Yesterday, we made a comment at Hot Air in response to where the media was about the air strikes in Somalia:
First, they have to find a way of ascribing it to the divine ascendancy of Reichsfuhrer Pelosi to the throne.
Second, they’ll have to find a way of describing a plane as being “stuck in an unwinnable quagmire” and, thirdly, they’re all waiting for AP to invent an “eyewitness” testifying that the gunship actually took out three orphanages, seven weddings, fifteen mosques and a partridge in a pear tree.
Today, the Associated Pants (on fire) reports:
MOGADISHU, Somalia - Helicopter gunships attacked suspected al-Qaida fighters in the south Tuesday after U.S. forces staged airstrikes in the first offensive in the African country since 18 American soldiers were killed there in 1993, witnesses said.
Witnesses said 31 civilians, including two newlyweds, died in the assault by two helicopters near Afmadow,
That didn’t take long, now did it?
All we can say is that, should you ever find yourself invited to a Hajji wedding, it might be a good idea to politely decline.

There might have been two newlyweds, but who cares? Just sayin’, a little chlorine in the gene pool over there isn’t all that bad….

January 9th, 2007 at 10:14 pmI didn’t know Somalia had legalized gay marriage… or was it interspecies?
January 9th, 2007 at 10:21 pmWhat the hell are newlyweds doing in an al-queerda camp? Sometimes the company you keep can get you killed.
January 9th, 2007 at 10:44 pmQ: Why did the Al-Queda terrorist cross the road?
A: “Cause his dick was stuck in a goat.
Here comes the bride, all dressed in towels. Sing along kids, you know the rest
January 9th, 2007 at 10:53 pmhmm… 1oldleg I think you messed up the lyrics… it’s it supposed to go like this?
Here comes the bride, carried by her dad.
Up on his shoulders because she’s only five.
Here comes the bride, wishing she was free.
To play with toy dolls like other kids her age.
…Or something like that… right??

January 9th, 2007 at 11:20 pmIs anybody else amazed that there seemingly has not been a single civilian causality in Somalia during the last 3 weeks of open combat?
Well until a US gunship cleans some rags out of the closet that is!
January 9th, 2007 at 11:44 pmI notice the article didn’t claim they were “non-combatants”. As for the “newlyweds”, so what? Hitler was a newlywed too when the Rooskies caused him to eat his gun. As far as they know, that was Osama himself who just got hitched.
No kidding, BisW. I’ve heard of battlefield commissions, but what’s with this muzzy custom of battlefield weddings anyway?
January 9th, 2007 at 11:44 pmOh to any who may have been confused by my horrible butchery of the here comes the bride lyrics, that was supposed to be what the hajji sing at the weddings… sorry that I forgot to make that clear…

The goats are more accommodating, but they don’t cook so well…..
January 10th, 2007 at 12:08 amWell, at least when they marry their goats, the bride gets eaten out on her honeymoon.

January 10th, 2007 at 7:00 amYesterday, on the radio national news, the teaser was “Terror from the Skies.” Then, the news went into the description of the AC-130 gunship support. That teaser illustrates the slant and bias of their story.

January 10th, 2007 at 2:46 pmI thought they used an AC-130, or are these different airstrikes? Whichever, well done. :thumbup_tb:
Come to think of it, some of them did get well done. :twisted_wp:
