It’s an Idiotarian Feeding Frenzy

Much as we’d expected, the Haditha brou-ha-ha has created a feeding frenzy among Idiotarians and their friends in the MSM. All of a sudden they need stories of “massacres” and they need LOTS of them. Right NOW!
So desperate are the impeccably credentialed journalists with their eleventeen fabled layers of rigorously fact checking editors that they’re recycling old stories that have already been investigated and debunked thoroughly.
The BBC in this case earns the Imperial Order of Disgraceful Opportunism™ for running with a “suddenly discovered video” of the already investigated and closed case of the “massacre” in Ishaqi, Iraq, a video that they laid their hands on courtesy of a group of “Sunni opponents of the occupation.”
They just don’t teach source criticism in journo-school anymore, do they? Assuming, of course, that they ever did to begin with, which is very much in doubt considering the hopelessly amateurish, badly researched (if researched at all) drivel that gets to be called “journalism” nowadays.
We repeat:

Rope. Tree. Journalist.
Some assembly required.
Get one before your neighbor.

Just as I predicted, now watch the politicians all turn into murthafuckers and denounce the “evils” our troops are committing.
June 2nd, 2006 at 2:55 pmWell, when you suffer from such severe cases of BDS, “everything old is new again.”
Good heavens! What next?
June 2nd, 2006 at 3:07 pmI’m not surprised of course. I wish I was. But after reading Michelle’s top-10 list of MSM vs blogsphere for 2005 ( http://michellemalkin.com/archives/004187.htm ) I just don’t think I can be surprised by anything the MSM does or says anymore. Disappointed… always. Surprised? Well it might be possible but I doubt it.
One of my favorite bits from her top 10 list was this excerpt from Forbes’ magazine attempt at bashing the blogsphere:
He forgot an important word there. Liberal web logs, yes. But conservative blogs are usually missing all three, and if they do have any they usually restrict themselves to invective. And even then, the libtards never quite get as much of that as they truly deserve…

June 2nd, 2006 at 3:47 pmSomething similar happened, earlier this week, when a, “new,” story about Haditha was put up. Turns out, it was nothing new, but was merely reporting Bush’s reaction to the story, as it already stood.
Yet, some moonbats were posting a link to this story, as if it somehow confirmed what they previously, “knew,” that the evidence was going to confirm that the Marines were guilty. I find it increasingly frightening, how gullible some people can be.
June 2nd, 2006 at 4:11 pmthis story has had my dad very pissed off this week, seeing his younger brothers in arms being lied on and slandered.Because no one knows what really happened.Misha, when I get some extra cash I will purchase this shirt for myself and dad, hopefully you’ll have a size big enough for him. But,there is a good Marine story, that has been abuzz on the millblogs and the right side of the blogosphere. It involved a Marine from Atlanta who took a knife to a gunfight and won!Go check it out, you’ll love the story and of course the jarhead too.
June 2nd, 2006 at 4:14 pmBut has the MSM reported on the crimes committed by Army/Navy Special Forces/Ranger/Seal MacBeth.
He did confess to killing toddlers.
He did confess to killing worshippers at a mosque.

Oh yeah, he is pure fiction, except for the assault charges pending in Washington State, and soon to be pending Federal charges of Forgery (re: DD-214)
June 2nd, 2006 at 4:33 pmAnd Then There Were Two…
What’s most bothersome, here, is that Iraqi police have been complicit in the lies about U.S. troop actions. This suggests to me that they are either utterly incompetent at basic investigative techniques, or that they have been substantially infiltra…
June 2nd, 2006 at 5:46 pmRock on! So far, my faith in the system is holding out, which is good, because I have spent all of my adult life upholding it.
June 2nd, 2006 at 6:53 pmAs a retired, 20-year Naval aviator, what really pisses me off is that what’s being reported leaves out the CONTEXT (like duh.) and fails to portray both the 99.99% of our troops who are absolutely magnificent, and doing a job that’s difficult and dangerous, and fails to take into account the daily stresses of NOT KNOWING who is carrying a bomb, who is the enemy, who has an IED under their bedsheets, and being unable to clearly draw the lines of combat zones while simultaneously forgetting or omitting that there ARE no clearly drawn combat zones.
The MSM clearly is in bed with the Left, the antiwar weenies, the limp-wrist “intellectual elites” who have NEVER BEEN SCARED nor BRAVE enough to put it all on the line, yet they prefer to bite the hand that feeds them, in the safe little comfort zones.
imagine that!
June 2nd, 2006 at 8:57 pmFRONT PAGE of the Los Angeles Times newspaper (spit!), big color photo of dead people from Ishaqi. Photo 5″ across and 7″ tall, above the fold, today, Saturday, June 3, 2006. Concerning an incident from March 2006. Duh. Photo shows about fifteen Arab men standing with their arms crossed in front of them, “praying” at a “funeral.” In front of all these bystanders are apparently several bodies, wrapped in blankets, lying in the dirt.
It is thoroughly believable that this Ishaqi story was completely exposed as having been falsified and coming from Sunni sources that are self-declared enemies of the American presence in Iraq. But, here it is, front page in this MSM dinosaur, the LA Times.
Looks like I’m gonna have another argument with my wife about cancelling our subscription to this rag of a newspaper.
