After all, one of the socialist tinpot tyrants that he is so enamored with just suffered a defeat in a vote.

CARACAS, Venezuela - Humbled by his first electoral defeat ever, President Hugo Chavez said Monday he may have been too ambitious in asking voters to let him stand indefinitely for re-election and endorse a huge leap to a socialist state.

Throwing democracy out the window and electing something with the IQ of a shredded turnip to be President for Life “ambitious?” Naaaahhhh…

“I understand and accept that the proposal I made was quite profound and intense,” he said after voters narrowly rejected the sweeping constitutional reforms by 51 percent to 49 percent.

The narrative has changed a bit already, we see. Earlier, this narrow squeeze of a victory was called “a stunning defeat” by some of the MSMidiots, but perhaps they decided that it was too obvious an admission of their opinion that any rejection of socialist tyranny is “stunning.”

Some shed tears. Others began chanting: “And now he’s going away!”

Dream on. Hate to burst your bubble here, but if history teaches us anything, it’s that socialist wannabe dictators don’t let such minor things as transient election defeats stop them. You might want to look up a certain Austrian with a toothbrush mustache if you’re not sure what we mean.

…it’s looks like the current residents of Rhodesia aren’t all that thrilled with their People Powered Politics anymore:

ZIMBABWE’S leading cleric has called on Britain to invade the country and topple President Robert Mugabe. Pius Ncube, the Archbishop of Bulawayo, warned that millions were facing death from famine, unable to survive amid inflation believed to have soared to 15,000%.

Mugabe, 83, had proved intransigent despite the “massive risk to life”, said Ncube, the head of Zimbabwe’s 1m Catholics. “I think it is justified for Britain to raid Zimbabwe and remove Mugabe,” he said. “We should do it ourselves but there’s too much fear. I’m ready to lead the people, guns blazing, but the people are not ready.”

Some parts of Zimbabwe have seen 95% of crops fail, leaving families with only two or three weeks’ food supply to last a year. Prices in the shops are more than doubling every week and Christopher Dell, the American ambassador, predicts that by the end of the year inflation could hit 1.5m%.

I’m with LC & IB Bill here.

Obviously, I can’t speak for Britain or what she decides to do, but if you were asking me, Pius, I’d tell you to go pound some Marxist sand.

Where were you when you were all googoo eyed over Bobby Mugabe and his ZANU thugs? Where were you when he stormed into dictatorship with the support of the people? Where were you when his North Korea-trained goons were committing genocide in Matabeleland? Where were you when his “veterans” were massacring farm owners in their beds, living rooms and bathtubs, stealing their properties for themselves and Bobby Mugabe, destroying the agriculture of your country and crippling the economy?

So now, after decades of supporting a simple-minded Marxist dog promising “power to the people” while delivering nothing other than what his ilk have ALWAYS delivered, namely death, famine, suffering, disease and poverty, now that your hero has turned out to be the monster that anybody with the brains of a slug knew that he would turn out to be, now you want somebody else to rush in and save you from your own mistakes?

Now, after the monster that you created and you continued to enable is swimming in a sea of the blood of innocents you expect somebody else to come in and make it all better and hand it all back for you to screw up again?

Guess what? You wanted something for nothing and you got exactly what you paid for.

Now enjoy the fruits of your “labor.”

Worried that nobody will bother to listen to their message of high taxes, record unemployment, Cuban-style “healthcare”, defeatism and surrender, the Dem Cong are pushing to get the Fairness Doctrine brought back from the grave. (Via LC & IB Dan Riehl):

According to two members of the House Democrat Caucus, Reps. Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer have informed them that they will “aggressively pursue” reinstatement of the so-called Fairness Doctrine over the next six months. In January, Democrat presidential candidate Rep. Dennis Kucinich announced that he was going to pursue the Fairness Doctrine through his Government Reform subcommittee. That announcement was greeted with silence. But now, Pelosi has moved things to the front burner.

We have an election coming up next year, after all, and since Err Amerika proved that most Americans would rather have root canals performed with a jackhammer without the benefit of anesthesia than listen to the Dem Cong drone on and on about their visions of a socialist dystopia, Stalin’s heirs in Congress sort of have to pursue “other methods” (or, as it is called in the original German, “andere Metoden.” As with most other things coming from the Dem Cong, it too sounds better in German. With a hint of an Austrian accent. True to their roots).

The decision to press for re-establishment of the Fairness Doctrine now seems to have developed for two reasons. “First, [Democrats] failed on the radio airwaves with Air America, no one wanted to listen,” says a senior adviser to Pelosi. “Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans and we have had to find a way to limit it.”

Totalitarianism 101. To Hell with concepts such as the free marketplace of ideas. When the goods you’re trying to peddle won’t sell, you just force your customers to buy it. Preferably by taking over the whole marketplace and shutting the other side out entirely, but since that would most likely cause a bit of a stir right now, you can always start out by forcing the stores in the marketplace to devote half their shelves to your unsellable merchandise.

And we’ve seen it all before. Every totalitarian regime throughout history has used that playbook. It’s all about controlling the message. Control the media, control the schools, control, control, control. “For your own good” of course or, in this case, “in the interest of ‘fairness’.” How it is “fair” to force somebody to carry a message that nobody wants to listen to is, of course, beyond the ken of intelligent beings, but that is yet another page of the totalitarian handbook: Control of language. Up is down, war is peace, ignorance is wisdom and we’ve always been at war with Eurasia.

To some, this may seem like not such a big deal. “So what? They want to push their nonsense, but nobody’s going to listen to it anyway.”

Oh, but you’d be wrong, and one of the reasons that conservatives in this country keep failing in their fight against the single most virulent, murderous ideology in the history of man, socialism, is that they haven’t properly understood this. People do listen, particularly when the message is hammered home 24/7, relentlessly, from cradle to grave. It doesn’t matter how nonsensical, how self-evidently bizarre the message is, if you keep repeating it over and over again, people will internalize it. I know because you don’t even have to go back in history to see it in action, I grew up in it. You would be amazed at some of the ridiculous notions about America that are alive and well in Europe, considered to be the unquestionable truth. Not because Europeans have seen for themselves, not because they’re naturally malicious, stupid or ill-disposed toward America, but because it’s all they’ve ever heard.

They went to school and were taught from textbooks full of socialist claptrap, textbooks edited, censored and controlled by government. When they got older and started reading the news, they were treated to a grand selection of nothing but the same, written by people who’d gone through the same indoctrination process. Turn on the TV, more of the same. Every single day of their lives, from sunrise to sunset.

Or take a look right here at home. Remember the story not too long ago how they were having trouble in Florida finding a jury for the upcoming Padilla trial because too many prospective jurors hadn’t yet made their minds up about who caused friggin’ 9/11? The “sixteen words” from President Bush’s State of the Union Address in 2002? Ask a random sampling of people on the street whether Niger was mentioned in there and, on the off-chance that you find somebody who reads the news, they’ll answer “sure.”

It doesn’t matter how much of a lie it is, it doesn’t even matter that you can go look up the original text on the Internet in a matter of minutes and see that it’s a flat out lie, as long as the lie is repeated often enough, it becomes the truth sooner or later.

But you have to get the message hammered home and, in a free market, if people won’t voluntarily tune into the stations airing your lies, then you have to force the ones they do listen to to carry them.

That’s not “fairness”, that’s totalitarianism of the very first water, which is why it’s hardly a surprise that a political party like the Dem Cong, as devoted to government control of every single aspect of our lives as they are, would embrace it fully and push it every chance they get. They don’t want you to think for yourself, they don’t want you to choose for yourself, because that would threaten their dreams of total control.

“For your own good”, of course. Because they’re smarter, they’re better than you and they caaaaaaare!

They care alright, but it’s not about you.

And that’s why this is a big deal.

They’ve already grabbed control of our schools, they pretty much own the MSM, they’re itching to get their hands on healthcare so they can ensure eternal rule by having the threat of taking it away from you unless you vote for them, and they really, really want to shut up those who expose their agenda.

And they will stop at nothing to achieve that goal.

The National Socialist Democrats a.k.a. the Dem Cong continue their quest to disarm the populace so those damned peons won’t ever dare interfere with their dreams of a Statist Dystopia, this time in the form of a “watchlist” that they can throw people they don’t agree with on and then have them banned from purchasing firearms.

“Oh, but it’s only for ‘known’ terrorists”, I hear some say. Right. And we don’t have ways of dealing with known terrorists already? Known terrorists can purchase firearms as it is? I think not.

What the totalitarians in DC want is a list of people according to criteria they choose on a day-to-day basis, and if that doesn’t scare the snot out of you, then I don’t know what will.

I wouldn’t trust a Republican with that kind of power, and I most certainly will never trust a damned socialist with it.

If you do, if you don’t think that they’d evah use it to selectively disarm and rob the civil rights of groups of people that they disagree with, if you think that they’d nevah be “unfair” by targeting very specific groups, you’re quite frankly too dumb to waste oxygen. “Hate crime laws”, “Fairness Doctrine”, you name it.

Worried yet?

You should be.

Out of my cold, dead fingers…

Molon labe!

*Fade in… A group of fedora-bedecked crickets are leaning against a filthy, back alley wall, smoking tiny little cricket-sized cigarettes, nonchalantly picking their little cricket nails and occasionally looking around for the cricket cops, while other crickets are throwing dice behind a stack of cardboard boxes…*

Only one question remains… Why isn’t *spit* fWance *spit* a glowing green glass parking lot for EUnuchDisney™?

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (NSAAP-NY) is going out of her way to make her proposed New & Improved Scary-Looking Rifle Ban™ as all-inclusive as possible:

Instead of banning rifles with 2 evil features, it’s one evil feature. Said evil features are:

`(i) a folding or telescoping stock;

`(ii) a threaded barrel;

`(iii) a pistol grip;

`(iv) a forward grip; or

`(v) a barrel shroud.

…and quite a bit more. Go read it all.

Then, when you’re done reading, remind your congress parasite that there are 80,000,000 gun owners out here, and we VOTE.

Yes, that’s a pistol grip and yes, the flash hider is attached by way of a thread. BOO!
Once we win the lottery, we’ll be able to purchase a forearm suitable for a forward grip as well.
Oh, and though we don’t much care for them, we may have to put a folding stock on her too, just for the sheer heck of it.
Does anybody know if barrel shrouds are available? That would make it The Scariest Rifle in Teh World!!!1!!!™.

On another note, if you’re planning on purchasing a Scary Rifle That Makes Liberal Totalitarians Pee Their Panties™, you might want to get started. Reliable sources tell us that Scary Rifles™ are selling like hotcakes right now, with quite a few places unable to keep up with new orders coming in.

Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

We rather think so, so we’re not quite clear what the Iranians were trying to accomplish by digging out PhotoShop and a 20 year old box of Winchester White Box 7.62×39. Not to mention that there’s more than a little bit of chutzpah involved in the Iranians accusing (falsely or otherwise) us of supplying their insurgents when our soldiers are being shot at with sniper rifles and bombed with IEDs from Iran.

But hey, that’s no worse than one 20 year old box of WWB, right?

Of course it’s all a fake, which fills us with sadness.

Nothing would please us more than to learn that President Waffledick had finally got his head out of his arse and was flooding the Iranian resistance with free weaponry for use in their fight against the Turbaned Tittyfucks in Tehran.

Nice work with the clone stamp on those grenades, boxes and ammo pouches, by the way. It took His Imperial Vileness’ 5-year-olds almost three whole minutes to spot it.

The L.A. Times? Somehow that one managed to slip by their eleventy-grumpteen Fabled Layers of Rigorously Fact Checking Editors as well.

Perhaps they couldn’t afford to hire two five-year-olds to do the job.

Oh, it might also be a good idea to note that the grenades in the picture are Soviet fragmentation grenades, not to mention the AK-47 that they almost managed to airbrush out of the picture.

So who is the more pathetic? The incompetent PhotoShop hacks of Iran, or the retarded ratweasels of the L.A. Times who believe them?

As tensions rise between the Turbans of Tehran and the civilized world, El Baradei, Mahmoud Ahmadingdong’s lapdog and one of the contributors to the loss of prestige associated with the Nobel Peace Prize, urges leaders back to the negotiating table, presumably in order to keep his bribes flowing.

Meanwhile, Mohamed El Baradei, who heads the UN’s nuclear watchdog agency, said he was concerned that UN sanctions on Iran could escalate the standoff with the West and called for a resumption of negotiations.

Escalate the standoff from “we’ll do whatever we want to do no matter what, infidels” to what, exactly, you corrupt, terrorist-loving puddle of goat semen?

In the eight years following the Egyptian’s appointment to head the watchdog group, it has failed to detect covert nuclear programs in three countries. It also failed to detect the “nuclear supermarket” run by the Pakistani scientist A. Q. Khan.

Which is hardly surprising, seeing as how the “inspection” teams, in the exact same fashion as the Useless Nitwits “inspection” teams from the days of Saddam (who remains satisfyingly dead), weren’t allowed to “inspect” anything without the prior approval of the regime that they were supposed to “inspect”, not to mention that the “inspection” teams were provided with their own terrorist regime armed escort wherever they went.

One of the Chief Inspectors, Chris Charlier, pointed this out and, predictably, the Tumblefucked Turbaned Twits of Tehran didn’t much like that, demanding that El Baradei fire the infidel for daring to tell the truth. El Baradei promptly complied.

So pardon us if we don’t care a tinker’s cuss about any verbal effluvium seeping from the pie hole of El Baradei.

We might as well listen to advice from Ahmadinnerjacket and, as long as we continue to consider the U.N. anything other than a wholly owned subsidiary of Terrorist Regimes International™, we are doing just that.

The Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen is apparently demanding that the American Meteorological Society withdraw their endorsement from any Meteorologist who dares question Global Wormening in public.

The Soviets used to do a lot of that as well. When they couldn’t think of an argument against anything, they instead relied on the threat of ostracization, imprisonment and/or death.

That the Noo Left endorses those methods should hardly come as a surprise to anybody with a brain, nor is it anything new.

Ever intolerant of anybody having a differing opinion about anything, they’ll do anything it takes to silence their critics. If you’re a biology professor, for instance, just try questioning Darwin’s theories within earshot of a member of the Darwinist Inquisition. Actually, don’t. Unless you had your heart set on a new career anyway.

The question here isn’t “who is right and who is wrong.” Whether you’re an Evolutionist or a Creationist, a Global Wormening True Believer or a Skeptic shouldn’t matter to you if you care in the least bit about freedom of speech and freedom of opinion. If you disagree with somebody, attack their argument all you want. That is your right and, if you truly believe in your point of view, you should attack the opposition’s views.

But that’s not what Heidi Cullen is doing.

Unable to mount a defense of her faith, she chooses instead to demand that the heretics be muzzled.

Which says all you need to know about the strength of her actual argument, really.
