Yes, we should’ve written about this long ago and we would have, if it hadn’t been for the fact that we forgot. Then we forgot some more, and now everybody else in the Blogosphere are talking about it.

The prize of laziness is eternal me-tooism. *Sigh*.

Anyway, what we’re referring to is, of course, the true intent behind Ahmadinnerjacket’s laughable 19-page screed.

As LC & IB Robert Spencer noted on May 9th, and he knows a thing or two about the Religion of Pus and its “Holy” Book, it’s not necessarily good news when a Muslim leader writes you and calls you to Islam. It’s not just a friendly invitation to come have some falafels and humorous banter with the rest of the congregation at the mosque.

It’s something that Islam requires of the faithful, right before they launch an all-out war against you.

Mr. Spencer elaborates further on the subject here, and the conclusions are anything but reassuring.

And if you’re still thinking ‘take off the tinfoil crown, Emperor’, you might want to peruse this link from May 8th, sent to us by LC Moriarty. The first two paragraphs follow, but do read the whole thing:

The Islamic Republic of Iran is planning to use as many as eight different terrorist groups to launch attacks against the United States and its allies in the region should the United States launch military strikes against its nuclear facilities, a London-based newspaper reported.

Another Iranian intelligence source tells NewsMax that Iran plans suicide strikes in the United States, and may seek to hold mass numbers of Americans hostage.

Are we being alarmist?

You be the judge of that, but we prefer being on the ready, even if it turns out that we didn’t have to be, over being caught with our britches around our ankles.

Are we afraid that we’re in danger of being defeated?

Not in the least bit. There’s no way in Hell that Ahmapoofterhead can defeat us but, to use an analogy: The Nazis didn’t defeat us in the Battle of the Bulge either (and they were a damn sight more capable than Ahmabobblehead’s rag tag raghead rodents), but is there any debate that our losses would’ve been lighter and our victory sooner, had we been prepared for December 16th, 1944?

All we’re saying is: Keep your powder dry and plentiful and, if you don’t already have one, now would probably be a good time to get that CHL you’ve always been thinking about. An extra gun, long and short, or two in the house wouldn’t be such a bad idea either.

Thatisall.

    Caveman,

Like any sensible person, I know we’re both hoping that this is nothing more than the usual hot air expelled from usual the dark, stinky places. Likely as not, it will come to nothing. That said, the possibility of Iran doing something extremely stupid worries me more than, say, the Soviets did.

The Russians had nukes (and a lot of them) targeted on the US and us likewise; what kept us all “safe” was MAD. The Russians, from what I know of them, may have been locked into a ruthless, immoral and atheistic State whose cruelty knew no bounds — but at least they loved their children. Even as they prepared for it, nuclear war was a horror beyond words to be avoided at nearly any cost.

For many adherents to the RoP, the nuclear incineration of half of “their” cities would be nothing more than an occasion to uulate and dance around proclaiming the joys of martyrdom in the name of The Prophet. (Provided, of course that plenty of Americans were likewise killed.) The Russians, at least, couldn’t be counted on to routinely strap explosives onto their children and send them against their enemies.

We can’t wrap our minds around this culture. Its ideology is so foreign it might as well belong to “the Bugs” from Starship Troopers. We need to set ourselves for a long, protracted and bloody war. We must understand that unless our grandchildren are to grow up dhimmi, we’d better stop quibbling about dumbshit things like NSA traffic analysis.

Sorry for the long rant. Like you, I’m bothered deeply by the fact that the only way this would get the response it deserved is if some politician were to be affected personally. Given an ineffectual government, an indifferent society and an enemy of surpassing determination, it seems that Mr. Browning’s Department of Homeland Security is the only one on which we may positively rely.

Ive been hearing all about this letter that Amihadinerjacket sent, and what Robert Spencer had to say and it should be taken very seriously by all in the government and the Pentagon as a prelude to war.

This letter very much reminded me of what the Japanese diplomats where supposed to have pulled off before the actual attack at Pearl Harbor, the delivering of the official declaration of war by Imperial Japan, but do to a delay they didnt deliver that declaration of war till AFTER the attack had started.

I wonder, i know that Robert Spencer has said something about the letter, but i wonder if anyone in the governement let Daniel Pipes look at it as well. He is has much knowledge concerning the ME as well. Im sure his input would be very important as well.

IO know it is vogue to bash Bush from both sides now, justifiably so on the basis of domestic spending and the Mexican invasion. But when it comes to the sand lice, he is the first and only pres to have done anything effective. Damn, he invaded and conquered two of the worst pestholes over there.

