Due to circumstance beyond Beth’s and my control (read: absolutely underwhelming response to the invite, plus the fact that the Blown-Eyed Blodgers just got through having their own little soirée and we don’t want to space these things too close together), Texas Blogfest 2007 has been postponed yet again.

We’re now thinking about a date sometime in the fall. More details to follow, but it’ll help if you guys can tell us when in the fall would be best for you.

Thatisall™.

UPDATE: Guys, that doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be anything going on. We’ll likely have some sort of informal get-together Saturday or so, just a few of us. May even do a little shooting that day. This just means there won’t be anything scheduled…you know, like Saturday at my place for Train Wreck Stew™.

Those of you who still wanna come out can email me here, and we’ll figure something out.

(Re-posted since the first attempt was buried in a Misha post-a-lanche.    )

…..

Okay, guys, here’s what Beth & I have come up with:

We’re gonna shoot for May 25th through May 28th, 2007, in Dallas Addison (where TB ‘05 took place).  (By the sheerest of coincidences, that just happens to be Memorial Day weekend.  We are aware of the potential for disaster problems inherent therein.  On the other hand, it seems to be an excellent time to get together and hoist one (or eighteen) in honor of absent friends.)

And to make things dovetail very nicely, the future La Reina Espátula and I have decided to postpone our wedding one month, which may allow more of you to attend.  (No, nothing’s wrong - we need more time to find a house, that’s all.)  Therefore, TB07 festivities will kick off with the wedding and go from there.

More to come as things develop.  And we’ll likely be cranking up the old Blogfest site for up-to-the-minute stuff.  Keep yer eyeses peeled.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled ranting.

UPDATE:  Oh, one other thing:  As of now, the wedding itself is scheduled for Friday afternoon - IOW, when many of you are either still at work or in transit.

That can be possibly pushed back to Saturday, if  you RSVP that you’re interested in attending.  I can attempt to persuade the JP to have it somewhere - say, Realm™ Headquarters (i.e, my place), but I need to hear from you, either by email or here.

Lemme know, and thanks.

LC Beth, ISW (known around my neck o’ the woods as the SpatulaGoddess) was heard to utter thusly:

AyUaxe, you do realize that there are plenty of LCs who will take you up on your offer, right? Name the time and place, and you’ll probably have a swarm (especially since our annual Texas spring gathering has been postponed).

Which got me to thinking - which in itself is a dangerous proposition…   …perhaps Texas Blogfest ‘07 shouldn’t be postponed much longer.

Thus, I do hereby officially-like launch a semi-open thread:  Dallas or Austin for TB07, and when is the best time for you guys to make it?

Discuss, please.

Guys, I have a situation here that’s going to preclude me making any Texas Blogfest ‘07 preparations.

No, the wedding isn’t in trouble, but my fiancée is going to need my help in handling a small problem she’s having - which, unfortunately, will leave me no time to do much of anything else, I imagine.  Therefore, TB07 is postponed until further notice.

Sorry.  I’ll let you guys know when we reschedule.

Thatisall™.

During a recent thread, the Imperial Empress (long may she bestow large amounts of firearms & ammo on the Emperor (grin)) was overheard saying thusly:

But, we are grateful to have been fortunate enough to be able to be a part of the fun! Maybe we can accomplish something similar in Texas this year as well!

Funny she should mention that.  Here’s what I have in mind:

As most of you may recall, I said:

How would you feel about a Texas Blogfest ‘07 towards the end of April? Say, the last weekend thereof? Discuss here, if you please.

(Incidentally, I’ve already discussed this with my partner in crime the SpatulaGoddess, and she rather fancies the idea.)

I’ll be telling you the reason for the April date in exactly one week’s time. Stay tuned.

So I’m a couple days late.  Sue me.

Anyway, to the point:  Four days after posting this on the 10th, I took a very lovely lady out to dinner.  At the end of the meal, I gave this lady a nice gift.  It was in a box, was round and had a cute little trinket on top.

And it had the desired effect.  Amazing how you of the feminine persuasion have this tendency to melt for these objects…

Anyway, the date we’re going to tie the knot is Friday, April 27th - Saturday the 28th if we can find a JP who’ll get up off his lazy ass take time out of his busy day that day.  I figure that this event would be a good thing around which to plan a Blogfest.

Discuss.

LCs (and Denizens, given that I’m cross-posting this over here), front & center please.

Granted the RottFest is going to be taking up a lot of your time, ammo & finances.  Not a problem.

HOWEVER…!!!

If I may ask a question to those of you who aren’t going (or, for that matter, those of you who are but can afford something else later)…

[SCENE:  Rott headquarters.  The place is empty and the lights are out, the Brood™ having gone out en masse  to cele…well, just keep reading, mkay?

An enormous shimmer of light appears in the living room.  As it fades, we see several large masses materialize.  (Well, several average-sized masses and one Jabba-sized lump.  Gimme a break, I’m working on it, okay???  ]

Give us more, O Emperor! »
