I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.
…clearly disqualifies Fuckface’s bromides (issued in written form because he was too afraid to say it in public, that noted “real man”) as an apology? It’s not a trick question, so unless you’re so dumb that you, according to Band Aid Batman, ought to be stuck in Iraq, you really shouldn’t have a hard time coming up with the answer.

It then follows that everyone who isn’t “successful” by their narrow metric (editors at the NYT, social workers and other “enlightened” individuals) must be held back by powerful forces beyond their control. The reality of the situation never crosses their minds.
It never occurs to them that people join the military because they see how the rest of the world lives. We see it, and do not want America to live like that. We do not want our citizens slaughtered by third-world dirt-eaters. In order to make that happen, we understand that we need to make sacrifices now and then, including perhaps putting our lives at risk.
They are unfamiliar with the concept of volunteerism, duty and honor. They see everyone who isn’t just like them as “stupid”. After all, they are brilliant, aren’t they. They ARE told every day how much better they are because they made the choice to matriculate.

As to the criticism of FDR, if I remember my history correctly, as of December 8th 1941 the criticism stopped as far as foreign policy went. The criticism you spoke of, again if I remember my history correctly was regarding Lend Lease, the 50 destroyers given to Britain, and other things which went against the isolationist feelings of the time.

It is a fact that the jihadis we are fighting in Iraq would be here in America now if Bush hadn’t removed saddam.
Those of us that understand we are actually in a war know that going into Iraq was necessary. That the war has not gone well can be attributed to many post engagement surprises and an failure to realize that Iran and Syria would actively and openly send troops and weapons into Iraq to be used against US troops. We need to adjust tactics just like we have in any other war.
But to say this isn’t a defensive war, and that Iraq isn’t part of it makes you the ignorant ass monkey, spewing out liberal talking points without a shred of individual thinking.
