One quick question: How does supporting a New York gun-hating, pro-abortion, pro-sanctuary for illegals candidate make you a “conservative”, exactly?
Well, he did promise to appoint constructionalist judges, and that would have a more far reaching impact on these very policies than anything the guy at the top of the executive branch could do on his own. When you compare that to unabashed, Europhile-communist-wienette Clinton… that makes him relatively conservative. I would not be nearly as upset with a Giulliani presidency as I would be with ANY of the dem candidates. He’d be better on foriegn policy than any of them, there’s the whole judge thing, and ultimately the other issues you bring up are more likely going to be decided by Congress and the courts, not the president (not that the president doesn’t have influence). If asked the question “who is more American, Rudy or Hillary”, it’s no contest. Rudy wins.
On that note, though, has anybody else looked at Duncan Hunter? I saw him on Glenn Beck last week — he gave him a whole hour… and he came off pretty good in my view. I started out a Thompson fan, but he’s not excactly coming out swinging with any kind of campaign at this time. At least not so far as I can tell. I’d like to see SOMEONE come out and strongly defend a traditional, conservative point of view.]]>
