But Absolutely NO Links to Terrorism, We’re Sure (UPDATED)
Posted by: Emperor Misha I in Homeland Insecurity, Journaljizzm, Religion of Pus, The Empire at War3:17 pm
Remember the “isolated incident” at Port of Miami yesterday, when a truck driven by an Iraqi was stopped, revealing two illegal aliens, a Lebanese and another Iraqi, in the back of the truck?
Well as the day wore on, the usual FBI bromides about “no links to terrorism” (which is usually proof that there is evidence all over the place), and the MSM were quick to laugh about it all and mock the security personnel and their “comedy of errors.” (Full run-down by LC & IB LindaSoG here).
Guess what was found at Port of Miami today?
Isn’t that funny? We’re sure that the MSM will be full of jokes later today about C4 being loaded on a cruise liner full of passengers. My sides, they are splitting with laughter.
Rope. Tree. Journalist.
Some assembly required.
Will that serve to make journaljizzmers a tad more reluctant to ridicule the notion that terrorists are trying to kill us, not to mention mocking all of us “paranoid, racist rednecks?”
In your dreams.
That would require shame, and to date there is not a single graduate (if avoiding death from cirrhosis and showing up to pick up your diploma can be called “graduating”) from J-”school” who has even the flimsiest notion of what that word even means.
Of course, this whole thing could just be a silly coincidence.
One day a truck full of illegal Middle Easterners is stopped and, the very next day in that very same facility, a load of C4 is found on its way into a passenger ship’s cargo hold.
It happens all the time, we’re sure. Nothing to see here, move along.
Oh, and do you know who runs Port of Miami?
A Good Ol’ Boy True Blue American by the name of Khalid Salahuddin. IMAM Khalid Salahuddin, that is, also a former member of the Nation of Islam. And that’s just a few of his extremist affiliations.
But no reason to be alarmed. Oh no, none at all.
Islam is a religion of peace, don’t you know?
***UPDATE:*** SPRINKLER PARTS? Sure. Sprinkler parts that checked positive, 6 times, for C4. We’re told they’re on sale at Home Depot. They’re in the aisle right next to the weather balloons and the reflected Venusian swamp gas containers.
Could you guys at least try?

In New York City today, there was a terrible gas stink reported. Personally, I didn’t notice that it smelled any worse than usual. It was evidently that artificial smell that’s put into natural gas so’s you know if your range or boiler is leaking. But, again, we got from Mikey Bloomberg, “Nothing to see here, folks, just go about your business. Nothing wrong.” Yeah, right!
January 8th, 2007 at 3:29 pmDamn…between the time I saw the article and the time I logged in, Cheryl beat me to it.
does this mean that finally, we can call NOI a terrorist org?
We will NOT submit.
January 8th, 2007 at 3:31 pmBetween the attack on our (shamelessly helpless) Guard last week and this little incident, I’m seriously wondering if it isn’t high time to add some firearms to the household. :guns_tb:
January 8th, 2007 at 3:40 pmGeezz Duke..and I thought M and I were slackers on getting armed. Go to it bud!
As for the article…people keep wondering why I have absolutely NO desire to take a cruise. If you’re not struck down sick with the black plague, you stand a good chance of getting your ass blown up by those peace loving terrorswines. “Move along folks…nothing to see here. Just some innocent C4 on it’s way to Jamaica.”
January 8th, 2007 at 3:47 pmThe only sea going vessel I would feel safe on is a fully armed, balls to the wall Air Craft Carrier. Preferably one on it’s way to bomb Mecca into oblivion.
Y’know, if I could get a couple of boxes of them “sprinkler parts” I could get a couple of them old stumps outa the ground, deepen the catfish pond, and maybe see what’s under that old truck down back.
January 8th, 2007 at 3:58 pmWorking with the sale of natural gas, I have had experience with Mercaptan, the oderant used in natural gas (which has no oder), and this is the stinkiest stuff on the face of the earth. That’s why they use it.
I have dealt (suffocated)from the accidental spillage of just a few drops of this stuff, and I’ve talked to the LAFD about building evacuations with blocks being shut down due to less that an once of this being mishandled.
Not saying this was nothing, it’s always better to be safe, but a minor spill/leakage of this chemical could affect a very, very large area.
January 8th, 2007 at 4:02 pmDamn…I’ve heard of aerating you lawn, but that’s going a tad bit far.
January 8th, 2007 at 4:05 pmMercaptan, that’s exactly what it was, SoCalOilMan. Always wondered what that stuff was called. There were some temporary building evacuations where the smell was strongest, but fortunately no injuries reported. Manhattan isn’t very big and as you say, even a small amount of it would not take long to disperse.
