I don't know if they serve potatos either. I am also a little involved in programs for parolees. There are big issues in keeping them from re-offending: 1) Keep them away from former acquaintances by providing housing away from their old haunts; 2) Job training and education; 3) Substance abuse treatment. You have to be careful with some of the programs offered by former convicts. But there is one guy, an ex con, I deal with who does an absolutely bang up job. He is merciless with cons, he expects them to achieve and they had better do it. I believe that the racism of low expectations is responsible for a great deal of evil. Respect these ex cons as men by making them accountable for their actions just like everyone else. They are not children.
