Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler » Saved By The Bell

I was just about to retire and go to bed, it’s rather late after all, but thanks to a tip from LC Robert Huntingdon we were saved from a fate worse than death which is, as we all know, a condemnation from St. Glenn Blowhard the Impeccable, which might have resulted in me being forever denied the opportunity to appear on Puffball Hardball or even, Heaven forfend, a reach-around from Ted Kennedy! It turns out that Ann Coulter said the following in her latest column:

Channeling Anthony Lewis this week, Frank Rich claims the Bush administration has “manufactured and milked this controversy to reboot its intimidation of the press, hoping journalists will pull punches in an election year.”

Rich’s evidence of the brutal crackdown on the press was the statement of San Francisco radio host Melanie Morgan — who, by the way, is part of the press — proposing the gas chamber for the editor of the Times if he were found guilty of treason, which happens to be the punishment prescribed by law. (Once again Frank Rich finds himself in over his head when not writing about gay cowboy movies.)

I prefer a firing squad, but I’m open to a debate on the method of execution. A conviction for treason would be assured under any sensible legal system.

I hope and pray that I’m still beating the deadline, oh Sainted Glenn, for the consequences of not making it would be too horrible to contemplate. Heck, I might even be seen as “mean” or even “inconsiderate” so, in hopes that I may find your G-dlike mercy, I offer the following:

I, in the strongest terms possible, unequivocally and without any reservation, condemn Ann Coulter for suggesting that traitors should be prosecuted and executed in accordance with the law. I desperately wanted for that to be my next post, but the hateful woman beat me to it! A pox on you, Ann, a vicious, mean pox!

My only consolation is that you, too, will be forever denied the joys of having wonderful moderates such as Keith Olbermann kiss your posterior.

Oh, and Glenn the Barely Literate Greenwald will be on your ass like white on rice (is that racist? “White”, I mean? If so, please don’t hesitate to condemn it), if he can beat the Wimposphere to it, that is.

Woe is you, Ann.

    like white on rice

Only if the rice under discussion is brown rice, Boss.

Although, now that i think about it for, oh, two and half seconds, it IS racist, since there is brown rice in the world, (or could be, so I am told!), and, (according to the Moonbat Journal of Wankettenitions!, “Referring to “white”, when there is ANY other color of that same item, either in existence or theorized or imagined, at any time, past, present, or future, by any Right Wing Death Beast o’ Doom, (such as Emperor Darth Misha I, or Lady Heather, or, or, or, just ANY of them!!!! Is automatically as racist as the EEEVIL Hurrican Control Ray that flooded NawLins!”

    Hope this helps!

[S]ince there is brown rice in the world, (or could be, so I am told!)…

Yes, there is, & it’s what I usually cook when I do rice. Presumably more nutritional value, but it takes longer to prepare. Probably more popular in the South.

According to Glenn Greenwald, this is a right-wing site that uses over-the-top rhetoric. Mmm…okay. It’s a little like saying you’ve discovered this great city between Washington and Philadelphia called Baltimore. Yes, it’s nice. But it’s NOT NEWS.

BTW, how are all my friends here? Unfortunately, with all the effort in registering, I don’t have time to satire troll here.

Hope you’re all well. Keep the faith. Go. Fight. Win.

Oh damn! Ms. Coulter does it again!
The level of intimidation I had in mind is more along the lines of how President Dwight D. Eisenhower “intimidated” Julius and Ethel Rosenberg at 8 in the morning, June 19, 1953“…

I can almost hear the whining getting ready to surface from the left again…

Don’t you think this whole thing is a bit silly? Aren’t there more important things to talk about? When did you start caring about how others perceive your writing style?

Most of us that have been around the political blogosphere knows that you have the flair and gift for rhetorical writing. Rope, Tree, and some hapless person is pretty much a trademark that shows your displeasure for someone or something. The serious person reading it does not take it for incitation to actually carry it out. If that were the case, I would have been blathering about it myself on my site a long time ago.

Instead, I would rather stick to the issues and not the personalities of those who don’t really want to talk about the issues.

Allyn, I think that’s what it was about, that they couldn’t find their ass with their hands.

I have seen this over-reaction on both sides of the blogosphere. It’s rhetorical writing, and should be easily recognized as such. Sure, there are some sites like Phred Phelch who actually believes in his toxic spew, but those sites are VERY obvious and there is nothing rhetorical about it.

I think the thing that tires people out is when politics becomes more a war on the different personalities than it does on discussing the actual issues. BOTH sides do it, and all it tends to do is drive people away from talking about the issues itself.

We wonder why our “leaders” seem so detached from the rest of us. It is because this government of “we the people” no longer has any real participation by the people. Only the few that can stomach the partisan attacks participate. The rest just gave up. So we wind up with what we have now.

Am I making any sense here? I am on painkillers right now and it is hard to really focus.

It’s long, it’s intricate, and frankly, nobody has time. Just slap an LC in front of your name and we will call it good.

I think the thing that tires people out is when politics becomes more a war on the different personalities than it does on discussing the actual issues. BOTH sides do it, and all it tends to do is drive people away from talking about the issues itself.

Dave,I don’t think there was an issue to begin with. glenn decided that wanting to hang 5 dictators from the bench was equal to wanting a two year old child to get kidnapped, sexually abused, and then murdered.

frisch is a frickin loon and everyone with half a gram of decency should have piled on her to shut her up. Or at least condemned what she said. glenn did neither as far as I can see. Instead he is trying to morally equivalate what Misha said about the supreams to what frisch said about the protein guy’s kid.

Frankly, the kid is an innocent. The supreams are far from innocent.

  13. LC RobertHuntingdon Comment by LC RobertHuntingdon

No kidding, DK. Even giving lunatic debtard the benefit of the doubt and assuming she was intending only joking hyperbole, there STILL is no equivalence. Joking about molesting and killing an innocent two-year-old child, utterly contemptible lunacy. Joking about killing some traitor-tyrants who DID commit a crime?… could be considered rude or stupid or even overly harsh… but NOT lunacy or contemptible.

If you can’t figure that much out, then you are either a blind partisan hack who refuses to see past the left vs right crap, or you are a total idiot without a brain. And you yourself are then a barmy numpty grotty minging wanker.

Of course I think it’s silly, Deej, which is the reason that I’m writing about it. It gives me something to mercilessly mock and ridicule. As to how that vapid vaporbrain Ms Glenn perceives my writing style, I couldn’t care less.

Except when he fails to get it in such a spectacularly craptastic fashion that it leaves him wide open to ridicule.

But I assure you that it’ll pass. As soon as I stop having fun making fun of his microscopic wit and delusions of adequacy, which shouldn’t take long. Heck, he wouldn’t be fun to deride to begin with if it wasn’t because he suffers from that hilarious combination of being as dumb as a box of wet hamster turds while being a Legend In His Own Mind™.

Glenn Greenwald is a confessed lawyer (which would be enough to guarantee him a spot on the gibbet in a just world), and wouldn’t know superb, satiric hyperbole, especially the brand for which his Rottiness is justly famous, if it flew up his ample, pinstriped ass.

Oh Dear, truly disconcerted, they are…those poor moonbats……just can’t seem to understand why we won’t beg their indulgence or ask for forgiveness. Yes, the exalted minions…I listen to Melanie Morgan regularly, quite a pistol she is. Ann Coulter calls ‘em as she sees ‘em,, and I love her for it. I must confess though, I do agree that the editors of the Times shouldn’t be hung or gassed. That would be inhumane. They should be shot instead, far more merciful and quick.
