Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler » Ha! We’re Famous!

Well, on NPR anyways, but it’s a start.

LC Maggie was listening to NPR’s show “Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me!”, a quiz show about current events where the hosts pick a related quote or a hint and the guest has to figure out what event they’re referring to.

About 7 and a half minutes into the first segment, the quote they picked was “Kennedy, Booze, Vehicle. You Do The Math.”

Sound familiar? It should.

It was a great hit with the studio audience, judging by the roars of laughter.

They then went on to mention where they’d found it, so, to the people at NPR: Thanks for the plug, that was very nice of you.

Of course, what it means to this place is that His Imperial Vanity will now become even more insufferably full of himself if such a thing is, indeed, possible. We’ll definitely give it a try.

You can catch the broadcast in their archives here, either by listening to the whole show or, if you want to cut some corners, using the link to the first segment called “Who’s Carl This Time?” on the list below there. The text to the quiz, with the quote, is here.

Having listened to the first 7 minutes, though, I think they’ve got a new listener, because what I heard of the show until the plug came up was funny as all Hell. Provided that one doesn’t mind jokes that are, at times, directed at subjects near and dear to one’s heart, of course, and I don’t.

What is it again? Oh yes:

“Thou Shalt Not Take Thyself Too Seriously.”

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to figure out how to fit our head through the doors in the palace.

Can we still hang them? Please?

It can be funny, and I have listened to it.

But it’s mostly a load of liberal codswallop, and smug bashing of “flyover country”.

Oh, and another zinger about Ahmaritzcracker’s letter I loved was “a 19-page meandering screed so boringly predictable that, after reading it, even Michael Moore wanted to nuke them.”

I was pretty much astounded when I heard that quote on NPR this morning…I do listen to that show Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me… sure it has a liberal bias, but is pretty funny anyway. There is no such thing as bad publicity. You may get some new readers.

I find WWDTM to be one of the most entertaining and literate programs on radio, no matter whether commercial or taxpayer-funded.

What is next? Will you go mainstream? A mention on any of the MSM outlets utttered with any thing less than a sneer, uttered through clenched teeth, and I’ll take it as a cue to be disappointed. Kind of hard to hoist them on their own petard when them is one of us…

Not hardly. I’ve met the mainstream and they don’t like me. Of course, the feeling is mutual.

Oh God no, Sire…not mainstream. You’d be looked at like a turd in a punchbowl…..but all of us luv ya’ just the same and would be rootin’ you on. And you can bet many, many people remaining silent tacitly support you.

You know, being the Executive Producer of a nationally syndicated talk show, I could find a way to squeeze you into a segment or two. We have conservative guests on all the time, and the host (who shall remain nameless since I haven’t run this by him yet) is very respectful of his guests.

    Just a thought.

    Very cool, Misha.

I read the transcript link you posted and that is some funny shit that NPR’s doing. I’ll have to give it a listen.

Carl: “Kennedy, Booze, Vehicle. You Do The Math.”

That’s the blog called, anti-idiotarian-rottweiller talking about the vehicular adventures of which Kennedy?

Answer: Patrick Kennedy……..(OK it was a trick question. We would have accepted any of the Kennedys.)…….

Yeah LC HJ Caveman, that was some really funny stuff!
I’m surprised that would come out of NPR but I guess it’s a decent show based on Rotties™ comments. Who woulda thunk?

  19. maxxdog Comment by maxxdog UNITED STATES

Are we now going to see the Rotties hamming it up trying to get there wiseass remarks on the air?

Sure, I will float the idea in Monday’s meeting. It might take a couple of weeks to set up, depending on a variety of things, but I agree, it might be fun.

  22. Emperor Darth Misha I Comment by Emperor Darth Misha I UNITED STATES

Hey, I’m game. I’ll even clean up my language a bit so’s not to present a problem vis-a-vis regulations (not to mention that a segment consisting entirely of beeps might be a tad boring. Sound like a bloody emergency broadcast drill ;-) )

And it’d give listeners a chance to hear from a bona fide Right Wing Death Beast™ too.

  23. DJ Allyn, ITW Comment by DJ Allyn, ITW UNITED STATES

We’ve had a lot of Conservatives, Libertarians, and Objectivists on the program. To give you an idea how we handle our guests on the show, here are several of our broadcasts with different people from the Ayn Rand Institute. (requires RealPlayer)
