Mike “I’m Above the Law” Nifong Backs off Rape Charges
Posted by: Emperor Misha I in "Law" of the Land, Useless Swine7:36 pm
Strangely enough right after it was discovered that he’d been trying desperately to suppress DNA evidence that didn’t help his obviously bogus case, DNA evidence that showed that, although the lying stripper ho had definitely been going at it hammer and tong with half of Durham, none of the spooge inside her cavernous cunt belonged to any of the Duke students.
(Oh, and the first commenter to call her an “exotic dancer” in the comments earns a troll hat and, possibly, a banning. Unless she was making a living performing ancient tribal dances in original attire and accompanied by the original music, she’s no more an “exotic dancer” than I am a neurosurgeon. Stick your PC crap up your arses. If you strip for a living, you’re a stripper. If you don’t like that title, find another job. I am fucking sick and tired of watching the English language being adulterated, raped and distorted to protect hypersensitive morons’ pwecious feewings).
Obviously, it would be awfully embarrassing for Mike “Corrupt, Lying Scumbag” Nifong to have evidence appear in court that showed he had been tampering with it, collaborating with the lab to suppress it, so we can certainly see where he might think it better to drop the charges to which the evidence was attached.
He’s still pressing forward with the kidnapping (no, we shit you not) charges as well as the sexual assault charges, however.
Sadly, as we all know, Nifong will face absolutely no consequences for his lawless, criminal behavior, seeing as how he belongs to the royal class of civil “servants” that, for some unknown reason, are immune from the law. Somebody please explain to me how and why D.A.s are immune from criminal charges, even when their behavior is obviously criminal. We already know about royal immunity from the law, but we were under the impression that this country had given up on backwards, feudal “law.”
Obviously we were wrong.
In a just society, Nifong would be disbarred, sent to prison for a very VERY long time and be held personally liable for every penny of financial damages to the families of those kids. With interest. Compounded. And he’d be working in a uranium mine until every last cent had been paid back or until he croaked from radiation poisoning, whichever happened first.
But we don’t live in a just society, so absolutely nothing will happen to him.
He’ll probably be offered a book and a film deal.

This case has more holes in it than a Bill Clinton alibi.
Durham, you only have yourself to blame for putting this clown back in office. :annoyed_tb:

December 22nd, 2006 at 8:08 pmIf her case constitutes “kidnapping” then so does every situation in which a drunk was forced to wait for their designated driver to leave the party.
December 22nd, 2006 at 8:44 pmYep-
He’ll get shitcanned next election (maybe) and the ACLU or DNC will hire his filthy ass, he should be getting passed around like a peace pipe in the bucket like that lying ho’ he pimped out for reelection.
Simply amazing the stoopid cocksucker is leaving the other charges hang as if it gives him some damage control. He should have US DOJ up his ass for prosecutorial misconduct, but it won’t happen unless we get lucky.
December 22nd, 2006 at 8:58 pmI hope the young men who have been put through this, having their lives and their athletic season disrupted, have some sort of legal recourse to justice over this megalomaniac.
Anyone remember if Jesse Jackson and/or Al Sharpton said anything about this case? (Seems I remember someone automatically jumping on the race bandwagon.)
Because if they publicly called these young men “guilty” before the facts came out, they also owe them an apology.
December 22nd, 2006 at 9:01 pmMeet the new Tawana Brawley, same as the old.
Nifong is a disgrace to the profession, pardon my British understatement. His actions are unforgivable (pardon my Japanese understatement).

December 22nd, 2006 at 9:16 pmHad it been BLACK students accused of raping a WHITE woman, the NAACP et al would be going full steam behind the accused! :furious_tb:
December 22nd, 2006 at 9:21 pmHow dare you blame the poor exotic dancer for being raped. She’s the victim here, dammit!
:ohmy_tb:
[I hate to respond to an obvious provocation but, then again, I’m also a man of my word. Wear it in good health, Temujin. Hey, with New Year’s just over a week away, it may even come in handy :wink_ee: — Emp.M.]

