We hesitate to unconditionally embrace anything appearing in the MSM as the truth but, on the other hand, The London Times aren’t the worst offenders out there and, at any rate, we’d hate to let excellent news like these just pass us by. But apply the 48-hour rule to it, just in case (via LC & IB Patterico):
IT was just after midnight when the 69th Squadron of Israeli F15Is crossed the Syrian coast-line. On the ground, Syria’s formidable air defences went dead. An audacious raid on a Syrian target 50 miles from the Iraqi border was under way.
At a rendezvous point on the ground, a Shaldag air force commando team was waiting to direct their laser beams at the target for the approaching jets. The team had arrived a day earlier, taking up position near a large underground depot. Soon the bunkers were in flames.
“That’s an awfully nice bunker complex you’ve got there, Pencilneck. It’d be a real shame if anything were to happen to it, wouldn’t it?”
House Stretchface Lugosi must be livid with rage by now, fuming and sputtering in the general direction of those Evil Jooos who dared hurt her new best friend forever, Chinless Assad.
Rumor has it that the bunkers contained unspecified materials of NorK origin. The kind of materials that glow in the dark, if you know what we mean. If true, and we certainly hope that it is, the neighborhood should be quite — interesting — by now and for quite a while to come.
Am Yisroel Chai!

Sources Confirm Israeli Airstrike on Syria - Iranian Weapons?
Last week, Syria reported that its aircraft fired on Israeli “enemy aircraft” that flew into northern Syria early Thursday. The strike may have targeted Hizbullah weapons coming into Syria or transiting through the country from Iran, according to sources in the region and in the U.S. Sources said the military operation may have also involved Israeli ground forces who directed the airstrike, which “left a big hole in the desert” in Syria. The Israeli government is very happy with the success of the operation, the sources said. Sources in the U.S. government and military confirmed that the airstrike did happen, and that they are happy to have Israel carry the message to both Syria and Iran that they can get in and out and strike when necessary. Israel Eyes Possible Nuclear Installations in Syria - Mark Mazzetti and Helene Cooper
One Bush administration official said Israel had recently carried out reconnaissance flights over Syria, taking pictures of possible nuclear installations that Israeli officials believed might have been supplied with material from North Korea. The official said Israeli officials believed that North Korea might be unloading some of its nuclear material on Syria. (New York Times)
Israel Hit Syria Base Financed by Iran
Israeli planes last week bombed and destroyed a northern Syrian missile base that was financed by Iran, an Arab-Israeli newspaper reported Wednesday. Citing Israeli sources, Assennara said that Israeli jets “bombed, in northern Syria, a Syrian-Iranian missile base financed by Iran….It appears that the base was completely destroyed.” (AFP/Middle East Times-Egypt)

It is now a matter of time before the main elements of the story are released to the media. Both the Syrian and the Israeli leadership have been extraordinarily silent about this. According to European diplomats, the Syrians have made it clear that Israeli silence over the incident is “worthy.” The Syrians are not talking about the “strategic” target that was bombed in their territory - according to the Lebanese press. Its in situations like these that we once again see israel’s true colors.. the ones the shocked and awed the world in ‘67, entebee etc..
When you send in a commando team without political restraints, when you tell em get the job done at any cost.. they do it.
I remember seeing video clips of fighter pilots scrambling to their jets in ‘67 and the PA system blaring and one of the things it said was like “go up, defend your country, destroy out enemies.. and (az yisrael yoshev betach).. then / so israel will live in safety”
Thousands of stories emerged after the ‘67 war of open miracles.. a lot of military historians chalk it off but its there and documented..
Israel needs to get its judaism back, we need to be jews and not ghetto roaches.. we need to pray to g-d and then wipe the smiling shitfaces into oblivion!!!
A regional war will do us good, it will hopefully wake us up to the dangers that are out there.
After yom kipur war, the lubavitcher rebbe harshly criticized then general ariel sharon for not capturing cairo and damascus even for a few hours…
We pay the price for dickless coward politicians scared of UN cease fires and resolutions… we got rabbi’s with more balls than our generals…
Something happend here in hebron on Thursday night rosh hashana, there was a series of explosions, then next thing you know it you got whole teams of soldiers runing like the devil.. I was like WTF.. but then I saw the hebron first response team runing, m-16’s in firing position and radio’s blaring I was like aight i’m geting the hell out lol

This is absolute bullshit. I’m sick and tired of Israel thinking they can bomb Syria whenever they feel like it.
After all, couldn’t they do it when Pelosi or Kucinich or one of the other 5th column traitors are in the target area? Just asking.
September 16th, 2007 at 5:20 PMUsing
What would our aircraft being doing in the skies over Syria? Muuuuuhahahahaha…
I wonder if a Wing of B-52’s flying at 60,000 ft at, say, 600mph, could let loose their payload while still inside Iraq and have the target destroyed- could the bombs drift that far? Fifty miles from Iraq. Just wondering.
I’m thinking this has something to do with the Russkis showing off their “Father of all Bombs” last week.

My favorite line:

September 16th, 2007 at 8:10 PMWhen I heard that Muslims were burning cars in France, I was initially sympathetic, since burning a car is sometimes the only way to make sure it won’t be driven by a female. Plus, I think something good could eventually come of all this, if we could just find a way to cross-pollenate the French and Muslims, and create a hybrid race of Muslims who surrender.

2 Israeli soldiers actually have been killed by thrown rocks. Their deaths changed the way they now respond. I was watching Bloody Sunday the other day, and was cringing with disgust as people threw rocks at tanks/APC’s, etc…why the fuck do people insist on doing that? It’s goddamned stupid, pointless. Not that Bloody Sunday wasn’t a crime against humanity, but you know what I mean.

The Iranians are Persians, and there has been bad blood between Arabs and Persians for centuries if not millenia so on one level this shouldn’t be surprising.
September 16th, 2007 at 11:08 PMHowever, the attack was carried out by Israel so Arab non-reaction could indeed be expected to freak out the mullahs.

However, Syndic (Related to the Grand Admiral are we? Perhaps you know Baron Soontir Fel and his son Jagged
), The Bible is not just a bunch of fantasy stories. Archaeologists are finding that many of the historical events in the Bible (stretching back to the Flood!) in fact happened. And each time Israel fell, she had strayed from Adonai a little before that.
Perhaps my POV might be best illustrated by, erm, “editing” the comments you made:
Do I really have to believe in god in order to love and defend Israel? No. But it helps.
(NB: Some of Israel’s best friends and citizens have been believers of various stripes, and some of the worst enemies she’s had have been the “humanists”.)
Do I need a prayer to counter dhimmitude and leftist nihilism? No. But it helps.
(To combat ideas, you must have ideas to replace the ones you beat down.)
Just sayin’ ’sall.

Yes you do need to believe in g-d to defend Israel, that g-d created the world, he chose israel and gave them this land which is name the land of the israelites as a everlasting inheritance.
I would much rather die than fight to substain this pathetic socialist / facist government in Israel.
But alas I fight and will die for my land, my inheritance.. the goverment is just a pain you gotta deal with… like geting scratched during sex (unless your BC and like it) or geting hung over.. but aye the plesure is worth the pain!
September 18th, 2007 at 5:46 PMUsing
Nope. Our IDF is a highly effective fighting force, but it is not an army of religious fanatics.
And Israel is not a religious belief, but an undenyable historical fact.
Our ancient concept of god is completely irrelevant here.
That’s easy, especially with our dhimmi socialist government. Still, such a fatalistic attitude is wrong. Our true goal is to protect our citizens, defeat the enemy and survive. This requires more than faith.
