We’re Shocked, SHOCKED, We Tell You! (UPDATED)

Remember Judge Anna Diggs Taylor, the “justice” that recently found in favor of the ACLU (the NSA “wiretapping” case) and wrote an opinion so ridiculously riddled with idiocy that it has legal scholars from both sides of the issue giggling like schoolgirls and slapping their thighs?
Well guess what? LC & IB Gateway Pundit has a story to tell.
It turns out that “justice” Diggs serves as Secretary and Trustee for a Foundation that, imagine that, donated $45,000 to none other than the plaintiff in the case, the ACLU.
Will there be any consequences for her? Are you kidding? When was the last time that any member of the Anointed Classes suffered any consequences for their actions?
No, we can’t think of an example either.
Some people just are more equal than others, you know.
LC & IB Jay of Stop the ACLU has more.
UPDATE: And he has even more, this time about how “justice” Taylor, in a case where she uncharacteristically DID choose to recuse herself, went against procedure in order to try to get a judge that she liked to replace her. Did we mention that she is a Carter appointee? No, we didn’t. We shouldn’t have to.

August 22nd, 2006 at 9:09 pmPossible conflict of interest for Judge Anna Taylor Diggs…
Judge Diggs, you’ll remember, was the US District Court judge who last week ruled against the government’s NSA warrantless wiretapping of suspected terrorists. The ruling was widely hailed by the usual suspects on the far left who are stil…

Back when Justice Samuel Alito was merely a nominee to the Supreme Court, Democrats made issue of two things in particular in Justice Alito’s past hoping to derail the nomination. The first was his membership in an organization called CAP……

August 22nd, 2006 at 10:26 pmO’Reilly: Does Judge Taylor Want Americans To Die?…
I found this video over at the liberal blog Raw Story. O’Reilly expresses his concern over Judge Taylor’s NSA ruling and asks the question that many have on their minds, “Does she really wish ill will on our forces or is it some kin…

August 23rd, 2006 at 7:55 amSorry guys, this is meaningless. The foundation donated the money to the ACLU of Michigan, which is nothing but a local branch. The suit in question was brought forth by the national ACLU. If you knew anything about the ACLU (besides the fact that they bitchslap right-wing asshats on the regular), you’d know that the national ACLU has no real influence on the operations of the local ACLU.
In other words, this is a non-issue. The judge tore the Bush administration a new asshole through her legal reasonining. Too bad you can’t refute that.
August 23rd, 2006 at 8:46 amSorry, that so-called “legal reasoning” has already been thoroughly fisked by any number better legal minds than hers… and they can actually even spell.
August 23rd, 2006 at 9:54 amGee … so a Justice who donated money to a far right group should not recuse himself, as long as he donated money to a different local affiliate?
We’ll keep that novel interpretation in mind when a similar issue comes up on the right.
As for refuting this crap … the appellate court will handle that, not you or I.
I do think that this issue could have been handled better … if we could have gotten a formal declaration of war against Dar al-Islam, this crap would not have been brought up, and the reporter that spilled the beans on an intrel op during a formally declared war would have been jailed.
August 23rd, 2006 at 9:55 amSooooo… By your “logic” (And I use the term VERY loosely.) you’re saying, for instance, that the national office of an organization such as, saaaaaay, the NAALCP exerts ZERO influence on a local chapter in, saaaaay, Atlanta?
Okaaaaay… For your own good, you deluded dickweasel, it’s time for you to put the crack pipe down, call 9-1-1 and have them haul your ass to the local detox center… ASAP!
August 23rd, 2006 at 6:34 pmI’d say there MUST be some intestines there, Caveman.
(They have to be getting all of this fecal material from SOMEwhere, after all!)
“Intestinal FORTITUDE“, on the other hand, well, no, I don’t think you’ll find any of that.
