Count On The Vikings To Tell It Like It Is

Over at LC & IB Agora’s, we find news that the Danish politicians are busy speaking truth to power regarding the poor Afghan guy who faces the noose for daring to convert from Islam.
While our own pols are busy trying to save Abdul Rahman by expressing “concern”, the descendants of the Vikings put it more bluntly, to say the very least. A few of our favorites:
Spokesman on Foreign Issues, Naser Khader, Social Liberals:
The government must act on this matter and show that Denmark is at the forefront in the fight for Human Rights and international rule of law. That is why we are in Afghanistan. If necessary, the Danish forces in country must liberate Abdul Rahman and offer him asylum in Denmark. This case underlines the need for Sharia law to be fought wherever it is found.”
Mr. Khader is a Muslim, by the way.
Meanwhile, CAIR issued the following statement of support:
[…]

[…]
Just as we expected from a Hamas front organization.
Spokesman on Foreign Issues, Søren Espersen, Danish People’s Party:
“I don’t give a damn what laws they think they have.
Yes, he IS a politician. A refreshing change from the mealy-mouthed non-statement gushing forth from our own politicians like pus from an inflamed bubo, no? He continues:
We are sort of an authority in Afghanistan and the President must prevent an execution, or we’ll give it to him good.
No. “Give it to him good” does not mean issue umpteen diplomatic notes of concern while doing nothing concrete. Not in Danish it doesn’t. It means “burn down their villages, rape their livestock and eat their women, in no specific order.”
If the Americans, the British and the Danes weren’t there, President Hamid Karzai would be butcher’s meat in the roadside before long. He knows the stakes and he better do what the Allies say in this matter.”
And the Canadians, we should add, not to mention the other Coalition forces in the area. All it takes is a recall order to Karzai’s foreign bodyguard and he becomes an exceedingly poor insurance risk immediately.
Yes, he does owe us. Time to collect a debt, if you ask His Majesty.
Now, as we’ve bored you silly with talking about in the past, Danes aren’t easily pissed off. They’ll take incredible amounts of crap and keep smiling at you while they reach for their broadsword, so when they reach the point where they decide to cut out the Mr. Nice Guy bit, you’d damn well better start listening. Either that or prepare for the worst.
As to whether the Danish forces in Afghanistan are up to the job, should push come to shove, don’t worry. They may be very few compared to the other forces there, but the Danish elite “Jægerkorps” are more than up to the task. Like the SAS, minus the gentle manners and charming personalities.

And that’s why I’m proud to have Danish blood (mixed with Irish and a dash of Cherokee) in my veins.
On a lighter note, I wonder if the reason the Jaegerkorps lack “the gentle manners and charming personalities” of the SAS is that (possibly) their drink of choice might be Jaegermeister rather than the SAS’s gin. I’ve tried it before, and it can be some nasty stuff.
And then on an esoteric note, rape originally meant simply theft, so raping livestock mightn’t be that sick. They’d probably kill for some fresh beef and lamb. And I bet, after a few months of mostly male company, those Danes might be willing to eat the women (out).
March 26th, 2006 at 12:19 amThis was my favorite quote, from Søren Espersen:
What the Afghans might not realize is that he’s talking about literal thumb screws. We Westerners invented all sorts of neat mechanical “toys” back in our middle ages. We’re just clever that way.
March 26th, 2006 at 1:57 amMany Christians are being beaten in Afghanistan.
Karazai better step up and protect them. Our troops are there, may Christians. Think it is time the muslim world understands that we understand that Islam is *not* a religion of peace and tolerance.
March 26th, 2006 at 2:51 amIf only our government would take a hint from the Dane’s. Finally someone stands up to the muzzies and tells them how it’s going to be if they expect our help.
The Dane’s have earned so much of my respect with the direction they are taking their country. They took it to the brink of sociallism and decided they didn’t like it and reversed course. Now they are the ones to state, unequivocally, that if you want a place in the modern world, you have to adapt to our rules, or there will be real consequenses even if we have to do ourselves.
March 26th, 2006 at 3:40 amEven thought I can’t speak for the troops that are there… When I was in the USN, my guess, would be. They are looking the other way and if any of the goat humpers start to move in our way. ‘Keep Back’ but please don’t…
March 26th, 2006 at 5:02 amLast line should read. Give them a ‘Keep Back’ look but hope they don’t. With a look in their eyes that says, ain’t killed a ‘little sheet head’ recently…
March 26th, 2006 at 5:10 amWow, someone with the cojones to stand up for themselves and their beliefs. I wish our politicians would take a page from the Danes.
March 26th, 2006 at 6:26 amCAIR Calls For Release Of Afghan Christian
Now, if this has been out since Wednesday, how come nobody has heared this from the MSM? You would think CAIR would be shouting this from the rooftops as proof they are “moderate” and grounded in today’s world.
March 26th, 2006 at 7:04 amI am going to buy some havarti and Tuborg for my Sunday Festivities. Its being reported that the charges have been dropped.
March 26th, 2006 at 7:30 amAbout fooking time..Next trip Dean and I make to Amsterdam we will be heading North to visit our Danish friends and to eat some ham for allah…