January 8th, 2007 at 4:34 pmParanoid racist rednecks? Sounds about right to me, LOL.
Mishy mashy, even your right wing buddy drudge says so
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2007/01/08/D8MHB8NG1.html
Stop your silly conspiracy theories, next thing you’re gonna say that Bush formulated the 9/11 attacks, LOL.
January 8th, 2007 at 5:00 pmMaybe it’s my paranoia working overtime, but I have long suspected that the next big terrorist attack would be on a cruise ship. A keen observer would note that these terrorist bastards seem to make a lot of dry runs before pulling off the big one. In the leadup to 9/11, we had explosives set off in the towers (possibly to test their strength), a plane of comparable size (Flight 800) blown up, hijackings and detonations of planes in the MIddle East and elsewhere, domestic airport security tested, and while we are all looking for a nuke or biochem attack, the bastards go retro and hijack airplanes…..and then the pieces get put together to produce 9/11.
Now put THESE pieces together…USS Cole, the Zodiac attack on a French oil tanker in 2002, The attack on a Navy Frigate off the coast of Africa last year by islamic pirates in zodiacs, and now we have this incident. I’ve long believed that they’ve been rehearsing for an attack on a cruise ship…they’re big, slow moving, sometimes isolated, fat juicy targets. Sink one in a port and watch the mayhem THAT causes.
But this is not the reason why I won’t take a cruise. I don’t go on cruises because:
1…you can’t fish off of the boat
2…I don’t go on vacation just so some snotty cruise director can schedule my every waking minute and tell me where to go all the time….it goes contrary to my rebel nature.
Now if you’ll excuse me, your friendly neighborhood conspiracy monger has to go bait his Sasquatch traps.
January 8th, 2007 at 5:02 pmI’M SERIOUSLY STARTING TO WONDER WHO IS ON OUR SIDE?
THE GUBMINT WONT DO A THING ABOUT ANY OF THIS SHIT.
OUR “NOBELS/ELITES” SAY WE ARE JUST BACKWARD THINKING, RACIST, BIGGOTED, XENOPHOBIC,HOMOPHOBES WHO WANT TO TAKE FOOD OUT OF KIDS MOUTHS & STEAL THE ELDERLYS SOC SEC CHECKS & MAKE THEM EAT CATFOOD. THE JIHADIS NEVER SEEM TO EVER DO ANY THING WRONG (YES I’M TALKING ABOUT YOU CAIR.)IT’S TIME FOR A SECOND REVOLUTION(NO HIPPIES NOT ANOTHER SEXUAL REVOLUTION)
AGAINST ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN & DOMESTIC.
NEVER FORGIVE NEVER FORGET!

January 8th, 2007 at 5:38 pmThrow this in the stew!
Believe what you will, Liberaltwit!
I believe I’ll get another pistola!
Not that I need a reason to buy one, I just likes my precious, I do! :guns_tb:
I’m trying to figure out how you get multiple false positives for C4?
On a cruise ship, I’ll assume these weren’t lawn sprinklers made out of ABS or PVC, so what in the manufacture of a steel sprinkler head would mimic plastic explosive. With all the buildings being erected or retrofitted with something that is everywhere, why has this suddenly come up?
Another case of not enough explanation for something we (the populous) deserve a little more detail, other than “don’t look behind the curtain”.
“Would you like to know more?” (Starship Troopers)
Damn straight.
January 8th, 2007 at 5:46 pmWanna buy some rope? So do these guys.
January 8th, 2007 at 5:49 pmOtherwise known as “New Jersey” :flush_tb:
January 8th, 2007 at 5:59 pmThere’s a distinct difference between suggesting that somebody orchestrated a terror attack on their own and then blamed it on somebody else and suggesting that officials might try to cover up a terrorist incident in order to prevent panic/backlash/ridicule/bad reviews.
Trust me on this once, there’s a difference and I know a thing or two about it.
But believe what you feel that you must.
In the meantime, be careful around sprinklers. You never know when they’re going to blow up and take out a wall or two.
Oh, and kindly refrain from referring to Drudge and his poodle Breitbart as “my right wing buddies.”
They’re neither.
January 8th, 2007 at 6:06 pmAw, come on now. It was just some company trying to recycle expired military surplus stuff into a useful product for the civilian world. Gosh, how could we suspect those poor innocent persons of trying to do a repeat of a few years ago.
January 8th, 2007 at 6:43 pmohio right wing nut
Read your VRWC manual, it’s DOG food, not cat food. Cat food is to good for the geezers. Jeesh, don’t you attend ANY of the meetings man?!
January 8th, 2007 at 6:47 pmThe Super Bowl is here in a couple of weeks and I can’t get that out of my head. That makes us ripe for an attack and ripe for a coverup of any kind of terrorist threat.
