From the same site back in March of this year Robert Samuelson had an excellent commentary that’s worth perusing: Why U.S. Doesn’t Need Guest Workers
For me the money line of Samuelson’s piece was the following: “The most lunatic notion is that admitting more poor Latino workers would ease the labor market strains of retiring baby boomers. The two simply aren’t close substitutes for each other. Among immigrant Mexican and Central American workers in 2004, only 7 percent had a college degree and nearly 60 percent lacked a high-school diploma, says the Congressional Budget Office. Far from softening the social problems of an aging society, more poor immigrants might aggravate them by pitting older retirees against younger Hispanics for limited government benefits.“…

None the less if Rove, Bush, Kennedy, Kerry and the rest of the mad hatters for wetbacks want them here so bad why don’t they open up their wallets and pay for the high costs of these supposedly useful people for being here?

Having grown up in New Mexico, I have more than a passing familiarity with La Raza (Unida).
These are the folks that attacked the TA courthouse in Rio Arriba Co in 1968-ish. IIRC they took a deputy hostage and basically shot the place up. Also responsible for firebombing homes and commercial establishments. They ran lots of dope up by Wilcox and were the cause of much violent crime. I ran into these yobs a few times, when I lived up there in ‘75-’77. It was considered bad manners to go out after dark unarmed, so I comported myself accordingly. Gringos not welcome, eh.
Essentially terrorists at the time, maybe they have rehabilitated themselves, but I doubt it.

Just sent a letter to the RNC telling them to take me outta their databases. Told ‘em I wouldn’t send money to the DNC ’cause Bobby Byrd supported the KKK. Now, I couldn’t support the RNC as they support the racist La Raza.

Something is very wrong when someone like Rove goes a-courting a group that clearly doesn’t understand E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Whether they’re fringe or not, they don’t understand that in the United States of America, your “race” or “nationality” or “color” doesn’t matter - AS LONG AS YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF AN AMERICAN FIRST AND FOREMOST and ANY group which prefers to “define” itself as something other than AMERICAN just doesn’t BELONG HERE.

“La Raza,” my ass-a. I’ve been putting up with these culos pendejos ever since I can remember. They were spray painting “Chicano Power” (which I deliberately mis-pronounce as ‘Chi-KANE-Oh Power’) since junior high school. I still think that a pincer move through Veracruz and Acapulco would focus their attention on what’s really important.
