Corps are juridical persons. That is, they exist as entities because we, natural persons, say they can and have made laws to facilitate and regulate their functioning as such. The evil part is when monied interests and unrestrained, activist or crooked courts allowed them to have rights. Juridical persons don't have rights, only privileges. They don't get to say anything they want under protection of the Constitution- -only The People have that right and the rest. As bad as giving rights to Corps has been the failure to demand fealty to the nation and its people from Corps who owe their "lives" to us. No automaker, electronics, software, or any other industry of any significance should be permitted to milk our markets unless they invest in and show commitment to our nation. Want to sell cars here, build 'em here. Want to sell computers here, build 'em here. If you don't like it and think it costs too much, go the F away and see if you can fund your business on the minuscule market provided by the rest of the world. At the same time, when foreign governments or marauders threaten strategic interests, the gummint needs to do its job and protect the nation's interests in the world. Who da F thought it was a good idea for major U.S. Oil Cos to be blackmailed into giving up the capital they sank into Saudi Arabia and environs? How's that been working out for us, since? Anyone remember the late 70's? Like watching your paycheck get hoovered right into the gas pump at every fill-up lately? Human slavery is wrong, but the only right position for corporations is as slaves to their shareholders. On that note, one closing point--buy stock. If organized and unorganized labor had been buying stock in companies instead of just demanding ever-increasing immediate gratification and protectionism, this country would be even more of a capitalist worker's paradise than she is.