Mail me a tin foil if you think I need it.
Thank you for the link Sir! You do me much honor.
January 8th, 2007 at 6:52 pmOh DREK! Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.
Are the government “leaders” so damned blind and stupid as to not realize that our country is at war with these towel-headed tumblefucks?
I can’t believe that people are so STUPID, blind, or apathetic as to carry their PC bullshit to the legnth that it takes the safety of our country, and the lives of her people for granted. What is it going to take to get some to open their eyes, the death of a major American city? The MSM are busily paving the road to destruction and a LOT of idiots are busily following them. I flat-assed refuse to be a lemming and see the country I love go over the edge of the cliff.
We’ve got to do SOMETHING about this, all of these slimey politicos are breaking their vow “to defend the country from ALL enemies foregin and domestic” this sort of stupidity is the kind that comes with a death sentance and I’d really like to pass on this country to the next generation and not see it die.
Well, I’ll get off my soap-box for now, the wife is calling me to dinner.
January 8th, 2007 at 7:05 pmHere’s a thought guys. Maybe the announcement that there is no link to terrorism is our intelligence agencies practicing dis-information. Any of you who are vaguely aware of covert intelligence activities know that sometimes you don’t let the enemy know what you know. Like when a very high level source in a foreign government gives you something so juicy that you can’t act on it because they would then know that you have a high level source somewhere.
Just a thought.
January 8th, 2007 at 7:11 pmBut if everything is a potential source of future information to our government, that’s when I get scared, and start cleaning my firearms, and stocking up. Most things should be explained with the best info to back it up to US, we may not need to know all the details, but we cannot run on blind faith alone forever.
Man, I hate to sound like a conspiracy nut.
January 8th, 2007 at 7:26 pmI happened to be walking down the hill towards my squadron in Athens, Greece on the night of July 11th, 1988, to work the mid shift. Looking out over the water to the West, my roomie and I thought that someone had put up some new, very tall sodium vapor lights on the international terminal side across the runway. (It was on the other side of the runway.) After a minute or so of walking, we stopped where some wires were crossing the road and watched for a few seconds. Those “lights” were moving in a downward direction. It was then that we realized “HOLY SHIT! Those are flares from a ship!”. We then ran the rest of the way to the squadron to start checking on the wire traffic.
Pre-staged guns and munitions on-board a ship. Check.
Terrorists in the country illegally, waiting to board said ship. Check.
Massacred passengers in a foiled plot to take hostages in exchange for the release of other terrorists in prison. Check.
This is for LiberalTwat. Nope. Nothing to see here. Move along.
January 8th, 2007 at 7:44 pmAirhead, first off there’s a difference between being your run of the mill black helicopter conspiracy kook and someone who has a reasonable suspicion. Liberal idiots [redundancy] are knee-jerk troglodytes that regurgitate any lunacy so long as it smears Republicans, puts America in a bad light and licks the asshole of every communist, theocrat and dictator. In this case it’s not unreasonable to think something’s not on the up ‘n up.
It’s not unimaginable for the govt to hold back info it feels could compromise an investigation or for whatever reason feels the public shouldn’t know. The State Dept knew for decades that the dead rat Arafat was responsible fore the murders of Americans and only recently made this revelation.
I’m sure the govt is turning these guys inside out to find anything out. I bet there was C4 and the govt would then presume there are others involved. There very well could be a much more C4 to be placed throughout the city. They also could have very well just floated the “sprinkler” explanation to throw off co-conspirators. Who knows.
Another reason why we could be hearing about “sprinklers” is that our govt doesn’t want the American citizens to realize how vulnerable we are. The millennium bomber at LAX was caught with sheer luck by an observant officer. Clintonista would have you believe he was responsible for thwarting that attack. Baggage in the belly of the planes is essentially unchecked, our borders are wide open, etc..
It’s also possible that C4 was smuggled across our Mexican border. Shoulder fire missiles could easily be smuggled in and used to shoot a plane down, which may be exactly what happened to TWA flight 800.
January 8th, 2007 at 7:45 pmYou are, of course, absolutely correct, Crunchie.
That’s what makes all of this so much fun. Did nothing happen? If so, was it because security miss the real data? Was it a dry run? Are they pretending everything’s alright to lull the Islamofascists into a false sense of security? To cover their own asses? Are they pretending because they don’t really know anything but know that the Hajjis will expect that they DO know if they pretend NOT to know?
I’ve got a headache :wink_ee:
The thing is: We don’t know. We can only guess. All I’m saying is that catching a Middle Eastern truck driver trying to get in while lying about two illegal Middle Easterners in the back of the truck, followed the very next day by something like this is at least one too many coincidences for me to take it at face value.
