Muslim leaders condemn Pope’s speech, want apology

Muslim leaders on Thursday condemned Pope Benedict over comments he made about Islam on a visit to Germany and demanded he apologize.

Is it possible to make any statement, anywhere about the Religion of Piss without 1) immediate demands for apology, followed by 2) Rioting and other civil distrubances by unspecified middle-eastern male miscreants.

The head of the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood called on Islamic countries to threaten to break off relations with the Vatican unless the pontiff withdrew his remarks.

To be followed by Item #2 above, no doubt if their demands aren’t met. Memo to the Mooselimb Brotherhood: An attack on Vatican City might not be a real good idea. It’s entirely possible the Swiss Guards might have a bit more to deal with your turbaned tumblefuck adherents than those funny uniforms, and while we all know how well your PR wing does with fellating journalists, messing with the Holy See will most assuredly interfere with that continuing relationship.

A top religious figure in Turkey suggested the pope should reconsider a trip he is planning to Turkey later this year.

Riggghhhttt, unnamed sources suggesting a major breach of diplomatic relationships. I guess even his Holiness isn’t off-limits for journaljizmistic mooselimb ass licking either.

The Vatican issued a statement to say the Pope had never meant to offend Islam.

In his speech at the University of Regensburg on Tuesday, Benedict quoted criticism of Islam and the Prophet Mohammad by 14th century Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaeologus, who wrote that everything Mohammad brought was evil and inhuman, “such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

Benedict, who used the terms “jihad” and “holy war,” repeatedly quoted Manuel’s argument that spreading the faith through violence is unreasonable, adding: “Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul.”

All correct and historically accurate. I gather that the “new” plan is to have the infidels apologize and be condemned for statements of fact as they existed 600 years ago. Let’s call it the Islamic Reparations Ploy™.

The head of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Mahdi Akef, whose organization is one of the oldest, largest and most influential in the Arab world, said the pope “aroused the anger of the whole Islamic world and strengthened the argument of those who say that the West is hostile to everything Islamic.”

Hey Mohamutt, your home boys are always aroused and angry and it shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that the West is becoming more hostile to everything Islamic daily. Regardless of our feckless leadership, If We the People had a bit more control (or testicular fortitude in the West Wing) you would find out what REAL hostility to your primitive, backwards religious practices are.

“The general guide (Akef) expressed his surprise that such comments should come from someone who sits at the summit of the Catholic Church and who has an influence over public opinion in the West,” said a statement on the Muslim Brotherhood’s official Web site, www.ikhwanonline.com.

Do you really, really expect the “Panzer Pope” to give a rodent’s rectum about you being “surprised” by his comments?

Pope Benedict was quoting accurately from a predecessor, an exact statement of your pedophile’s prophets pathological hatred.

The Vatican press office said in a statement the pope had not intended to carry out an in-depth study of jihad (holy war) and Muslim thinking about it, “even less to offend the sensitivity of the Muslim faithful.”

“It is clear that the Holy Father’s intention is to cultivate a position of respect and dialogue toward other religions and cultures, and that clearly includes Islam,” the statement by chief Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said.

He said a careful reading of the Pope’s lecture would show that “what really matters to the Holy Father is a clear and radical rejection of religious motives for violence.”

Spot-On, good PR job there Fr. Labardi. Stick it up their colonic canyons.

In Turkey, the Anatolian state news agency quoted Ali Bardakoglu, the head of Ankara’s Directorate General for Religious Affairs, as describing the Pope’s words as “extremely regrettable.”

“I do not see any use in somebody visiting the Islamic world who thinks in this way about the holy prophet of Islam. He should first rid himself of feelings of hate,” NTV’s Web site quoted Bardakoglu as saying.

We don’t see any use for the Islamic world in general and even less use for your pathological prophet’s thoughts.

Bardakoglu, whose directorate controls all imams in Turkey and sends prayer leaders to Turkish communities abroad, recalled atrocities committed by Roman Catholic Crusaders during the Middle Ages in the name of their faith against Orthodox Christians and Jews as well as Muslims.

Another rewrite of history, courtesy of the Muslim world. We know you’re still pissed off at getting your reeking asses handed to you during the crusades, but that meme is running out of gas rather quickly, we infidels can and DO read you know. A few of us even understand that the crusades were a direct result of brutally agressive policies to establish a global caliphate.

Benedict is due to visit Turkey, an avowedly secular state whose population is predominantly Muslim, in November at the invitation of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.

In Qatar, prominent Muslim scholar Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawi rejected the Pope’s comments and said Islam was a religion of peace and reason.

Yep it sure is, ask your latest victims about Islamic reason, but their severed heads might be somewhat quiet in that answer.

“Muslims have the right to be angry and hurt by these comments from the highest cleric in Christianity,” Qaradawi told Al Jazeera television. “We ask the pope to apologize to the Muslim nation for insulting its religion, its Prophet and its beliefs.”

And since YOU have decided that it’s necessary for your religious beliefs to be forcibly imposed on the western world, an apology is only necessary if attached to a thermonuclear delivery mechanism.

Now where’s my personal Fartwash ??? I’m waiting………

(Update: Turkish Lawmaker falls over himself invoking Godwin’s Law.)

(Update II: They’ve moved from offended to furious over the Pope’s remarks. This is becoming more entertaining by the minute-JB)

    Muslims that are offended can go pound sand. If they want an apology then I want an apology for their daily Jew hating comments and actions. Here’s one example:

    Muhammad ‘Abd Al-Sattar [Syrian Deputy Minister of Religious Endowment]:

    “The Koran used terms that are closer to animals than to humans only with regard to those people. Look at the bestiality they demonstrate in the destruction of the Arab, Lebanese, and Palestinian people. This is why the people who were given the Torah were likened to a donkey carrying books. They were also likened to apes and pigs, and they are, indeed, the descendants of apes and pigs, as the Koran teaches us.”

    “We must know that opposing the Zionist plots, which aim to put on the throne of the Middle East the descendants of… those whom the Koran called the descendents of apes and pigs, who raise… They are the ones who will sit on the throne of the Greater Middle East. There is no doubt about this. The Koran said this, not me.”

    Incidentally, do Muslims have any other emotion than “offended”? That seems to be their default mode. I think it’s kind of funny. Jews (generalization here) have a sense of humor. There’s tons of Jewish comedians, and they make fun of themselves and their religion. Christians and humor? I can’t think of a comedian who identifies himself as Christian, offhand. Maybe Larry the Cable Guy, sort of.

    HOWEVER - please find me one Muslim comedian. I don’t think you can. Why? Because their audiences laugh their heads off? Because they explode with laughter? Because Muslim nightclubs are doing such a booming business? Why are there no Muslim comedians?

    Manuel II Paleologus’s original 14th-century writings reflected the rise of Islam against the free world. Strange how the more things change the more they stay the same.

    Said the Byzantine emperor, in a conversation with a “learned Persian” on Christianity and Islam — “and the truth of both”:

    “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread the sword by the faith he preached.”

    The speech, some say, shows the pontiff intends to carry on with his strong defense of the values of the Christian West rather than compromise for the sake of building bonds with Islam.

    They went to the speech expecting to meet Pope Benedict, but instead they met Professor Ratzinger,” said the Rev. Khalil Samir, a Vatican envoy for interfaith links in Lebanon.

    In July 2005, about two months after assuming the papacy, Benedict was asked if he considered Islam a religion of peace. He said: “Certainly there are elements that favor peace. It also has other elements.”

    The Rev. Robert Taft, a specialist in Islamic affairs at Rome’s Pontifical Oriental Institute, said it was unlikely the pope miscalculated how some Muslims would receive his speech.

    “The message he is sending is very, very clear,” Taft said. “Violence in the name of faith is never acceptable in any religion and that (the pope) considers it his duty to challenge Islam and anyone else on this.”

    They want to dance with the nuclear genie?
    Verrry stupid.
    Just whom do they believe wrote the cabaret?

    Wonder how that would look and sound to the “1812 Overture”.

    Or “Flight of the BumbleBee”

    A couple of things: First, regarding crusading, that’s all fine and good with me. Just leave us Jews out this time, OK? Mecca08. Second, regarding the Knights Templar and others, we can’t resurrect all the orders mentioned, but we can start a blogburst. We could pick a day of the week, and devote it to posts dealing with the koranimals and their idiocy. We could also focus on moderate Muslims, because they’ll need all the help they can get. Did anyone see that post Tuesday in the NY Post? Let’s do our part to help the wheat separate itself from the chaff. If anyone’s interested in the blogburst idea, email me.

    Arush, posting about silly muslims is already being done in varying degrees.

    Yes, I agree… leave the Jews out of it this time.

    We could also focus on moderate Muslims,

    All three of them at once?

    So the muslims are offended when the Pope calls them out on their natural propensity for violence and respond violently in turn? The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife. :D

    The 2006 Crusade ( I guess the 4th?) will be mechanized. The first three used the best weaponry of the times (trebuchets, and …) and the 4th will do likewise. But we will use some “old” weapons too. B-52’s are my favorite. And the WWII standby, “The Bomb”.

    There have been at least 8 Crusades already.
    * the first, 1095-1101;
    * the second, headed by Louis VII, 1145-47;
    * the third, conducted by Philip Augustus and Richard Coeur-de-Lion, 1188-92;
    * the fourth, during which Constantinople was taken, 1204;
    * the fifth, which included the conquest of Damietta, 1217;
    * the sixth, in which Frederick II took part (1228-29); also Thibaud de Champagne and Richard of Cornwall (1239);
    * the seventh, led by St. Louis, 1249-52;
    * the eighth, also under St. Louis, 1270.

    I don’t see the Children’s Crusade on here, but then, they never made it near the holy land.

    Check the page out, its an interesting read.
