BAGHDAD, Iraq - The body of an Associated Press employee was found shot in the back of the head Friday, six days after he was last seen by his family leaving for work. Ahmed Hadi Naji, 28, was the fourth AP staffer to die violently in the Iraq war and the second AP employee killed in less than a month. He had been a messenger and occasional cameraman for the AP for 2 1/2 years.

How were his PhotoShop skills? After all, as al-Roto-Reuters have shown us, finding a “reporter” with decent skills in that area can be pretty damn difficult, so if Ahmed was good at it, this could really be a huge blow to AP’s “reporting” from Iraq.

“All of us at AP share the pain and grief being felt by Ahmed’s family and friends,” said AP President and CEO Tom Curley.

“If this keeps up, our ‘reporters’ may have to check out of the bar at the al-Rashid and leave the Green Zone, which would be too horrible for words!”

“The situation for our journalists in Iraq is unprecedented in AP’s 161-year history of covering wars and conflicts. The courage of our Iraqi colleagues and their dedication to the story stand as an example to the world of journalism’s enduring value.”

Which, judging by the “enduring value” of, say, “Captain Jamail Hussein” and his “Tales of 61 Nights”, isn’t much to speak of in the first place.

Naji’s wife, Sahba’a Mudhar Khalil, reported him missing Dec. 30 when he did not return that evening. He had left home by motorcycle in the Ashurta Al Khamsa District in southwest Baghdad at 10:30 a.m., telling her he was going to the AP office.

After having worked tirelessly all night on a “story” about American soldiers burning down an orphanage, no doubt.

I’d pretend I gave a shit, but even His Imperiousness can’t muster that kind of make-believe.

Thatisall.

Well at least they didn’t get shot, and they can always hire another idiot. (Ya wanna be a big league news correspondent? Just go ask that guy over there about the ****bombing and mention you know Abdul)

Hey, who’s buying this round *hic*

One lesson this gives (that no one on the left seems willing to learn) is that, even if you’re sympathetic to their cause, if you’re not one of them, you’re an infidel anyway and will be dealt with violently at the first opportunity. I really don’t know why the appeasers don’t understand that - I don’t want us to get hit again, but hopefully something will happen to help them learn that.

At least they got THAT right…somebody finally figured out who the real enemy is…

    You’re an optimist Charlie, *klink*
I’m thinkin’ they’ll find another way to placate that notion of who the real enemy is.