I just hope that the powers-that-be know what they’re doing.
January 8th, 2007 at 7:49 pmIt’s WAY past time, my friend. Log out NOW and take the steps needed to obtain one (I have no idea where you live; the process may take awhile). Make it a 9mm or .45ACP if a handgun or a .223 Remington or .308 Winchester if a rifle (your source of resupply might very well be what you can scavenge from a burned-out enemy vehicle).Get a good, inexpensive, reliable one and practice with it. If necessary, you can use it to “obtain” a better one.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:22 pmP.S. to my post, above: The local bigbox store has a disaster pack of 275 freeze-dried meals that fits in a 5 gallon bucket, and only costs $100.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:24 pmYep, that’s about the size of it. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHH!!!! Rowane, the answers are
January 8th, 2007 at 8:25 pm1. A city or cities get blown up, in which case just freaking MAYBE America comes together again ala 9/11.
2. We start reclaiming this nation ala 1776.
Remember your oath of enlistment? REMEMBER YOUR OATH OF ENLISTMENT!
I’m going to Vegas this week to see from friends from school. This is my first vacation in over a year. I’m gonna drive the 4 hours when the flight is under an hour, why?
Drive time 4 hours.
Counting the 40 minutes to the airport, I have to be there 2 hours early due to security delays, the hour flight and the shuttle to the hotel of another hour (which in Vegas is a cinch, cause where else are you heading but the Strip?).
Outside of the hour on the plane the stress is the same, plus I can’t have my “personal protection” on the journey, nor in Vegas, and the whole trip take about the same number of minutes.
If I can’t drive, I’m not sure it’s worth the time going.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:27 pmSame here, Duke. Already done, got more guns than people. And even when, note I didn’t say if, an atack occurs. Care to bet the lefties out there will blame bush? Even though they presently ridicule attempts to intercept these shipments? Denial will get you killed. My major regret being it won’t be these journalists getting offed, just osme innocent son of a bitch out on a cruise.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:31 pmNow how the fuck did that happen? It’s BUSHE’S fault!
January 8th, 2007 at 8:33 pmOur esteemed Emperor says
Then can you imagine the migraines Clancy must have writing about this shit in a way that us dolts can enjoy reading about? :jittery_tb:
Me too Sire, me too.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:34 pmHow the hell did everything go bold in my last comment. Must be a conspiracy :ponder_tb:
January 8th, 2007 at 8:35 pmSo what exactly was the explanation for the two guys HIDING in the truck and the driver lying about it? I missed that.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:42 pmFrom what I read, they were all legal immigrants, so no point in hiding.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:44 pmAha! And I thought it was just me. I sit and look at my wife and daughter, thanking God every day both the Other Half and I know how to use our guns. I’m not a long distance shooter by any stretch. But my Marlin will do just fine out to three hundred yards, forty-four mags being what they are. And we all know what forty-fives are for…I get a real kick watching my wife fire it..but they give you time to get your twelve gauge! God forbid it comes to that. But I think about you guys and gals here, it does something to me inside………I’d rather die with you than stand with the gutless maggots out there.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:45 pmI was very busy at work today and although I always have talk radio on, missed anything about this C-4 business until a few minutes ago when I was going to my favorite blogs.
Something stinks here, and I hope you guys who think our government may know what’s going on, are right. Cuz, if not, we’re all fucked.
Christ, this makes me nervous. Somethings up.
January 8th, 2007 at 8:59 pmOh I remember it all too well. It’s just that it’s a little harder to fight the domestic enemies.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:03 pmManagement RE #33, thanks!
Cavman
Amen brother, Amen!
January 8th, 2007 at 9:12 pmOh come on guys…you know if we will all just give in and try to understand the Muslim mindset and admit that we eeeevil Capitalist Americans are at fault for making them hate us, they will just stop being so testy and we can be best buddies. You know..sit and like talk about what we have in common like….
ummm…like….
uh..
oh hell never mind. I can’t try to think like a moonbat. It makes my brain cells gag.
I agree Jewell…something is in the works and the Feds better be working through their coffee breaks to figure out what it is.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:12 pmWe’ll be going to the range this week…going to work on my one handed shooting. Now if I can just get those stinking sites to work with my worn out eyes.
Is this Salahuddin the current director of the port?
January 8th, 2007 at 9:18 pmI want to do the same thing, but my mom doesn’t want any guns in the house (I live at home yet, so I have to abide by her rules, which sucks in this case).
January 8th, 2007 at 9:20 pmAssistant Port Director, yes.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:22 pmWhat Crunchie said-#39.