Do you really think this admin would not react to massive terror attacks from Iran? It’d be just the unassailable justification Bush would need to proceed with the irradication of the Mullahfuckers. The left could then twist and whine and reveal further how unfit and unwilling they are to defend this country.

I would not be in the least surprised if we’re hit again regardless whether we bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities or not. The jihadis understand that our seditious leftists and liberal shitstain politicians will blame Bush, not the jihadis, if there’s an attack. The sandnits see our cowardice in not hanging one of their conspirators who openly gloated about the Americans murdered on 9/11. They see that our leftist bastards attack Bush for spying on the jihadists. They understand they have the loyalty of our fifth column leftists and their splinter groups like the ACLU and ANSWER. I am so damned tired of talking, analyzing, speculating, philosophizing, debating, arguing and parsing.

    I agree, Jon,

But engaging in the wholesale slaughter of Iranian women and children isn’t something we’re likely to do, regardless of how many hostages are taken. (We never got to see Ronnie’s response to the Iranian Hostage Crisis, since they - apparently - understood what sort of man they were facing. It would have been most interesting.)

My concern is that Islam has taken a turn for the worse (if that’s possible) in recent decades. It’s become more confident, violent and focused on the destruction of The Great Satan, to the point that the sacrifice of their women and children is viewed as noble and expected. (I recall when I learned, with horror and amazement, about the Kamakazi attacks and the beheadings carried out by the Japanese in WW2. As a child, I couldn’t imagine that there were once such people in the world. Yet, here we are in a similar situation and no one seems particularly shocked.) On our side, we continue to fail to grasp the nature of our enemy, trying to regard them as fair adversaries, sharing our perspective and goals and responding to reason in the same manner.

If Iran nuked DC, we might reply in kind to Teheran (and create a few million “martyrs.”) While I appreciate your point that W (and arguably Reagan) are to date the only Presidents who’ve taken the problem seriously, my worry is that no one is taking it seriously enough anymore. We are at war with these people, who embrace an ideology that is intent on the utter destruction of our civilization and values. Their intent has been known for centuries, their strategy and tactics lie in plain sight and their motivation is beyond question. As Communism dies a long, dramatic and overdue death, their numbers have quietly swollen to over a billion people. Yet no one seems concerned.

… except, perhaps, for you, me and a few others who understand that Second Amendment isn’t only about “enemies domestic.” Let’s hope we never have to find out how essential it is.

When I listen to family members twice my age who grew up in the Soviet Union and their friends also from the USSR talk about the islamofascists it almost makes our comments seem too kind. These Russians who fought in WWII, their children who lived through the horrors of the nazi march over Russia and life under the communist bastards know the type of decayed soul found in these islamofascists and in the Middle East in general. And if they had their way the place would be glowing in the dark already. The fact that innocents would be killed is so irrelevant to them they’re almost astounded that someone would even give it a thought. When they fought the nazi rats their concern was never how many innocent German’s may be killed but rather to destroy the enemy completely and devastatingly. If innocents were killed in the process then so be it. What they asked themselves in the end was not how many innocent did they kill but “have the nazis been destroyed? Yes, then good. Mission accomplished. Now pass the damn vodka!”

    fucking towel head and missles

So I ask you and everyone else, don’t we need to change our national attitude about nuking terrorist towel heads?

Note the wise words of Mark Steyn writting for City-Journal: If Belgium becomes a nuclear power, the Dutch have no reason to believe it would be a factor in, say, negotiations over a joint highway project. But Iran’s nukes will be a factor in everything. If you think, for example, the European Union and others have been fairly craven over those Danish cartoons, imagine what they’d be like if a nuclear Tehran had demanded a formal apology, a suitable punishment for the newspaper, and blasphemy laws specifically outlawing representations of the Prophet. Iran with nukes will be a suicide bomber with a radioactive waist.

So I think it behooves us the next time we go to the polls to make damned sure we have a real President with real balls…

Hostages? This is simple. The answer is no. If I got caught in this position, then I do everything I can, alone with everyone else with me to make sure I not only resist becoming a bargaining chip, but maybe we get to remove them from the equation. If that can’t happen, then I want the the person making the decisions to understand this: Kill me. Especially if it means you can get them, but if you can’t, deny them the use of any hostage ever. If their toes come one milimeter off the line, then we get glowing sand, a testimony to the idea that deception, like the type MO preached is fatal. Period.
