Bush, in his dealing with […] the devastating Hurricane Katrina, which revealed to the entire world the great helplessness in dealing with the destruction caused by this hurricane, because of the tremendous attrition of the American army’s resources in Iraq and Afghanistan. This hurricane has once again brought to mind the manifestations of racial discrimination among the American people, and has exposed the fragility of the foundations upon which it is structured. The acts of assault and killings have spread, as well as robbery and looting, and what is still to come will be even more terrible.
Obviously, the DNC has Abu Mus’ab Al-Zarqawi’s fax number. Or maybe it’s the other way around. At any rate, the message is identical.
So if “dissent is patriotic” and the Democrats are “dissenting” and, as we can clearly see, the Democrats’ “dissent” is identical to Abu Mus’ab Al-Zarqawi’s, then — logically — Al-Zarqawi is a great American “patriot”, at least by the definition of the Loony Left. We wouldn’t be surprised to hear them call him that either. They’re already hailing him as a “freedom fighter” and a “minute man”, after all, so “patriot” shouldn’t be too far off.
We also have to find out who came up with the talking points first. If they were the DNC’s creation originally, then the DNC are “providing aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States in times of war” by providing him with propaganda material and if they are Zarqawi’s intellectual (for lack of a better word) property, then the DNC are taking their marching orders from a foreign potentate and sworn enemy of the United States.
Anyway, we just wanted you to know that you needn’t feel bad if you can’t seem to tell the difference between what comes out of the DNC and what is barked by a koranimal lunatic from a cave in some Islamic shithole.
There isn’t one.

I’ve spoken with my father about this sort of thing before, he was born in ‘38 and raised in a “simpler time”. People like the DNC steering committee, leftist organizations, and the self-styled “reporters” of the MSM would have been lined up against a wall and shot. Probably long before it ever got around to trial. We need to get back to a “simpler time” and bitch-slap those who want us to “nuance” everything.
So when are they giving Zarqawi his Nobel Peace Prize?

This is one reason why I almost can’t stomach visiting this site anymore…it puts too much wishful thinking in my head over stuff that will never happen….

Probably more like…
Clinton - Zarqawi ‘08
(…what…a little constitutional impediment like that?? Piffle!)
And William J. as Secy State.
I’ve got your wishful thinking right here. It’s on Elm Street!

I’ve seen some polls lately that seem to indicate that the Donks may make gains in the ‘06 Senate races. Anyone think this is true or represents a problem for the GOP?
To be honest, the GOP pisses me off as much as they make me happy, but the alternative never makes me happy.

Given the full court press in the media to bash Bush and the GOP, I’m taking these polls with a grain of salt.
It seems that in every year running up to an election cycle since 2000, “polls show” the democrats making substantial gains only to turn out wrong.
2002 - “Polls showed” that voters were pissed off at President Chimpy for stealing the election so they were going to show their wrath by giving the House and Senate back to the democrats. Jeb Bush was also supposed to be run out of Florida.
RESULT - GOP gains seats in the House and Senate. Jeb Bush is re-elected. Liberal moonbats shriek and seethe in dismay.
2004 - “Polls showed” that voters were pissed off at President Chimpy for getting us involved in a quagmire/illegal and unjust war in Iraq so they were going to show their wrath by giving the House and Senate back to the democrats. Dubya was also supposed to be run out of the White House.
RESULT - GOP gains seats in the House and Senate. George W. Bush is re-elected. Liberal moonbats shriek and seethein dismay and almost suicidal despair.
Remember the exit poll fiasco? That has got be the most hilarious thing in politics I’ve ever seen.
The democrats made the mistake of believing their own loaded polls. Watching their honks of victory and gloating turn into shrieks of disbelief and incredulity had me ROFLMAO.
To sum it up, the “unbiased media” is so desperate to get democrats back in the majority, they’ll stoop to anything.
Given their antics in the last few years, I sure as hell not going to believe any of their polls.
It’s just a transparent attempt to buck up the moonbat faithful and discourage conservatives.
I wouldn’t be surprised if “polls show” democrats getting a supermajority in the House and Senate only to have it turn out as it usually does…
The democrats and their moonbat bretheren are that desperate.

I hope you are right. I suspect you are, but I do believe that their is some growing dissatisfaction with the GOP over the out of control spending habits they seem to be unable to get rid of, and the border situation, and the perception of a horrible situation in Iraq.
That the Donks would make everything worse might not enter into people’s calculus, unless the GOP starts getting smart about the message.

DG,
I think the dissatisfaction is spread across the board to include all the politicians, both republican and democrat.
The media is most likely spinning it so it looks like the dissatifaction is with the GOP.
People are growing weary of the political “business as usual”.
The democrats aren’t helping their cause with the likes of Cindy Sheehan and Howard Dean speaking for them.
I think that the most likely scenario is that “the balance of power” will stay the same after the 2006 elections.
At best, one side or the other might gain a seat or two but nothing earthshaking.
At least the GOP has some kind of “plan” whether people agree or disagree with it.
The democrats have nothing except “Bush and Rove are evil and must be destroyed”. They have no alternative to the way the GOP is doing things except “raise taxes on the rich” and “cut and run” in Iraq.
Any “foward thinking” (sane) democrats will be quickly silenced by the liberal moonbats infesting that party.
Just my gut instinct but who knows?
A lot can happen in a year…..

I’m with Eman on the subject of polls, DG.
Ever since the media openly declared themselves a wholly owned subsidiary of the DNC, polls have become utterly worthless (not that they were worth that much before, mind you) and if they should turn out to be occasionally right in the future, it’s not a result of real analysis on the pollers’ part. The name for that would be “Stopped Clock Syndrome.”
Now, on the subject of the ‘06 elections I’m not so sure.
I wouldn’t be too surprised to see some emerging blowback against the Party of Stupid.
We (the conservative base) handed them the Presidency in ‘00. We got it up the ass as a “thank you.”
We handed them the Senate in ‘02. We got it up the ass as a “thank you.”
We handed them the Presidency again AND improved their hold on the Senate in ‘04. We got it up the ass as a “thank you.”
Eventually some of us are going to reach the point where our assholes are too sore for us to bend over and grab our ankles again. The Party of Stupid are vastly misunderestimating the level of resentment among their base at being taken for granted and the “The Other Guy is Much Worse” ploy isn’t going to work forever, particularly when it seems more and more that there isn’t much of a difference between “The Other Guy” and whomever the Party of Letting the Minority Rule™ endorses.
No, I don’t expect to see a mass exodus of conservative voters, “cutting off your nose to spite your face” isn’t something we’re known for doing, but I can easily imagine local races where the alternatives aren’t as far apart as, say, Bush and Kerry.
Yes, some of us are seriously pissed off and it won’t take much for us to switch to another candidate.
And the Party of Stupid have only themselves to thank for that.

The Emperor is right.
The problem is that we’re stuck voting either for The Party of Stupid or The Party of “Stupider” er, Even More Stupid.
The field consists of stodgy, spineless, ass-kissing, party hacks (republicans) or shrieking, psychotic, conspiracy-mongering moonbats. (democrats)
Decisions, decisions……
