So This Is Called “Caving In?”
Posted by: Emperor Misha I in Blogs and Blogging, News from Denmark, Religion of Pus1:32 pm
There’s been a lot of blather than Jyllands-Posten has “caved in” to the Assholes for Allah’s hysterical demands by publishing their now infamous “apology.”
Well, thanks to LC & IB Viking Observer, we bring you a translation of what Jyllands-Posten has to say about that. A snippet here, but do go read the whole thing:
On September 30th last year we published 12 drawings as part of a debate on the increasing self-censorship in the media and the arts - some of the artists had directed their satire against Jyllands-Posten itself, but we take that smiling. That is part of an open and free debate.
Some moslems have felt offended to a degree we did not foresee, and this we feel sorry for, and we repeat that that was not our intent.
When that is said, we dont have anything more to regret, and The Morning Paper Jyllands-Posten has nothing to apologize for. [Emphases ours — Emp.M.]
If that’s “caving in”, we’d hate to see what they’d have to say if they were “standing firm.” Our innocent little eyes might burn out just reading the invective.
We had a gut feeling that Jyllands-Posten were “Dick Durbin’ing” it by saying “listen, we’re sorry if you’re too fucking dumb to understand what all of this is about, so there. Now shut up.”
Turns out we were right. Again. It’s getting to be boring being right all the time.
In the meantime, the fwench jump on board, publishing the cartoons as well. And the Germans too. Not to mention the Italians and Spaniards. And let’s not forget the Dutch either. UPDATE: And, according to a graphic in the comments posted by LC HolgerDanske, Iceland, Switzerland and Norway too.
Now, if only our own “brave” U.S. MSM would re-discover their balls and be as fearless and principled as the fucking fwench…
Tell me again who is really “caving in”, please?

February 1st, 2006 at 1:41 pmAs far as television here in the US (damn international audience), I honestly cannot remember hearing any mention of this at all. But if the unwashed masses where to learn of how petty the mooselimbs are, people might get the idea that it really isn’t a religion of peace.

February 1st, 2006 at 1:48 pmWell, I’m not denying a certain sense of pride that the tiny little country of my birth has managed to show more cojones than the vast majority of other EUnuch nations (except now it looks like even the most feckless of the rest of them are jumping on board), I’ve also always been fiercely proud that Denmark was one of the first nations to join the Coalition and that they haven’t budged an inch no matter how many threats have been issued from the Axis of Assholes.
But there’s a greater issue as well, which is the Dhimmification of EUnuchistan.
If you look at the other EUroweenie countries and their responses to whines and complaints from the mooselimbs in the past, they’ve always caved. Torch Paris? Let’s give them more money. Whine about English flags being “racist”? Forbid the wearing of them to prison guards. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Until now, when somebody over there finally said “OK, that’s fucking ENOUGH!”
And yes, I am unabashedly proud of the fact that those somebodies were the Danes.

February 1st, 2006 at 2:20 pmI am just glad that some nation in Europe has the stones to look these assholes in the face and say “Fuck us for speaking our minds in our country? Fuck you for thinking you have anything to say about it. Go fuck a goat or something.”

By now, things are developing so fast that its hard to keep track:
Hungary sides with Denmark. Says the Hungarian foreign minister: “To us, freedom of speech is a cornerstone of a functioning democracy”. The arab reaction is “unfitting”.

Living in the 21st century, we take our freedoms and tolerance for granted. Feel free to disagree with me, but I prefer some credit where credit’s due. Declaring a Jihad over a cartoon, however distateful, is just so Dark Ages. And it really boggles ….

Of course, being a turncoat isn’t easy, when no winners are apparent.
That, however, shows us the turncoats clearly.
So take note! Remember! And stand fast!
February 1st, 2006 at 7:50 pmSure makes these Danish cookies taste better…..they are damn good. February 1st, 2006 at 8:16 pmCOPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Denmark’s Prime Minister said on Sunday his government could not act against satirical cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed after Libya closed its embassy in Copenhagen amid growing Muslim anger over the dispute.

The newspaper Jyllands-Posten had not intended to insult Muslims when it published the drawings, Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen said, referring to an editorial on the paper’s Web site in Danish and Arabic.
But while Rasmussen tried to assuage Muslim anger, Libya on Sunday closed its embassy in Denmark in protest at the drawings.
Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia recalled its ambassador from Denmark and Saudi religious leaders have urged a boycott of Danish products.
“Because the Danish media had continued to show disrespect to the Prophet Mohammed and because the Danish authorities failed to take any responsible action on that, Libya decided to close its embassy in Copenhagen,” the Libyan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It also threatened to take unspecified “economic measures” against Denmark.
EU trade chief Peter Mandelson met a Saudi minister at a meeting in the Swiss mountain resort of Davos on Sunday and “urged the minister to convey the seriousness of this issue to his government,” his spokesman said.
“Any boycott of Danish goods would be seen as a boycott of European goods,” said spokesman Peter Power.
DEMONSTRATION
Islam considers images of prophets disrespectful and caricatures of them blasphemous.
Since Jyllands-Posten published the drawings in September, the Danish government has repeatedly defended the right of free speech.
“The government can in no way could influence the media. And the Danish government and the Danish nation as such can not be held responsible for what is published in independent media,” Fogh Rasmussen said.
The newspaper has not apologized for publishing the drawings, which have caused widespread anger among Muslims around the world.
In a demonstration on the
West Bank, members of
Fatah’s al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades threatened Danes in the area and told them to leave immediately, the Danish news agency Ritzau reported on Sunday.
The demonstrators burned the Danish flag and called on the Palestinian authorities to cut diplomatic ties with Denmark, Ritzau said.
“We are sorry the matter has reached these proportions and repeat that we had no intention to offend anyone, and that we as the rest of the Danish society respect freedom of religion,” the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Carsten Juste said in the editorial.
Fogh Rasmussen was speaking at a joint news conference with visiting Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who said he was satisfied with the newspaper’s explanation and the Danish government’s view.
“Prime Minister Rasmussen explained Denmark’s position on that (the drawings), which was very satisfactory to me as a Muslim,” Karzai said.
The Danish government has broad public backing for it stance on the cartoons. An opinion poll showed that 79 percent of Danes think Fogh Rasmussen should not issue an apology and 62 percent say the newspaper should not apologize.
February 1st, 2006 at 8:42 pmWell, d’oh, the cartoons are disrespectful. Most comedy is irreverent. Respect just isn’t FUNNY. What exactly DO these people find funny? And why do they think anyone should dish respect in their direction when they aren’t exactly returning the favor? HUMORLESS and CLUELESS! :cuckoo:
