And way late the press too, like a heat-seeking missile.
But I heard her exclaim, ere she spoke out of spite,
“NEW ORLEANS HAS FLOODED,
LAST ONE TURN OUT THE LIGHTS!”

    Reuters strikes again!

    Check out this photograph.

    An obviously photoshopped piece of crap!

    OMG! Bush has to take a piss! Stop the presses!

    Nevermind that the top half of the “note” isn’t Bush’s handwriting. He uses a more “illegible” cursive style as can be seen in the bottom half of the note.

    And no, it isn’t Condi’s writing either. She writes in cursive as well.

    They must be hitting the crack pipe pretty hard over at Reuter-Rooters to be passing this crap off as “journalism”.

    Well Done George !!!!

    As a former career professional in the Emergency Planning Racket (private industy not govt bureaucrat, but I did interface with FEMITES on a daily basis) the bullshit crossing the airwaves over this situation was nothing less than astonishing. NOBODY with the exception of O’Reilly wanted to do even a little bit of research. Not that research and fact checking are subjects journjizmers are the slightest bit interested in. I predicted the race-card play spot-on to the day. I haven’t had the time or enough Xanax on hand to even weigh in on this issue as the current deep undercover special assignment gig on midnight shift is taking it’s toll on this middle-aged body. I couldn’t help noticing this nice little tidbit…

    hat tip to NewsMax…

    Louis Farrakhan: Levees Were ‘Blown Up’

    Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is telling his followers that the levees in New Orleans may have been deliberately “blown up” to kill the city’s black population.

    The influential preacher was in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday, where he detailed his Hurricane Katrina conspiracy theory.

    “I heard from a very reliable source who saw a 25 foot deep crater under the levee breach,” Farrakhan explained. “It may have been blown up to destroy the black part of town and keep the white part dry.”

    Farrakhan didn’t say who he thought was behind the plot to blow up New Orleans’ levees. (my comment: of course we all know it was the eeevvilllll jooooos)

    The Muslim minister also blasted both FEMA and the Red Cross, saying their response to Katrina victims after the levees were blown up was inadequate.

    Thanks all!

    I could’ve gone for the Paul Revere version

    Listen my childen and you shall hear
    Of the awful flood that happened here,
    On twenty nine August, in two-thousand and five;
    Hardly a man is now alive
    Who remembers the crazies looting beer.

    or maybe Gordon Lightfoot.

    The legend lives on in New Orleans old town
    Of the big lake they called Ponchatrina
    The lake, it is said, ever fills us with dread
    When the skies of September turn gloomy.
    .. . .. . .
    With the surge of a storm – four or five fathoms or more
    Than the levees and floodwalls can handle
    A good breach or two was a doom to be rued
    When the gales of September came early.

    The town was the pride of the engineers’ trade
    Holding back the high tides and the river
    As the big projects go it was bigger than most
    With the walls and the levees well seasoned.

    Yet breaching some berms with a couple of churns
    Water gouged out the ground from the bottom
    And later that night when the sirens wailed
    Could it be the big breach they’d been fearing.

    The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound
    And a wave surged staight through the levee
    And every man knew, as all engineers do
    Twas the end of New Orleans he’s seeing.

    The dawn broke clear but the breakfast had to wait.
    When the water it just kept on rising.
    When afternoon came it was still pouring in
    With the ranks of the refugees swelling.

    When supper time came the old cook was a wreck
    Saying fellows we got naught to feed ya
    At 7PM the main crisis ‘came clear
    He said fellas it’s been good to know ya.

    The mayor wired in he had water coming in
    And the big town he knew was in peril
    And later that night when no lights were in sight
    Came the hell of the Superdome shelter.

    Does anyone know where the love of gov goes
    When no aid turns the minutes to hours.
    The searchers all say they’d have had less delay
    If the gov’nor would ignore her minders.

    blah blah blah.

    It’s a long song to finish.

    Jackboot, compare the e-mail adress you used to register here to the one you used to register at Gravatar.com

    They both have to match exactly.

    “case sensitive” errors are the most common mistake.

    e-mail used at The Rott. - moonbatmauler@yahoo.com

    = No Gravatar

    As far as I am concerned. this N.O. fiasco would have been better handled if the Feds were racists, then they would have assumed the Mayor and the citizens were too irresponsible, ignorant and out of control to deal with it and they would have taken over immediately.

  35. Unregistered Comment by maxxdog UNITED STATES

    Still the little issue of the Constitution to deal with. The locals and state are responsible for 1st response and the people are responsible to elect officials who will provide that response not line their own pockets. Corruption in LA is almost a matter of pride with these people, perhaps they will take their responsibilities more seriously and elect competent people instead of the shitbirds they have in the past.

    Corruption in LA is almost a matter of pride with these people, perhaps they will take their responsibilities more seriously and elect competent people instead of the shitbirds they have in the past.

    Why would they?

    President Milquetoast himself went on record the other night, stating that it was all “rooted in racism” and that all of the rest of us had to pony up and pay the bill.

    I found myself wondering if he’d hired Kanye West as a speech writer.

    Anyway, as long as there are no consequences to fuckups, don’t expect the fuckups to end, and it’s pretty damn obvious by now that the only consequences to the Nawlins FUBAR of 2005 will be borne by the wallets of you and I.