March 26th, 2006 at 7:49 amDon’t forget, even before the cartoon et al, their Queen was on message.
March 26th, 2006 at 8:54 amCarlsberg, probably the best lager in the world.
I ran into Danes from time to time, when I lived in England. They are usually exceedingly hardcore. They can drink, they can fight, and they don’t like the fucking Germans.
It’s about time we stopped pussyfooting around these fucking monkeys. Karzai is ALIVE because we keep it that way; if he allows a man to die for converting from the ROP™ to Chrsitianity, then we should allow him to die too.
March 26th, 2006 at 9:24 amWell all sorts of weirdness is apparently happening in Dane land…
From the Agora blog site we have the following: Danish Imam Abu Laban knew about planned Martyr operation
Note some of the comment:
March 26th, 2006 at 9:27 amI would imagine many Danes wouldn’t mind a piece of somebodys ass right now, considering all the shit they’ve been handed. Their soldiers are second to none. It looks as if this poor guy will be released, due to international pressure, despite the frenzied rants of the clerics wanting him torn to pieces. No matter where he goes his life will be in danger. Like I’ve said, you kill one Christian, atheist or Jew, we take out ten thousand Muslims. Such a threat to their dominance. I’d just as soon kill these turkeys myself, but then they become martyrs.
March 26th, 2006 at 11:14 amWhat I have noticed is some pathetic apologists attempting to present Karzai’s recent move to dismiss charges against this man as proof of tolerance, open mindedness and grace. To that I say……
March 26th, 2006 at 12:04 pmBULLSHIT!!!
These fucking reformation/renaissance deficient assholes know damn good and well they may have pushed it too far one time too many…….even the liberals here won’t touch it.
They also know should our patience run out……nothing a B-52 can’t fix.
To those Muslims here….whay are now only now speaking up? Could it be that patience thing? Where in the hell were you after nine-eleven or our guys getting murdered over there? I know several Muslims here. All remain reclusive and secretive…..only one has mainstreamed. To them I would suggest you quit trying to change the rest of us and tell your fellows to knock off the seventh century bullshit.
I used to feel less hostility and suspicion as to their motives. Based on their actions, not my feelings, I simply don’t trust tham and don’t care. It will be a cold day in hell before I apologize to some mealy-mouthed coward seeking to present a facade of benevolent open-mindedness. I call it cowardice and deceit. The atomic bomb didn’t discriminate between good and bad……but the war did end soon thereafter, all Monday morning quarterbacks aside. God, now I do feel better……
The jaegercorps? One week in ‘03 I drank so much jaeger I was nearly a corpse myself. Wow what a terrific audience.
March 26th, 2006 at 1:51 pmAnd you are most welcome…
I would have shown a picture of the symbol of the jaegers here, but it seems not to work quite as I would like it.
Yes, “Jægerkorpset” is an elite unit of the Danish armed forces. It was put into service on march 1st 1785 under King Christian 7. This is also shown in the symbol of this unit. It is a hunting horn with C7 written in the centre. Its motto was “forrest mod fjenden” which means “first against the enemy”. This unit suffered the most casualties of the Danish armed forces due to the extreme tasks given to it. It was always at the front line and it always covered the rear of the army when retreating. This turned the men serving in the unit into skilled fighters, much beyond the level of the rest of the army.
One example is the battle of “Oversø” on april 24th in 1848 in the war against the Prussians. A Preussian force of a little more than 5000 men were advancing towards Flensburg and the jaegers were ordered to intercept them to shield the rest of the army. Bear in mind that the jaegers were no more than 200. Still they succeeded in fending of the Prussians grinding their advance to a halt. The jeagers were however defeated when the Prussians brought in reinforcements, but they had given the rest of the Danish army valuable time to regroup without a single loss. The commander of the Prussian army even called upon the senior officer in charge of the jeagers; who was in fact a lieutenant and second in command that was promoted when his commander fell that same day; and presented him with his sword as a sign of respect.
Another example is the battle of Dybbøl on April 18th 1864. The jeagers were ordered to hold their ground though they were outnumbered more than 40:1. The Danish army needed time to retreat to “Als” and the only thing standing between them and the Prussian army, were the jeagers. Despite heavy casualties the jeagers stood firm until they were allowed to retreat themselves.
However when mentioning “jægerkorpset” one should not just forget about “frømandskorpset”. That would be like speaking of Delta force and forgetting the Seals completely…
That, however is another story…
