Thanks to LC Jason and the Imperial Firearms Advisor, we bring you some good news out of the Peepul’s Repoplik of Mass-of-two-shits:

TAUNTON, Mass. — A New Bedford homeowner who fatally shot a man he thought had broken into his house has been acquitted by a Bristol Superior Court jury of second-degree murder.

Jurors took just 31/2 hours on Monday to decide that Charles Chieppa, 60, was justified in killing Frank Pereira Jr. in June 2004.

3 1/2 hours? There’d damn well better be a large number of senior citizens on that jury, or there is no way that His Majesty can see justification for an afternoon nap included in their deliberations.

“When you consider his state of mind, when you consider the circumstances, this was a justifiable homicide by a citizen protecting himself,” Reddington said during closing arguments on Monday.

The prosecution, while acknowledging that Pereira was a “thief,” noted that Chieppa kept a loaded gun in his bedroom and that he shot Pereira in the back.

Of course he kept a loaded gun in his bedroom, you illiterate gummint henchman. Where the fuck else was he supposed to keep it at night when sound asleep? At the local YMCA? And don’t give us any of the “shot him in the back” crap either. Was he diving for cover? Did he turn at the instant the shot went off?

Listen, we can all argue ’till the cows come home about “shooting in the back”, but unless you happen to have personal and encyclopedic knowledge of firefights and every possible thing that might happen during one, I don’t really want to hear your armchair, after-the-fact pontifications on how shooting somebody in that area of their body is always wrong and invariably demonstrates homicidal intent, because you’re full of it. Fact is, you weren’t there and you don’t know, so shut the fuck up.

Would I shoot somebody in the back? That depends on a lot of factors. If I were convinced that the goblin had ceased to be a threat and I were convinced that he was about to retreat hastily without offering any further threat to me or mine, then of course I wouldn’t. Why the Hell would I? Goblin gone, situation resolved, I’m happy. The thing is, unless you were there, I’d strongly resent you telling me what I should have been convinced of in the middle of the situation. Resent it to the point of re-arranging your facial features a tad unless you immediately shut up on request.

“He reacted that night in anger, it wasn’t fearful,” Assistant District Attorney William McCauley said during closings. “What does that say about his intent? He decided if there was going to be a problem in his property, he would take care of it.”

Amazing! ADAs can read minds! With amazing skills like that, how on Earth can it be that no private practice has picked up Mr McCauley yet and offered him a real job along with a full partnership? Quick, before somebody else grabs him!

Pereira’s family was outraged at the verdict.

“No matter the circumstances, nobody deserves to die over property,” said Marcey Lugo, Pereira’s girlfriend and mother of his 6-year-old son.

And I’d agree. Unfortunately, your boyfriend seem to have thought otherwise, since he made the clear decision to risk his own life over property. Well, unless somebody forced him to invade somebody else’s home and attempt to steal his property.

If property ain’t worth dying over, then perhaps goblins should quit trying to redistribute it against the wishes and rights of its owners?

Just saying ’s all, you dumb bitch.

You might want to teach your kid that so he doesn’t grow up dumb and dead like the sperm donor that sired him.
