Today is a day dedicated to remembering and honoring our fallen, the ones who gave all to protect us and the ones to whom we owe this Shining City on a Hill that we call home.

It is a day of reflection, of gratitude and of taking stock of how we’ve used that precious of gifts that our noble fallen bought us with their own blood, but it is also a day of joy. Joy because we have such men and women, and joy because of all of the blessings that their sacrifice has given us.

So today, as you get together with your families, be joyful that they existed, be grateful that they loved this nation and you so much that they gave their lives to protect her, and raise a glass to the invisible ones guarding the perimeter around your dinner table.

Thank you. We will never forget.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

– Lt. Col. John McCrae, 1872-1918

This is what’s it’s about, the cost of Freedom and all that which we hold dear:

Caisson

Sentry

I couldn’t do a better job than Trace Adkins, besides my vision tends to get blurry writing about this peaceful piece of property, overlooking the river.

Arlington

I never thought that this is where I’d settle down.
I thought I’d die an old man back in my hometown.
They gave me this plot of land,
Me and some other men, for a job well done.

There’s a big White House sits on a hill just up the road.
The man inside, he cried the day they brought me home.
They folded up a flag and told my Mom and Dad:
“We’re proud of your son.”

And I’m proud to be on this peaceful piece of property.
I’m on sacred ground and I’m in the best of company.
I’m thankful for those thankful for the things I’ve done.
I can rest in peace;
I’m one of the chosen ones:
I made it to Arlington.

I remember Daddy brought me here when I was eight.
We searched all day to find out where my grand-dad lay.
And when we finally found that cross,
He said: “Son, this is what it cost to keep us free.”

Now here I am, a thousand stones away from him.
He recognized me on the first day I came in.
And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels,
And saluted me.

And I’m proud to be on this peaceful piece of property.
I’m on sacred ground and I’m in the best of company.
I’m thankful for those thankful for the things I’ve done.
I can rest in peace;
I’m one of the chosen ones:
I made it to Arlington.

And everytime I hear twenty-one guns,
I know they brought another hero home to us.

And I’m proud to be on this peaceful piece of property.
I’m on sacred ground and I’m in the best of company.
We’re thankful for those thankful for the things we’ve done.
We can rest in peace;
‘Cause we are the chosen ones:
We made it to Arlington.

Yeah, dust to dust,
Don’t cry for us:
We made it to Arlington.

To Jack Murtha, John Edwards and the rest of your ilk, you know who you are. You aren’t fit to look at, let alone touch this sacred ground, bought and paid for by much better men than us all.

In a fitting and proper salute to those we honor today, RadioCIA will be airing an appropriate special Memorial Day-2007 show tonight at 9 pm CT. In addition to our music, I managed to choke out a few fitting words honoring those that have made the Ultimate Sacrifice before, and the many to come.

LC 0311 Crunchie was kind enough to forward this article to us, in which Chief Warrant Officer Jim Funk, a Blackhawk pilot of the Iowa National Guard currently in theatre, shares his feelings about the MSM and their relentless war to demoralize the troops, the American public and providing good cheer, aid and comfort to our enemies.

A snippet, but don’t you dare not read the whole thing:

“Hello media, do you know you indirectly kill American soldiers every day? You inspire and report the enemy’s objective every day. You are the enemy’s greatest weapon. The enemy cannot beat us on the battlefield so all he does is try to wreak enough havoc and have you report it every day. With you and the enemy using each other, you continually break the will of the American public and American government.

“We go out daily and bust and kill the enemy, uncover and destroy huge weapons caches and continue to establish infrastructure. So daily we put a whoopin on the enemy, but all the enemy has to do is turn on the TV and get re-inspired. He gets to see his daily roadside bomb, truck bomb, suicide bomber or mortar attack. He doesn’t see any accomplishments of the U.S. military (FOX, you’re not exempt, you suck also).

It’s not fair when some people state that the MSM don’t understand the importance of propaganda in a war. They understand it quite well, and they apply that knowledge to their trade every single day of the year.

The problem is, they’re fighting for the other side.

Rope. Tree. Journalist.
Some assembly required.

I came across this little piece of idiotarian, traitorous drool over at the The Patriot Post in the Friday, May 25 Digest. Trying to fisk through it on top of Publisher Mark Alexander’s take, required a quadruple dose of my blood pressure meds and a pint of anti-emetic.

This preening, whimpering little prick is beyond any chance of redemption. Coming on the heels of arguing that the term “War On Terror” is a mere bumper-sticker slogan, he proceeds to shit on every fallen hero that we celebrate on Memorial Day, with ‘his’ cut and run (from everything) vision.

***DRINK and SPEW WARNING IS IN EFFECT***

Edwards Sullies Memorial Day

Here’s a teaser from Alexander’s comment:

At a commencement address at New England College in New Hampshire, Edwards called on people to send care packages and hold prayer vigils with the ultimate aim of demanding an end to the war in Iraq. [Emph Mine]

The Concorde Monitor Bird Cage Liner has more here: Edwards tells grads to help end Iraq war

Just when you think the socialist, peacenik swine of the left have finally hit bottom, yet another one starts digging more.

Memo to Breck Girl: Fuck You, your horse and your dog. You aren’t fit to lick the sweat off the scrotum of the lowliest private in the sandbox.

Shouldn’t you be spending time with your ill wife, instead of pissing on millions of patriot-heroes sleeping in graves around the world?

After you’re done saying a prayer for our courageous, brave service men and women that have gladly paid the ‘ultimate sacrifice’, have some fun on this thread.

It’s way overdue as LC Mrs. M- ITT™, poked me in the ribs about it last night.

I could kick things off with one word, certain to get the Rottie Keyboards O’ Doom, going.

ROSIE !!!!

Have at it Pups, mind your fingers though.

Mitch McConnell is confident that the American voters are too stupid for the Kennedy/McPain Zhamnesty of ‘07 to have any consequences for RINOs voting in favor of dissolving our borders and pardoning 20 million criminals “doing jobs that no Americans will ever again be allowed to do.”

“This is a divisive issue” for both parties, said McConnell, a Kentucky Republican RINO. But, he said, “I don’t think there’s a single member of either party next year who is going to fail to be re-elected over this issue.”

Wonderful.

We’ll see about that, won’t we?

But you’re right about one thing. When you RINO sellouts get another spanking a la 2006 in ‘08, you’ll all be pretending that it had nothing, nothing to do with your complete and utter sellout of our nation in ‘07.

Just as you’re still pretending that the kick in the groin you received in ‘06 had nothing, nothing to do with you outspending Bill Clinton, expanding government according to the motto “Gruel in Every Pot, a Bureaucrat in Every Garage” and various and sundry other betrayals of conservative principles that would make even a liberal blush and hesitate.

Time to fill in the hole the GOP is in, stomp the ground down around the carcass and take a long leak on the mound.

LC & IB Bill Quick mentions a case where the relatives of an illegal immigrant were awarded $2 million in a “wrongful death” suit, allegedly because of a local cop’s “reckless behavior.” Among the usual whining, handwringing and maudlin bullshit uttered by the family’s land shark attorney, there was this:

“Had Officer Newman simply followed the law, we would not be here,” said Lawrence Ruder, attorney for the family,

Wait a minute… *Snaps finger*

Thank you, Mr. Imperial Nanotech Violinist. That was an exquisitely sad song.

We’re afraid it doesn’t hold a candle to LC & IB Bill’s delightfully appropriate and vicious response, however:

If illegal immigrant Lopez had simply followed the law, he would have been in Honduras, and entirely safe from Officer Newman’s supposed recklessness.

Hehehehehe.

Nice. Misha LIKES!

But hey, Flores was only “trying to live the American dream, raping the children that no Americans want to rape.”

Yeah, Cherkoff, let’s give people like Flores a “path to citizenship”, why don’t we?

Douchebag.

Contact your representative today!!!

P.S.: If you want to bypass the usual waiting lines and go directly to the Senator’s office, use this phone number:

800-417-7666 (Hit “1″, then “1″ for your senior Senator or “2″ for your junior Senator)

It was set up by pro-amnesty fucknozzles so that people might skip ahead in the queue (why does that sound familiar?) and lick the butts of the pro-amnesty Senators, but there’s absolutely no reason why it shouldn’t be used for — other purposes.

Hey, the pro-illegal crowd is paying the bill for that number, so what’s not to love?

Oh, and if they say “it’s not amnesty because the illegal aliens have to pay a ‘fine’”, ask them if letting murderers off of Death Row as long as they drop a quarter in a hat on the way out “isn’t amnesty” either.

Fuckhead,

There are few things that I hate with a passion burning so bright that it frightens me to even think about it.

Racists are among them. People calling me racist are too. Right up there with communists, Islamofascists and child molesters.

So kindly cease and desist. You’ll find it exceedingly hard to type what you pass off as “columns” with every bone in all of your fingers crushed with a hammer. In alphabetical order. What’s worse, I don’t much like the fact that I’d enjoy every second of it, so I’d just as soon that I never had to.

Thatisall,

Emperor Misha I
