And it's precisely BECAUSE they get stopped early and 'derailed' by the unexpected armed citizen that they get far less attention and media coverage than the one where the killer/s meet no resistance and rack up a high body count. The Law School Shooting several years ago, the mall shooting in Utah, I think it was, where an off duty cop kept the shooter ducking for cover until the on duty cops could arrive; even during the big spate of school shootings that culminated in Columbine we had the Luke Woodham shooting where the asst. principal went and got a gun out of his car and subdued him. Those don't get much media play at all because the shooters don't kill that many people. If when he was on his 3rd victim at VT some outlaw student who didn't give a flying f**k about the no gun zone signs had pulled out an illegal weapon and seriously wounded/killed Psy-Cho so that his body count didn't exceed 5 it would have been the same blip on the radar screen that the Colorado church shooting has become. Except for the stories about the hero student getting expelled for the gun.
