It’s amazing. The more money we pump into the Publik Skoool Sistem, the more incandescently ignorant the little morons attending the “schools” become (thanks to LC Lorraine):

Waving signs and American flags, Boulder High School students this morning will stage the first of what could become many Pledge of Allegiance protests in the school courtyard.

Members of the activist Student Worker club are inviting their peers to leave class every Thursday at 8:30 a.m. — when the pledge is recited over the intercom — and meet in the courtyard to say a revised version of the pledge that doesn’t reference God.

Oh good. The little tykes are taking an active interest in issues of the day. How wonderful. We wouldn’t want them to waste time studying, now would we? Of course, their little protest would be so much more impressive if the spokestoddlers had the faintest idea what they were talking about, but let’s not expect too much from the victims of the Publik Skools.

Club President Emma Martens, a Boulder High senior who’s leading the protest, wrote this new version: “I pledge allegiance to the flag and my constitutional rights with which it comes. And to the diversity, in which our nation stands, one nation, part of one planet, with liberty, freedom, choice and justice for all.”

We have to admit that, even for a functionally illiterate “beneficiary” of public “education”, that is quite amazingly obtuse, dimwitted and just plain incoherent. Congratulations! We thought that our publik skools had already hit rock bottom, yet you managed to start up the backhoe!

Members of the student group say they have three main gripes with theway the traditional pledge is read at the start of second-period classes: It takes away from school time;

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Students concerned about “wasting precious school time?” Oh yes, we’re going to believe THAT! Right after we take up worshiping the Easter Bunny. Besides, how is running around in the courtyard waving the hammer and sickle, chanting barely coherent “pledges” NOT taking away school time?

it’s ignored or disrespected by mocking teens;

And we are almost 100% certain that we know just who those mocking, disrespectful teens are. Now that’s Chutzpah! First you mock and jeer at the Pledge, then you use your own mocking and jeering as an argument against reciting the Pledge in the first place. Impressive.

and the phrase, “one nation, under God,” violates the separation of church and state.

It does, now does it? That’s funny, because generations of actual scholars have failed to see any such thing in the Pledge, not to mention that there IS no “separation of church and state” mentioned anywhere in the Constitution, but they must have just missed something obvious to a High School senior in Colorado. Yep, we’re sure that that’s what happened.

Now go back to class and work on your three R’s, you little mongrel, before we bring out the paddle.

“Boulder High has a highly diverse population, not all of whom believe in God, or one God,” Martens said. “We didn’t think it was fair for the whole school to have to listen to it.

“It’s almost religious oppression,” she said.

“Help, help! I’m being oppressed! What a give-away! Did you see the violence inherent in the system???”

Listen, missy, we really appreciate your feeble attempts at logical, coherent thought, but it’s painfully obvious to anybody with an IQ above Twiggy’s waistline measurement that you’re not quite ready for Prime Time yet, so why don’t you go conjugate some verbs, solve a few equations and, while you’re at it, look up “religious oppression” in Webster’s?

Hint: It doesn’t mean what you think that it means.

There. Off you go. And wipe the snot off your face, ferchrissakes!

Having been in Boulder for college (CU), I can tell you that there’s a large segment of the population there that are either Berkeley retreads or wannabes. I’m sure that these “delightful” high skrool students are operating under the influence of some parental unit, older sibling, or signficant other that hangs out at the University (looking for something to protest).

I loved being ROTC there, especially on drill days. I used to make a point of walking through maggot clusters in the student union, hoping for someone to start something. Never got my wish, though.

    And ……. FOIST! :em95:

We have our own university students who have all the answers on how to “make the world a better place”, as long as they’re in charge of course, who do not know the words of our National Anthem. At least yours know the words of your Pledge of Allegiance. They really think they have it all figured out, don’t they?!? Would the Emperor wish for me to send some tissues in order to help with the snot and all that? As soon as our students are done wiping their own that is…

now to be fair, we must remember that students in the public school system (and most charter schools as well) have not been taught actual history or facts pertaining to our constitution in decades. and sadly, most people don’t even understand why it really matters.

That was all I needed to hear.

