I might be going a bit far out on a limb here, guys, but I for one have no problems with our intelligence agencies dragging terroist scumbags off the street and breaking fingers to get the information we need to prevent Los Angeles from going up a bright flash.

Heck, the jumpin’ jihadis in Iraq don’t seem to have any major opposition to kidnapping and torture, so why should we let them have exclusive rights to the franchise?

We’re in a war right now unlike any in human history, in that there are weapons out there that if obtained by our enemies would allow one terrorist to kill several million people.

All I can say is: It’s about freakin’ time. Perhaps a few targeted firings and criminal prosecutions - done as publicly as possible - will remind the leadership of both CIA and the State Department that Job One is to protect the country, and that they have no role in partisan politics.

Where three or more slightly different versions of the same story is leaked to those suspected of having big mouths.

When the correct story is discovered in the open, the list of suspects is quickly limited to one.

Fire her. Charge, interrogate and try her and the reporter she leaked to for Treason.

Sixteen Words, Again

In Sunday’s Washington Post Dafna Linzer and Barton Gellman provide their gullible readers with a reprise of one of the great myths of the runup to the Iraq war: that President Bush used blatantly false information to justify the war.

The story revolves around various claims by several intelligence services that Saddam’s agents were trying to buy uranium in Africa. At least three European services–the French, the Italian, and the British–told Washington about the reported Iraqi efforts. Some of the reports were carefully described as “unconfirmed.” Others were based on documents that were given to the American embassy in Rome by Italian journalists, some of which subsequently turned out to be forgeries. Still other reports were highly regarded by the Europeans, especially the British, which led President Bush to say, in his State of the Union speech (January 28, 2003): “The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.”

The consensus at CIA was highly critical of these reports (most CIA officials were against the war and didn’t want to be blamed for it), but the White House, understandably very suspicious of the quality of CIA’s information and analysis, had pushed hard to get more information. Ambassador Joe Wilson had been sent by CIA to Niger in 2002 to snoop around, at least in part because he came highly recommended by his wife, Valerie Plame, herself a CIA officer, and opposed to the war.

As we can see that MegaTroopX’s use of the word, “conspiracy” doesn’t seem to be to far out of line does it?

Mark Steyn writting in the Washington Times (did anyone expect the Washington Post NOT to lie?) noted back in 7-19-’04 that Wilson was a liar…

If my beer soaked memory serves me…The Soviets had a similar problem in Lebanon when everybody was merrily and desperately trying to kill everybody else. Great spectator sport if I may say so, but to my point. It seems that some members of the Great Goat Molesting Religion of Butt Fucking Farm Animals didn’t like the terms of sale the Evil Empire had imposed on the weapons they sent. Basically they could kill anybody they wanted but just don’t piss off the Americans, that was a no-no (they thought Reagan was sitting in the Oval Office drooling while he practicing pressing the button which scared the living shit out them). So they kidnapped five Soviet KGB agents working in Lebanon as advisors and sent notice that if their demands weren’t met they would kill the hostages. Bad move…number one rule if you got in bed with the Russians…DON’T FUCK WITH THE KGB.

Apparently they didn’t get the memo.

Well the KGB sent in the Spetnaz who promptly dragged the brother-in-law of the Jihadist-in-Charge off the street and lopped off his head and sent it back (all within 24 hours, they didn’t need committee to decide) with a note that if the hostages weren’t back in 24 hours he and his favorite camel would be next. The advisors were released with profuse apologies from the head Asshole for Allah…The Soviets never had a problem after that.

Now if some unnamed group/agency/hired guns were to do the same in Iraq instead some alleged secret prisons…think that the boys and girls would be home by Christmas?