December 22nd, 2006 at 10:11 pmAs a resident of the town next door, I’ve been following this one keenly.
First, he only ever pursued this case to:
a) get re-elected by courting the black vote.
b) make a name for his scrawny legal weasel ass.
His defendant is the worst sort of lying shit-sack, who probably only preferred charges in the first place so they can be overturned but used as evidence in her -civil- suit later. After all, the burden of proof for the Legal Lottery is much, much looser and those evil white boys can be made to pay by a jury of her peers.
Frankly, Durham is a shithole, but even Durham doesn’t deserve Nifong in one of its public offices, unless he was there to collect his welfare check.
December 22nd, 2006 at 11:15 pmUh oh. Looks like someone just might be angling for the ol’ chapeau d’troll. And just in time for the Winter Solstice Holiday too.
December 22nd, 2006 at 11:23 pmMy thoughts exactly, Mike M. And a damn shame too. I was hoping to win the “ol’ chapeau d’troll” with something like “erotic dancer” or “whore”. For now, my collection of Imperial Titles must remain stable. I won’t pimp for a measely party hat.
But, damn, Imperial Troll would have looked nice on my resume. What kind of heartless jerk would steal it from me?
SLUT!
December 22nd, 2006 at 11:52 pmIt’s not just Nifong that should be held accountable for smearing the reputations of three obviously innocent men in the Duke Rape (whoops, we can’t call it that anymore, can we?) Case. Some of the blame - and consequences - should damned well be parceled out to Duke’s president and administration as well, all of whom cheerfully threw not only the three defendants to the wolves in a fit of political correctness, but the entire Duke lacrosse team as well.
Remember that within two weeks of the allegations being made against those three players, the coach of the lacrosse team was summarily fired, the season was canceled and the entire team was all but run off campus. On top of the criminal charges, the three defendants were themselves barred from campus, and over eighty Duke faculty members signed a petition declaring that the players were obviously guilty and should be jailed in the interests of “social justice,” with all the usual references to various historical wrongs one might expect of such a document. So much for getting a fair trial in Durham; those kids couldn’t get the benefit of the doubt even at their own school…
Ace at Ace of Spades linked today to a report that Duke’s president, now that Nifong has decided to drop the “rape” part of the charges, has changed course and is now calling for Nifong’s head. That’s nice, but doesn’t it come a little late, especially as how Duke’s faculty has already passed sentence not only on the three boys, but on the entire lacrosse team as well, for these false charges?
At a minimum, Duke needs a new president. And once those kids are exonerated, the university owes each of them, at the least, full-ride scholarships to the university of their choice so they can complete their education.
Preferably at a fairer and more reputable institution of higher learning than Duke University has shown itself to be.
…Incidentally, right after it was revealed that Nifong had pressured the head of the crime lab that handled the DNA testing in the case to keep silent about his findings, at least one North Carolina congressman petitioned the US Department of Justice, in a letter to AG Alberto Gonzalez, to open a civil rights investigation of Nifong and his handling of this case. Here’s hoping the guy gets results.
December 23rd, 2006 at 12:00 amTry this Wes, it was the group of 88.
Here’s more.
December 23rd, 2006 at 12:18 amWhy thank you, Mope. I think it was originally the “Durham-In-Wonderland” blog where I first saw that little “manifesto,” but I forgot the link.
December 23rd, 2006 at 12:40 amThe Rape of the Duke University Lacrosse Team…
Durham North Carolina District Attorney, Mike Nifong has dropped rape charges against the three lacrosse players accused of raping an exotic dancer at a fraternity party last winter. The players still face charges of kidnapping and sexual offence….
December 23rd, 2006 at 1:13 amLadyHeather, not only did Jesse and Al make their appearances, but also the Black Panthers. The players had threats made to them and had their pictures posted all over Duke and Durham with the legend “rapist” on them, the coach was summarily executed…er, forced into resignation, and the season was cancelled. These three boys have had their lives put on hold until a trial is held. When that trial is over, if it ever is, don’t hold your breath waiting for anybody to apologize either to the three or to the team as a whole. Unless you like blue, that is. Duke blue.
December 23rd, 2006 at 3:12 amNow, I ain’t no attorney, but it would seem to me that the proper response for the accused here would be to promptly file a civil rights suit against Nodong and a defamation of character suit against the stripper within about three seconds of the announcement of “not guilty”. Maybe the same against Dook University, the faculty, the administration, and anybody else they can think to add on to the list.
Now, granted, I happen to think that this country is FAR too lawsuit happy, but, in cases like this, where the misconduct is by a government agency/official, I would be happy to make an exception.
(Of course, the sorry bastard may be covered by some kind of “protection”, but, if that’s the case, well, doesn’t lacrosse involve some kind of long stick???)
Also, found this from SNL…
December 23rd, 2006 at 6:52 amSimple: A fox will not punish itself for raiding the henhouse.
You’re welcome.
December 23rd, 2006 at 10:27 amNow, this is rich: the “group of 88″ has perhaps unknowingly adopted a popular salute of neo-Nazis. ‘H’ is the 8th letter of the alphabet. In the skinhead/neo-Nazi lexicon, ‘88′ = ‘HH’ = “Heil Hitler.”
A Freudian slip, gentlemen?
December 23rd, 2006 at 10:37 amI would love to see Nifong be the target of an “Arc Light Raid” of lawsuits from the Duke Lax players and their families, but I don’t really see that happening.
It is, after all; Durham.
‘Hot Air’ babe, ‘Townhall’ Blogger and Durham native, Mary Katharine Ham offers an unique perspective:
It’s Durham. It’s full of a bunch of liberal white people who love to get yelled at by black people, and a bunch of liberal black people who are happy to oblige them. This story scratched that white guilt itch soooo good, they just couldn’t let it go, even though it was pretty clear from the beginning that the story was a little off.

December 23rd, 2006 at 11:36 amJeez… sounds like one of the ‘bad guys win’ Law & Order episodes…
Damnit.
December 23rd, 2006 at 5:27 pmThey should, but chances are Nifong will find a way out of it. He’s the DA after all, so anything he does it covered by the umbrella protection our crooked politicians get the moment we put an X in besides their name.
And suing the stripper might be counter-productive, it’s not like they’ll ever -see- a penny of their judgement. Suing Dook though, that has merit.
December 23rd, 2006 at 7:38 pmI somehow doubt that Nifong is the only DA that’s like this, he’s just the only one who’s been stupid enough to get caught.
The judicial system is like the government.
The reason it has gotten this far out of hand, is that it is, for the majority part, illegal to talk about the methods that would resolve this problem.
December 23rd, 2006 at 8:59 pmI think you might be able to sue him under federal human rights statutes. Whaddaya say, BisW? You’d know a heck of a lot more about that than the rest of us…
That was more in the way of a “pre-emptove strike”, actually. Sue her ass first, before she can sue you.
And that is where the attornies would make their contingency money…
December 23rd, 2006 at 11:48 pmGood point, although the fact that you have to pre-emptively sue someone and that I think it’s maybe a good idea just made me a little sick in my stomach.
Less lawyers, not more laywers. Say it with me people.