I wondered where they’ve been keeping them. Thanks, Sire.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:23 pmLittleRott84
Just ask you mother what she has planned to protect you and the rest of her family if, God forbid, someone desires to harm you.
IMHO any head of household who does take the appropriate measures to protect their charges, is irresponsible at best, guilty of child endangerment at worst.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:25 pmWell, I’ll say it again. Something stinks. This was either a dry run, or a way to see how we are responding, whatever. Maybe a diversion.
I have a bad feeling.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:28 pmPersonally I believe owning and knowing how to use your gun is a civic responsibility. God knows my in laws would shit if they knew about the wife and I with our twelve, the .44 rifle and the two .45’s. So they don’t know. My mother gets a hoot out of it, being raised on a ranch as she was. I do not care to ever know the anguish of the words….”If only………” My guns have never been fired in anger, I pray they never are. But I will to defend or for that matter, avenge. If that makes me a bad person, tough shit.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:31 pmJewells45. I agree. A sense of foreboding. I’ve felt it too, undefinable, cannot be located, it is simply there. I tend to be proactive. So I have my stocks. I am a little low on ammo though……I love the powerful kick from my .45…….
January 8th, 2007 at 9:33 pmNot a chance, Jaybear. He won’t go anywhere near King County. Too many moonbats trying to recruit him to their causes. Try Coeur d’Alene.
As for the rest of it, there are two ways to take it:
1. Our consistenly clue-fucked government muffed it again.
2. Our government that wants to appear as if it is consistently clue-fucked nailed these bastages, but doesn’t want the showercurtain-wearing savages to know that we have figured out ‘the tell’.
My money is on the latter, simply because I fully believe we would have continued having ‘incidents’ in this country after 9/11 if they were truly incompetent. Luck may be dumb, be she doesn’t favor ANYONE that much.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:49 pmWild Eyed Charlie Would you care to be more specific about the identity of this particular store? I have heard about Costco carrying these, but I don’t have one in the area. Is someone else handling them, also?
January 8th, 2007 at 9:58 pmBiW nailed it. There have been more plots and attempts stopped, or allowed to continue until just the right time and then stopped when we can grab the most players, than we will ever know.
That’s one of the problems with The Long War. There’s to many successes that we can’t ever know about. Like the Cold War, there are spy stories and success stories that won’t be declassified and written about for generations to come.
A public that isn’t reminded occasionally that there are cells here trying their damndest to kill us, will start to believe they just don’t exist. A real motherfucker of a catch 22. If you tell them how good you’re doing the enemy knows where they are failing and changes, therefore cutting down on your success rate. And they only need to succeed once.
January 8th, 2007 at 9:58 pmI agree, but I’m still holding at just a teech under level 4. (Level 5 as “under actual attack.)
And most likely, they will never let anything out into the political community so that the State Dept. could have it and released it to the MSM.
Still, doesn’t make me sleep better at the moment.
January 8th, 2007 at 10:05 pmThat was MY point EXACTLY, cmblake. These slimy politicos need to remember their oath of office and FOLLOW it.
For the sake of our country and its people the stuffed suits in DC must start acting like leaders instead of a bunch of junior high schoolgirls.
I’m purely ashamed of every politician I have heard of from the local level to the national. If THESE are the “cream-of-the-crop” from our nation today then we are watching the beginning of the end, because these idjits aren’t fit to lead a platoon.
January 8th, 2007 at 10:25 pmParanoid. Check. Racist. Check. Rednecks. You betcha.
Read it and weep, tardballs.
Now re-read all the vomit you spewed in the above comments until you become self-aware of what fools your are.
January 8th, 2007 at 11:54 pmLC Guido Cabrone:
I was referring to Costco, but wasn’t sure if any of the others have them. (Are there others? Costco seems to have bought them all out around here.)
January 9th, 2007 at 12:02 amLiberalditz, when the shit hits the fan,(only a matter of time) us ‘tardballs’ will be your last, best hope. :guns_tb:
January 9th, 2007 at 12:05 amSo you all remember the movie Airplane?
January 9th, 2007 at 12:42 amThat Security check point in that movie reminds me of this last two days and the FBI.
And you’d better have something we want or need. Look up the definition of the words bandenkrieg or ronin, Then read Civil War II by Thomas Chittum. If he’s wrong, you can continue to laugh at us and call us names. But if he’s right…May G-d have mercy on you, because we won’t.
January 9th, 2007 at 12:43 amSix false positives with a box of sprinkler parts?
How do they know the C4 wasn’t in the parts? C4 is a plastic explosive, and can be molded into any shape.
January 9th, 2007 at 12:50 amI got hit by the spam filter, Emperor. Can you help me out? Thanks.
