Messing with my friends is another, particularly when they’re not asking for it. It tends to piss me off, and I get very disagreeable when I’m pissed off. More disagreeable than usual, which is saying quite a bit.

[Oh, and P.S.: Threatening people with the FBI, directly or indirectly, went out of style just around the time I reached puberty. If you ever had any connections there, I’m sure they’re busy pretending that they never heard your name by now. Grow up.]

February 20th, 2006 at 4:36 pmAs much as I dislike the “C” word, Misha, I still have to say: you were right about Debbie Schlussel the first time. Except I’m not sure even cunt is a strong enough epithet to describe her, given her attacks on your friends…and now even their close family members.
And Schlussel is actually supposed to be a conservative? This sort of scorched-earth, take-no-prisoners, there-are-no-innocent-victims attitude is the sort of thing we expect out of the Kos Kidz and Democratic Underground, not the people on our side of the fence.
A couple of comment threads back, I compared Schlussel’s threatened SLAPP suit against you to the various legal actions taken by Islamic extremists against media outlets and commentators both here in North America and in Europe. One specific example I cited was the Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci, who is facing both a “hate crimes” lawsuit and public death threats from radical Islamists, such as this “artwork” - La Decapitata Fallaci - currently on display in an Italian art festival.
When I first posted that link, I wondered, semi-facetiously, if that would be Schlussel’s tactic as well: first threaten you with a lawsuit, then demand your head. Given that she’s decided to start going after everybody around you, I’m not so sure that it’s a joke anymore…especially given how hysterically unhinged Schlussel seems to be getting.

Flusshel is the blogosphere’s Jayson Blair at this point. All she had to do was send a link and tell Beth, “There, you happy now?” Instead she goes on the offensive and attacks her. I guess these gas stations are so secret, no one except Flusshel is authorized to divulge that information.
She has my vote for Most Annoying Blogger. That’s for sure.

This Schlussel woman seems to be seriously insecure about herself and also seems to revel in any attention given to her….and I think we’re all unintentionally giving her much MUCH more time in the limelight that she ever could have gotten on her own, judging by her miniscule talents. For every one of us who vows never to read that amateurish blog of hers, there are probably 2 or three who go there just to see what the fuss is all about. Before this whole thing fired up, I had never heard of her…now I know what she looks like, how to spell her name, and the URL of her third rate sloppily designed blog. That is WAY more than I care to know about her. With all of this attention, and I do believe she is feeding the fire with her venom, she is becoming better known and getting more hits on that third rate website of hers because of the notoriety she is building…
Personal opinion? I think she is doing all of this on purpose, to promote herself….she is a Coulter wannabe. I say ignore her, turn off the limelight. She deserves to be sent back to the anonymity and irrelevance that she slopped around in before this whole thing flared up.

As I have said before, the honorable approach would have been for her to engage you in a battle of wits and prose, rather than oppress you with her greater financial resources. It is now apparent that she didn’t take you on for the same reason that I would refuse to try blocking Warren Sapp.
On one of the threads, Blackiswhite made some very cogent remarks about the impropriety of a lawyer using her professional status to bully a layman. Ms. Schlussel has done nothing but embarrass herself.
