You know, we are frequently exasperated with our Commander-in-Chief and his lack of clarity and resolve on any number of issues, but then every once in a while he comes along and says something like this (click the video or die).

And then His Majesty finds himself wondering why the Hades Dubya can’t be like that all the time.

Not since his famous, astute and entirely accurate evaluation of NYT reporter Adam Clymer’s assholiness back in 2000, we tell you. We wish that he’d forget that his mic was live more often, because that’s when he’s at his best by far.

Right on!

UPDATE: The Empress, after having carefully and slowly explained the reasons to us (necessary at times, we regretfully admit), points out that we really shouldn’t be all that pleased with the President’s comment. As a matter of fact, it’s pretty outrageous. To compare the actions or indeed the very existence of Hezbollah and Syria with shit is a huge, mortal, unforgivable insult to fecal matter.

UPDATE the 2nd: A proud member of the Excremental Community just showed up in the InstaBark, demanding that we issue an apology to it and its extended family and fellow sewage-Americans for our shameless endorsement of the notion that they, in any way, are equal in putrescence with Hezbollah and Syria. We have no choice but to agree. Our most profound apologies. We don’t know WHAT we were thinking. Please forgive us.

Clymer worked in relative obscurity until September 4, 2000, when Bush and running mate Dick Cheney appeared at a campaign event at Naperville, Illinois. While on stage prior to the event, Bush said to Cheney, “There’s Adam Clymer, major league asshole from the New York Times.” Cheney responded, “Oh yeah, he is, big time.” I believe is what Misha is talking about.

    ‘Zactly, dawnsblood.

The absolute BEST part about that was the aftermath, when the testosterone-deficient, metrosexual MSM threw one hissy fit after another over his comment while America cheered and Bush’s poll numbers showed a strange, sudden bump upwards.

Did the MSM take the hint and realize that maybe, just maybe a large part of their prospective subscribers agreed with the President, that maybe they weren’t quite the legends that they’d always been in their own minds?

    Heck no.

They threw yet another pity party for themselves instead, whining like spanked little children over the “insult” to their noble selves.

Looking at their ever declining value on the stock market, they still don’t get it.

The only problem I have with Bush’s comment is that he should have added Iran to the list. At least Bush did publicly blame both Iran and Syria for the attacks on Israel a couple of days ago, from the very podium of the G-8 summit.

It’s still a good thing to hear from the President. Especially since it’s driving the Left into a tizzy. Actually, some of the libs seem to be making a bigger deal out of the President’s lapse into profanity than the continuing Hezbollah and Hamas attacks on Israel…which, I suppose, is only to be expected.

How’s this for some, “straight talk” thanks to Power Line blog?
In an obscene attempt to obtain political mileage, the Democrats are claiming that President Bush is responsible for the outbreak of war in the Middle East. Howard Dean claims that the war would not have occurred if the Democrats had been in power because the Dems would have worked the past six years to prevent it. And Sen. Dodd has made basically the same assertion. Meanwhile, Rep. Jane Harman contends that the Bush administration is to blame for our poor to non-existent relations with Syria and Iran which, she says, prevent us from using diplomacy to end the crisis.

Straight talk alright! Straight from the looney bin…

It involves several Muslim cities including Alamut, Baghdad, and Damascus, and some really goth cranial pyramids.

Here’s a good balanced response to the “Shit” comment

Murhaf Jouejati, director of Mideast Studies at George Washington University, had more to say about the implications of Bush’s comment than on the profanity used.
What astonished me most is that President Bush wants Hezbollah to lay down its arms and stop attacking,” said Jouejati. “That statement is embedded in idiocy. If US diplomacy in the region has failed, it is because the US wants to be the judge, jury and executioner. The US is no longer an honest broker — if it ever was.

Why how dare the eeevil Booooosh tell the hezballsacks to stop attacking. They have every right to kill innocent women and children. It’s their birth right….

Their eight years under Mr. Cigar did almost as much to CREATE the problem as the four years the country suffered under Mr. Peanut.

Nothing would have changed? Maybe, maybe not. My money is on that 9/11 would have been delayed a year or two and been 20 times worse when they finally pulled it off.