WEC
January 9th, 2007 at 12:50 amThis has become a pattern. BTW, I am not some right-wing-paranoid-gun owner or whatever stereotype you want to use. I believe Oswald killed JFK.
I just don’t get it. WHY is the government constantly hushing up terrorist shit?? Do they think we’re stupid and don’t read?
Here are my examples: OK City bombing, more than 50 people swore they saw another man w/ McVeigh who looked just like an Iraqi colonel. And Terry Nichols went to the Phillipines and met with a Muslim terrorist group there a few months before. Coincidentally that was where Ramzi Yusuf (1993 bombing of WTC) was planning to attack airliners.
Oct. 2005- A college student becomes the first American to commit suicide by bomb, right outside the U of Oklahoma (what is it with Oklahoma?) football stadium, which was coincidentally packed with 85,000 people. Law enforcement went to the suite where he lived with his Pakistani roommates and swore that it took more than a day to remove all the explosives in there. Then the President of the University, former Senator David Boren, IMMEDIATELY issues a statement that this was not terrorism. How did he know this kid?
Jersey City a few years ago: The Egyptian Coptic family. The father had a website against Islam. Coincidentally, the WHOLE FAMILY was not only murdered, but mutilated in a specific way common to vengeful Moslems. Then we are told it’s just some common thieves. And nothing more, it disappears.
The red points from laser guns hitting the planes coming into Detroit airport. The missile that MANY people saw hit TWA Flt 800. And so much more.
And forget it if it’s an attack against Jews! The media just assumes that, well you know, they hate the Jews, it’s not really terrorism. So you have an attack on a Jewish community center in Seattle, a few weeks later, California, and then there was the Egyptian who on July 4, 2002 went into the El Al terminal at LAX and started shooting, killing 2 people. The FBI says it was NOT TERRORISM, the Egyptian was just despondent because his wife had gone back to Egypt to visit the family.
I am really fed up with this shit. And I don’t understand why they keep doing it! They have all these colors for terrorism alerts, but when something actually HAPPENS, the official line is “Nothing happened.”
Can someone PLEASE tell me what is going on?
January 9th, 2007 at 1:00 amReaderjp, I have a lot of those kind of questions myself, and I believe the answer is this:
If our Ruling Class Elites allowed the reality of what’s going on to get out, the peasants and peons that get their news from The Daily Shit and the MSM, the ones who think American Idiots and Gay, Straight or Taken and The Spew are quality entertainment might wake up from the comas they have been in since about 9-11-02, and demand to be protected.
And because the Ruling Class couldn’t scrape up a set of balls if they cut open every scrotum in D.C., they know they would be revealed as the limp-dick, nutless wonders they are, and would face ejection from their precious Elite For Life positions of power. And the thought of being without power and having to go out into the real world among the unwashed masses and get a real job scares them shitless.
And the MSM goes along with it because they know if we peons were to elect a REAL government OF, BY, and FOR the people, the tit they’ve been sucking on that gives them a sense of security and self-worth would dry up over-night. And that thought scares THEM shitless.
January 9th, 2007 at 2:18 amI just got spam-filtered…. I know that I haven’t been on in a week, but my ISP and I have been at loggerheads… I wanted intertube access, they wanted money and I ain’t had none ’til the other day…
But we have kissed and made up. I’ll chalk it up to not being here while the upgrades have been going on or until I get a “Screw You, Hippy” note from the Management… :help_tb:

We use Ethyl Mercaptan as a backup evacuation device on Australian mines. Its commonly known as stench gas for a good reason. Takes about 40 minutes to get along about 5km of workings. The poor sod that sets it off has NO friends until he goes and has a good scrub abd change of clothes. The cylinder we use nolds about 250ml of fluid to give you an idea of its strength.
January 9th, 2007 at 5:12 am[…] Following up on the story about the Arabs arrested at the Port of Miami yesterday, a box tested positive 6 times for C4, but the FBI now claims it was a “false positive” and the box contained “sprinkler parts”. I believe that about as much as Misha. Posted by Ian S. in […]
January 9th, 2007 at 8:17 amOkay, here we go…
The reality is not as strange as it sounds.
Several years ago, I worked in the water treatment field, treating boilers, chillers, cooling towers and sprinkler systems. One of the chemicals we used was nitrite to prevent corrosion.
Some of our customers were government installations and we would routinely catch the attention of the bomb sniffing dogs because they were detecting the nitrite in our vans and on our clothing.
A friend of mine who is still in the business flew in to Seattle last summer from New York and was detained at the airport because he set off alarms and the dogs who detected traces of nitrite in his clothing. After two hours of explaining who he was and what he did for a living, they finally let him go.
