What do you get when a previously largely unknown newspaper in an itty-bitty country in northern Europe publishes a dozen innocuous cartoons of a medieval madman?

Why, you get members of the “Religion of Peace” chopping up Christians in Africa, of course:

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria - Nigerian Muslims protesting caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad attacked Christians and burned churches on Saturday, killing at least 15 people in the deadliest confrontation yet in the whirlwind of Muslim anger over the drawings.

Nobody knows just what exactly Nigerian Christians had to do with the publication of the cartoons. Not that it matters to the rampaging ratfaces of the Religion of Pus.

It was the first major protest to erupt over the issue in Africa’s most populous nation. An Associated Press reporter saw mobs of Muslim protesters swarm through the city center with machetes, sticks and iron rods.

“Swarm” is a very good choice of word for them. Except for the fact that it’s an insult to locusts.

One group threw a tire around a man, poured gas on him and set him ablaze.

Or, as it’s also known, “necklacing.”

Oh yes, we surely ought to invest huge amounts of time and money into finding out how to appease those noble savages who, after all, are merely acting out their understandable anger over those “unacceptable” and “offensive” cartoons.

Or we could invest a few minutes in punching in new target co-ords for a few of those ICBMs that we don’t seem to be able to find a practical use for anymore.

In Libya, the parliament suspended the interior minister after at least 11 people died when his security forces attacked rioters who torched the Italian consulate in Benghazi.

Of course. The man used the forces at his disposal to quell a riot before innocents could get chopped to pieces or burned alive, so the only logical thing to do is to suspend him. The only pity is that only 11 of the apes got offed in the process.

Right-wing Italian Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli resigned under pressure, accused of fueling the fury in Benghazi by wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with one of the offending cartoons, first published nearly five months ago in a Danish newspaper.

More EUroweenie dhimmitude. A minister wears a T-shirt in Italy and a mob of mooselimb morons use it as an excuse to commit an act of war in Libya. How to respond? Let’s fire the minister! Oh, and while you’re at it, why don’t you just surrender the entire country to the mohammedan mongoloids and build a few mosques in Rome? Or will it take two T-shirts before that happens?

UPDATE: LC Fabio writes to us from Italy, pointing out that the article doesn’t paint a full picture of the situation. I wouldn’t expect it to, being from the mainstream media. He also points out that the job of a minister isn’t to make cheap publicity stunts, something with which I agree completely, but that isn’t the point here. If I’d had a minister doing something like that, I’d most certainly have chewed his ass out in the privacy of my office and let him know in no uncertain terms that there would be no repetitions or else. But that would’ve been the end of it. It wouldn’t have left the office for the very simple reason that concessions in the face of violence, no matter how “small” the concessions, only serve to encourage more violence. If the West keeps surrendering, the muslim nutcases will keep on rioting.

Danish church officials met with a top Muslim cleric in Cairo, meanwhile, but made no significant headway in defusing the conflict.

Here’s how to defuse it: Tell the followers of the pedophile prophet to suck it up and shut up, then cease to talk to them at all. Continuing to lend credence to their hotheaded hissyfits by “negotiating” with them will only make it worse. After all, as long as you keep coming up with concessions, why on EARTH would they ever consider stopping?

Thousands of rioters burned 15 churches in Maiduguri in a three-hour rampage before troops and police reinforcements restored order, Nigerian police spokesman Haz Iwendi said. Iwendi said security forces arrested dozens of people in the city about 1,000 miles northeast of the capital, Lagos.

Chima Ezeoke, a Christian Maiduguri resident, said protesters attacked and looted shops owned by minority Christians, most of them with origins in the country’s south.

“Most of the dead were Christians beaten to death on the streets by the rioters,” Ezeoke said. Witnesses said three children and a priest were among those killed.

Tell us again why we should be issuing anything but ultimatums to those camel-humping clapweasels?

No, skip the ultimatums and let’s go directly to the distribution of massive, brutal and merciless destruction.

It’s long overdue for the shoe to get on the other foot.
