Chapter 53, verse 21 states: "These are the exalted cranes (goddesses), Whose intercession is to be hoped for." In others words, Muhammad praises three pagan deities in order to placate the Meccans. (Note: This verse has since been alter or removed in most modern Qur'ans.) The verse caused outrage, even in Muhammad's time, and followers began to question the 'prophet'. So, old Mo came up with this gem: "Every Messenger or Prophet before you recited the message Satan cast into his recitation. Allah abrogates what Satan casts. Then Allah established his verses. Allah is Knower, Wise." (22:52) Further, chapter 53 reveals some interesting facts about Muhammad.