The point is, these sprinkler heads (fire sprinkler parts, not the lawn sprinklers you are thinking of) were probably treated through a pacification process and therefore would cause a dog trained to look for nitrate and nitrites to immediately pick it out.
January 9th, 2007 at 9:56 amliberalclit, make sure you got all that pit hair braided up nice and tight. We don’t need to be scraping greasy pit hair off the floor once you’ve worn out your welcome and had a size 11 jammed up your crusty ass aiming you at the door.

January 9th, 2007 at 10:47 amOK, Deej, you may have a point that *SOMETIMES* there can be false positives. What you haven’t explained however is how SIX tests could ALL give false positives — and NOT for *nitrites* but (unless the results were misreported) for a SPECIFIC explosive. I mean, it’s not like C4 is the only explosive out there, and (assuming it even contains them — I don’t know) it’s definately not the only explosive that containes nitrites. There’s other stuff in the C## series I believe, and there’s plenty of other military explosives, plenty of other homemade ones… etc. So how (and why) did they specifically say they tested for C4 six times and the tests said it was there every time they ran them yet “nothing to see here, move along?”
It doesn’t add up. Unless the operator was a total idiot, somebody is mistaken or lying or both. It might be the person who reported that the test found C4 — he might have just pulled an explosive out of his hat to sound more knowledgeable than he was. It might have been the person in the truck. Or it might be somebody else, and if the latter… tum te tum tum…

January 9th, 2007 at 11:19 amSORRY CRUNCHIE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET TO THE LAST FEW MEETINGS. BEEN BUSY STOCKPILLING “SUPPLIES” FOR THE COMING STORM. :guns_tb:
ISLAM ITS A BLAST!
January 9th, 2007 at 11:43 amWhy? They did their job. They identified a suspicious package and dealt with it the only way they could — especially after six tests. I would rather they err on the side of caution, than just ignore it in case it might turn out to be a false positive.
If anything, it demonstrates that someone is watching the entry levels close enough to stop even the false positives from getting in. If we can catch a package of fire sprinklers that aren’t dangerous explosions, we can certainly stop the actual ones from being slipped in.
The system is working.
It’s the level of nitrites that “suggested” it might have been C4. I suspect they kept running the same types of test six times, not six different tests to narrow down the substance. They detected nitrites in a package marked as carrying exactly what it was — fire sprinkler parts. Most people wouldn’t make the connection between the sprinkler parts and nitrite, so they were obviously more suspicious.
January 9th, 2007 at 11:51 amDJ: Since you have worked with fire sprinklers and say it is possible for materials in them to test as potential explosives, I am inclined to believe you.
The part of the story I’m having problems with is that, from what I have read, the driver told inspectors he was traveling alone. Later, two other guys were found hiding in the back of the truck. Supposedly, the two in the back were legal immigrants - so why would they be hiding? It doesn’t make sense to me, unless they were up to some sort of bullshit.

January 9th, 2007 at 4:24 pmNitrites have kind of gone out vogue. Something about them effecting brain cell activity. It seems to cause the dread disease “Liberalism” :lol_wp:
Seriously though, nitrites aren’t used much anymore. Molybdate works better, is safer and supposedly better for the environment. I don’t think we use it at all anymore and typically, you wouldn’t treat the pipe or fittings until you put them into the system.
This story has too many questions and not enough sensible answers.
Nitrite is still used in treating many closed loop systems. True, Molybdate is better for some systems, but nitrite is cheaper, and most customers go for cheap — especially fire sprinkler contractors who are trying to pacify their systems.
Although I have been out of the field for a few years now, I still have a lot of friends still working and they still use nitrite more often than they do molybdate. Besides, I am not sure you really would want to use molybdate in a chilled closed loop. Molybdate is more of a boiler treatment.
January 9th, 2007 at 7:10 pm… Hello? Why are there two guys hiding in the back of the truck …?
January 9th, 2007 at 8:07 pmAccording to littlegreenfootballs, the guys were hauling auto parts. The article said the manifest agreed with the actual contents of the truck. There is still confusion as to whether the two passengers were riding in the front or back of the truck. The driver indicated there were no passengers. Got any more information or explanations? Where can you get accurate news these days?
January 9th, 2007 at 8:27 pmI’m a bit confused… was this incident part of the sprinkler incident? I was under the impression that they were two separate incidents and unrelated.
January 10th, 2007 at 8:42 amThey were separate incidents. I’m not going to post here but I do work at the port AND for the company that owns the ship that the package was destined on. What DJ Allyn has said is EXACTLY right.
The ship is an older ship and is in the middle of having its fire prevention equipment upgraded based on SOLAS requirements. My boss was on a meeting on that ship, and I watched them move it away from the pier, and he said they moved everyone to other side of the ship. Then, CBP, USCG and a bomb squad blew up the container. And that was that.
100% of EVERYTHING gets checked going on our ships and there are commonly false positives. Right next to our parking lot is where all the freight containers are. This area has to be the heaviest policed and guarded area I think in Miami. I was a little more scared coming to work around election time. When you have to go through one major checkpoint to get on a bridge and then 7 more to park your car, it is a bit unnerving.
January 10th, 2007 at 10:47 amAnd liberalslut, go fuck yourself, you fucking twat. I’m one of these people, you whore, and I would love for someone just like you to spew your shit in my face. And as your ugly ass starts calling me a fucking redneck, it will sound like this:
rednaaaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaa
because at that point, I will be shoving the heel of my Jimmy Choos up your fucking ass. Then when I’m done, I’ll drive your skanky ass down to the bean fields, point at the illegal, criminal immigrants picking beans with sunburns on the back of their neck and explain to your dumb ass what a redneck is. Fucking whore.
January 10th, 2007 at 10:54 amI want to add BiW nailed it too. A family member of mine that works for homeland defense has said the same thing. What is surprising is no one questioned the number being used about how many terrorists have been caught? There is shit going on all the time. When I tried to pry, I was told, Staci, if you all knew, no one would go out. And you don’t let the enemy know you about to ambush them.
January 10th, 2007 at 11:03 amReaderjp… you said:
“Oct. 2005- A college student becomes the first American to commit suicide by bomb, right outside the U of Oklahoma ”
Interestingly, I attended a UofM Game here in Miami, on the same day as the UofO event you mention.
We had a bomb scare too that day, before the game. The bomb squad detonated a duffel bag just outside of the stadium and just outside of the area where we were tailgating. They moved us back a bit and then they took care of business.
The same day! Wow, what a coincidence!
January 10th, 2007 at 11:21 amLinda, what part of Miami do you live in? I’m in South Miami, by Scully’s off Sunset Drive.
January 10th, 2007 at 11:32 amThat nails it, and I think is a great answer for readerjp. Great “non-posts”, Staci. Also, excellent technical info by DJ and maxxdog. Too bad it didn’t come earlier in the thread.
BTW, to digress all the way back to #3 Duke Fenton and Wild eyed Charlie’s reply in #26, you may want to consider picking up something in 7.62 x 39 as this is the std. caliber of the AK-47, the preferred weapon of our enemies. I would suggest the SKS, as it is more pleasant to shoot than the AK, even though the length of pull on the stock may be too short for some. 7.62 x 39 gives another option for scrounging ammo from dead hajis.
January 10th, 2007 at 11:34 amSo, let me see if I’ve got this all straight..We have sprinkler parts that smell of C-4 in miami, we have mercaptin spreading through out new york, we have dead birds in texas, and probing attacks against national guard troops on the border (listening to the sound of black helecopters circling over my house)….I’m reminded of something I once read that paranoid/schizophrenics do make good spies as they are too trusting.
January 10th, 2007 at 11:35 amI should have emphasized there was more Irish. What I said is known.
January 10th, 2007 at 11:36 amI have to say, I am not comfortable with the incident on Sunday involving the driver. Something DOES stink there.
January 10th, 2007 at 11:37 amFrom MyFoxNews
What jumping to conclusions will get you.
January 10th, 2007 at 1:55 pmI was just offering an explanation, not jumping to, or on anything. It could have been swamp gas, the natural smell of New Jersey with a wind shift, or some guy transporting Mercaptan with a drippy valve.
As far as swamp gas, that is composed mainly of methane (usually 55-77%), and I think that any detectable amounts of this would have caused a little more of a stir.
I’ll stick with the Mercaptan because I’ve seen the FD show up when just a few drops have gotten spilled at our sight. I don’t know the restrictions on acquiring this chemical, because that equipment belongs to the Gas Co. and we don’t touch it, but, if I wanted to be paranoid, I could say that this was a terrorist plot to disrupt NYC, but I really lean towards an accidental discharge that nobodys going to fess up to.
January 10th, 2007 at 2:36 pmStacy, I live in North Miami Beach, I work downtown on Brickell. We are not quite neighbors, but close enough. I’m often in your neighborhood on the weekends.

January 10th, 2007 at 10:43 pmLinda, I work in the Port of Miami, so you work close by! Cool. Would love to meet a Miami Rottie. I’ll drop by your blog and leave a note. Maybe we can grab a beer or something.
Oh, and the Florida Rottfest should be happening soon in Tampa. Was a blast last year. Should look into going. Talk at ya later.
January 11th, 2007 at 11:31 amPlease do Staci, a beer sounds like a great idea!
