While His Imperial Majesty was watching Hot Air’s Vent smackdown of the Democrat Fifth Column and their constant smears of our military, we had a thought upon being reminded, among other things, of the Chappaquiddick Submariner’s collusion with the Soviet Union.

Remember: He was caught red-handed, collaborating with an enemy of the United States of America during the Cold War, offering his assistance if they’d help him overthrow our democratically elected government so he and his fellow slimeballs could get back in power.

Also remember that the Administration that he sought to overthrow, with the aid of the Soviet Union, was the very same Administration that ended up defeating the Soviet Union, the biggest threat to democracy at the time.

If he had succeeded, the Wall might still stand and hundreds of millions might still be suffering under the yoke of communist totalitarianism.

So, with that in mind, it struck me: It would probably be a good idea to check Kennedy’s phone records to see if there’s any traffic going to, I don’t know, Pakistan maybe?

Keep in mind that he has already demonstrated willingness to collaborate with the most vile of enemies if he thinks it’ll help him and his party get back in power.

Perpetuating Soviet tyranny wasn’t too high a price for him to pay in order to achieve his goal of laying his Benedict Arnold mitts on the levers of power, so can anybody honestly say that it would be out of character for him to approach our current enemies in the same fashion?

I think not. At any rate, it would be foolish to dismiss the possibility out of hand, particularly in the middle of a global war against those enemies.

It certainly would help explain Fat Teddy and other Democrats’ opposition to intelligence-gathering efforts, wouldn’t it?

Just hypothesizing out loud here.

Think about it.

Of course, one should keep in mind that I’m just one of those dumb doofuses who, according to al-Q’erry, ended up volunteering for duty because I was too dumb and lazy in school to amount to anything.

The only concern I have with this theory is that it’s kind of a slippery slope into McCarthyism. I’ll be the first to grant that you are right and that Ted Kennedy should probably be under suspicion of treason after that little revelation, but we don’t want a repeat of the 1950’s and everybody accusing everyone else of being a communist.

Amen, Misha. It’s time for a new blacklist, and it’s high time we hold treason and sedition trials so these traitors can be found and sent to the firing squad, as they so rightly deserve. All this only after they get water-boarded, a fate worse than death itself.

Such always to tyrants and traitors.

I know, Clarion. I’m just wondering if we can really afford to not at least take a look?

I’m not saying that he has actually DONE anything, it’s just that his track record suggests that it would be a good thing to make sure. It’s not like I’m suggesting anything merely because he happens to be a Democrat. That would be wrong, in my opinion.

Methinks you have stumbled upon the reason Dems are upset about the FISA wiretapping.

Of course, the minor problem with a “slippery slope” into McCarthyism is that McCarthyism wasn’t what it was later redefined as by the leftwing media. Certainly not exactly… and probably not even close.

And even IF it was close, I’m STILL a hell of a lot more worried about Arnoldism than McCarthyism.

What is it about Massachusetts Senators and treason?
Kerry got on his knees and unzipped himself to the North Vietnamese delegation and Admiral Oldsmobile engaged in treasonous foreplay with the Soviets.

    “Hey Sergei, wanna a date?”

Maybe there was no penetration but it was out there hanging out for the taking from both these stinking whores.

“Spash” Kennedy is the “Karl Rove” of the DemonicRat Party.

It’s as obvious as the nose on your face, he pulls the strings that John Fu(kin’ sKerry dances to.

These are, without doubt, the two most dangerous persons in America.

Not that I’m all that conspiratorial, but:

That smacks of way too much common sense. T’would explain a lot and here we thought they were just stark-raving batshit, as well as drunken idiots.

    Read Coulter’s Treason,  Clarion.

McCarthy’s cardinal sin was being right.  Venona proved it.

It is not a sin to go hunting traitors if they are, in fact, traitors.

    Kennedy in GITMO…..there’s a thought.

I doubt a prosecution of Kennedy would be a slip into McCarthyism. Now if Kennedy was prosecuted and did a plea bargin & implicated other Congressmen who were also guilty of treason, THEN it would start looking like a new McCarthyism.

Ok…stupid question time…What the heck IS the Fifth column? I’ve seen it mentioned. NO clue what it is.

Another question: when did moonbats change to netroots? Moonbats is SOOO much more appropriate!

What the heck IS the Fifth column?

If my memory serves me correctly, (always a doubtful concept), the phrase “Fifth Column” was used during WWII to refer to the “homegrown” NAZI movement in Norway. (?)

Again, IIRC, Hitler referred to Vidkun Quisling’s Norwegian NAZIs as his (Hitler’s) “Fifth Column” in the invasion and subjugation of that country.

Since then, the term has been used to refer to groups with in a country who are sympathetic to the cause of an enemy.

(I know if I’m wrong, someone WILL correct me…)

Fifth column was a term used by Franco in the Spanish Civil war- four columns approaching the Madrid and the ‘fifth column’ which would rise up from its midst- thus the analogy of the enemy within.
