It’s really not surprising that it’s so difficult to discern a difference. The debate with Galloway, an unabashed supporter of the Arab National Socialist Ba’ath party, was sponsored by Pacifica Radio, which was founded by the pro-Nazi Americans who staged anti-Lend Lease rallies in Berkeley prior to WW-II, before throwing in with Stalin. Thank goodness their Stalinists were ousted by the Maoists, proving that pacifists chose dictators to support based on objective brutality, as measured by the fill rate of mass graves. Nor is it surprising that Cindy Sheehan is drawing support from noted Neo-Nazis David Duke and StormFront. No wonder Rove called her a clown.
As for Al-Zarqawi, he’s their hero.

I am wodering if Chris Hitchens, with all his excellent points, is too soft-spoken and intelligentniy (as they say in Russia) to take a stand against a firebrand like Galloway.

It isn’t the “money” part of the contest against Communism/Socialism that bothers me. That becomes self evident just as soon as you have to go out into the real world and make a real living.
It’s the fact that they have infested, and maintained, a hold on a goodly portion of Academe and The Media. The reason this shit goes on and on, ad nauseum, is that they get a hold of the kids in school and indoctrinate them. They have our kids for 8 hours a day away from the influence of parents and have literally free reign in what they try to force into their heads.
Is it any wonder that conspiracy theories prosper and the stupidity of Sheehan, Moore et al continue unabated?
When the kids get out of school in the evening, what happens? They look at the news and entertainment media and find that THEY are justifying and solidifying what they have been told in school.
The school system requires clening out before the media. Parents have SOME control over what

Because those who gave their due to the “let’s redo the world” notion in their younger years are not the only ones. Because, behind the veil of anti-globalism, islamism and many other “-isms” is the same true and tried idea “if you feel you don’t have something, it is a good enough reason to go and take it from someone else”. Because that is what is standing behind all that scientific-like gobbledygook: a justification for burglary.

Oh my God, I’m ashamed to be a New Yorker, though I’m encouraged by the booing of Galloway’s statement that what happened on 9/11 was OUR fault.
Does anyone notice the contradictions in Galloway’s line of…hey, I can’t call it “thought”…demagoguery. Has anyone noticed all he does is yell?
He claims he’s for freedom, yet went to Syria. He tells us that it’s AMERICA’S fault that there are tyrants and murderers in the Middle East, but he goes to Syria and takes money from Saddam. He ignores the FACT that most of the “insurgents” are foreign and Islamists. He says he’s for freedom, and implied (I think) that the Iraqis WANTED Saddam Hussein as a leader. THAT’S what makes this an OCCUPATION? Is he claiming Saddam was elected? Honestly? He says he’s against Islamists, but then he supports the terorists murdering thousands of Iraqis, Kurds, and civilians from all over the world, including his own COUNTRY? Moreover, these are the same terrorists who OPENLY boast that they want the whole world to be under sha’aria law, boast while they’re cutting off heads with KNIVES?!!He IGNORES all the money that the US is pouring into building schools, hospitals, an army, a police force, electrical grids, water…We haven’t taken a drop of oil from them.
He’s a cheap demagogue who yells, descends - well, maybe in his case, he can’t really descend, since he’s so low to begin with - to personal attacks, instead of real arguments.

Galloway reminds me of those euros that collaborated with the nazis during the first part of WW2.
They figured that they’d leech on to “the winning side” to cover their asses.
He must figure that Islam will prevail so he wants to “toadie up” to every radical muslim group/nation/kook.
