We just found out, via LC & IB Bluto, that airstrikes on Hezbollah have resumed:
JERUSALEM (AP) - Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Monday, hours after agreeing to temporarily halt raids while investigating a bombing that killed nearly 60 Lebanese civilians, mostly women and children seeking shelter.
Women, minorities hardest hit, yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blech. Not to in any way suggest that the loss of life isn’t tragic, the deaths of civilians always are, but we’d be interested in knowing just how many of the victims were actually in the building when it was hit as opposed to 8 hours later when it “collapsed”, not to mention how many of them were actually there seeking shelter as opposed to being led there at gunpoint by Hezbollah in order to create another Pallywood Production™. OK, so maybe not all of them were led there at gunpoint. Some of them might actually have been carried there after their deaths.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert agreed to a 48-hour halt in the airstrikes beginning at 2 a.m. Monday while the military concludes its inquiry into the attack on the south Lebanese village of Qana.
He didn’t “agree to” anything, he simply declared one. Bonus Goebbels Points™ to the Assnugget Propagandists for taking a unilateral declaration of ceasefire and twisting it into something reluctantly “agreed to”.
But Israel left open the option it might hit targets to stop imminent attacks or if the military completed its inquiry within 48 hours.
Didn’t take long to uncover that little Pallywood Production™, did it? Whatever else they might be, Leni Riefenstahl they ain’t.
We are, of course, happy to be proven right about the Qana Qlusterfuck (or at least it looks like we were right), but we’re even happier to find out that Israel hasn’t decided to cave to the “international community’s” demands that they just hunker down and accept daily rocket attacks as a fact of life.
Yalla ya, Nasrallah, we’ll screw you insh’allah!
