Amir Taheri reports that the Demented Mullahs of Tehran plan to force non-Muslims to wear color-coded clothes.
The law mandates the government to make sure that all Iranians wear “standard Islamic garments” designed to remove ethnic and class distinctions reflected in clothing, and to eliminate “the influence of the infidel” on the way Iranians, especially, the young dress. It also envisages separate dress codes for religious minorities, Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians, who will have to adopt distinct colour schemes to make them identifiable in public. The new codes would enable Muslims to easily recognize non-Muslims so that they can avoid shaking hands with them by mistake, and thus becoming najis (unclean).
The color for Jooos would be, surprise, surprise, yellow.

There seems to be some debate as to whether this is true or not, and LC & IB Allahpundit is looking into it.
Like Allahpundit, I’m having a hard time imagining that Amir Taheri would be pulling this one out of his ass, making it up out of whole cloth, so to speak. He has a lot of credibility, credibility that I don’t see him gambling with to push a fake story. After all, it isn’t like we need another reason to take out the Mullahs and suspend their naked, mutilated bodies upside down from utility poles all over Tehran, so why blow your entire reputation on a lie?
And it’s not like religious madness is something new in the “Religion of Peace.” Remember the law mandating that women wear the hijab to “block the evil rays from their hair driving men crazy with lust?” Mad Mullahs again.

Whether it’s true or not, don’t expect the MSM blackout to be lifted any day soon. Oh, and don’t give us any “they’re just careful not to run with a story that might be false” bullshit either. At least not until you can explain to us how that fits with the koran-flushing story, just to name one example.
UPDATE: If you’ve been following the link to Allahpundit for updates, you’re already aware of this, but it’s important that it gets out: As the data keep rolling in, more and more evidence suggests that this story may very well be a Plastic Turkey™. Most compelling, in His Majesty’s opinion, is that the Iranian Jewish community’s representative in the Iranian Parliament, Morris Motammed, emphatically denies that any such measures are included.
IRAN’S only Jewish MP strongly denied reports in a Canadian newspaper overnight that Iran may force non-Muslims to wear coloured badges in public so they can be identified.
“This report is a complete fabrication and is totally false,” Maurice Motammed said in Tehran. “It is a lie, and the people who invented it wanted to make political gain” by doing so.
For now, we’ll consider this story’s status to be “debunked” and we can’t wait to hear what Mr. Taheri has to say on the subject.

I have a quick tech question for some people here which is completely off the subject, so apologies in advance:
I’ve looked into the whole “Technorati Tags” thing and apparently Technorati does tag Wordpress categories. I’ve checked and mine actually do come up tagged.
So, what’s the benefit of using Technorati Tags on a Wordpress blog? I have no idea. I see that this site uses them extensively, but I’m wondering why exactly. Does anyone know? Should I just use them anyway? And where did the Emperor get that nifty little “Technorati” tag icon and code snippet from at the top of every post?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

It would appear that the whole world pretty much hates America, and pretty much does not have a problem with Iran, Islam and the angry carpet-bowing crowd. I think the rest of the world WILL let the jews slip into the darkness of history, if only because the common morality can’t eithe wrap it’s brain around mass extinction, or they feel that the jews will have reaped what they have sown.
Face it, half of our own country thinks that WE (America and us “neo-cons”) are more of a threat to world peace than any mad Iranian. And, in a way, they are right. If we were to all take the next spaceship off earth, and leave them to their own devises, there would be peace. Nice, one world government style peace that comes from represson and massive social engineering. AND THEY WOULD BE OK WITH THAT!!! I almost wonder why we should even bother trying to fight it. I think we are the last sane people left.

May 20th, 2006 at 12:51 amWell, I signed up for 8 years with the US Army, so you can probably tell where I stand on fighting for civillisation. I was thinking more along of the lines of “Modern Thought” after WW2 when we saw up close and personal the reality of doing nothing while evil builds it’s self. The problem is that evil is only really defined as something that does harm to the greater good, and I fear that the liberals and Europe as a whole might see it as a better good to let Israel and America die, than fight their own inner guilt.
In short, I don’t trust liberals because while they mouth platitueds to the effect that they want society to “Progress” and that they abhore the evil of the past, but are too bound by the guilt they carry about their part in that evil. Remember how Albright lamented that ther are no more super-powers in the word? It’s that kind of thinking that I really think is the new norm.
As for me, I’m proud to be back in uniform. I really think this society is worth fighting for. Liberals, for their part, don’t even think fighting is an option, which makes their justificaitons be more of a sell out than a vision for a better future. I think that the world would much rather take the path of least resistance than do what’s right. I also think that they feel perfectly justified in that.