Funniest part though is how their name is so patently false. They ain’t students since they already know everything (in their own minds anyway), and they definitely ain’t workers yet. Once they get out in the real world and reality bitch slaps the snot off their faces, hopefully they’ll wake up. Of course that’s after they finish their college indoctrination on their parent’s dime. And of course except for the few who manage to land one of the coveted professional protester/activist gigs. They will be able to stay perpetually clueless.

I’m with you Cheryl. Let’s see, a year in an “pisslamic paradise” without her parents to pick up, clean, cater to her every whim, earn the bucks so she can have every thing she wants without having to lift a finger, away from her Student Worker club which seem to think they have all the answers, would really do Ms Martens and her cronies a world of good. Now add the “mutwahs” (morality police) to “help her” make the “right choices” and see how she complains about how “oppressed” she and her socialists whinies really are once she’s back.

Yes Cheryl, you have exactly the cure for this nonsense! Now, if only the parents of these little darlings would agree to go along with them, we’d all be ahead now, wouldn’t we..?

You have to remember that this is from the People’s Republic of Boulder, our little piece of San Fran right here in Colorado.

This is where impressionable students rub shoulders with the likes of Ward Churchill and his associates.

This is also the land of the granola-heads that bleat about global warming while building their 6,000 sq ft mansions in the fire-prone foothills above Boulder.

Unfortunately, my sister-in-law is one of them. She’s never matured past her hippy days in the 60s and has passed on her moonbat ways to her children while raising them in Boulder.

Family gatherings are quite the spectator sport though, when she bashes heads with her brother, the retired colonel. How two such opposites could come out of one family beats me.

From the last paragraph of the Rocky Mountain News article:

“That would be better than nothing,” (referring to a proposed omission of “under God” from the official version of the Pledge - commentor) Martens said. “But we are not giving up because we really care about this, and we want to have our voices heard.”

Nice try. One of the first lessons of adulthood is: The right to be heard does not guarantee the right to be taken seriously.

I do have some questions for these snot-noses who think they’ve determined all to be known about life in death, in just a few years of high school….

OK, first and foremost, where in the Constitution does it have the phrase ’separation of church and state?’ It does not, the First Amendment says, and I quote:

    Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

No where! Where in the pledge does it make acknowledgement of a state church? So, rather than maybe take a chance on most Americans not setting up a State Church, and letting them be, you wanna remove their right to be patriotic and religious at the same time? FUCK YOU! Fuck Off and Die!

Second, the pledge was approved by Congress, years ago, and in no way are they going to strike out, Under God, for a few reasons.
    1. They don’t wanna offend the majority of Americans who may be religious and may vote for them. It’s cynical, but it’s an advantage for us.
    2. That’s years of tradition to remove, that we need not have to.
    3. America is predominantly religious, regardless of Marxist twits like you. Go tell a militant Jewish sect they can’t be religious and expect a visit from Cousin Shlomo and Cousin Ari, fresh off their tours of duty in the IDF or Mossad…..
    4. You’re not the majority, so stop acting like it. Majority decides removal, not you. Or at least it used to….

Third, these kids are 18 or younger, the minute they vote and have property or a financial stake in the US, they can holler all they want. Til this, these mommas boys and daddy’s girls living off the teet of upper middle class America can take a heaping cup of shut the f up.

Fourth, you’re in school, and I am certain your little gathering will detract from learning. You claim diversity being hurt, well how about you offending the religious, Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Muslim (spit), etc? Aren’t you being hypocrites? Hmmmmm?

Listen, Emma, you stupid Rocky Mountain Dyke! Shut up and leave the normal students alone…. normal being a stretch for Boulder.

Watch, you know the ACLUseless and the Democrap radicals are funding this. Follow the money for this group and I bet someone related to that Jeffrey Newdow prick is in on this.

Club President Emma Martens, a Boulder High senior who’s leading the protest, wrote this new version: “I pledge allegiance to the flag and my constitutional rights

How can you plege allegiance to constitutional rights? You can not. Allegiance is to a group or the symbol of a group-concept, so you can not really pledge allegiance to constitutional rights without pledging to the constitution (symbol) itself or the flag (symbol that represents the United States (group).

one nation, part of one planet,

explain why you need to pledge allegiance to the planet? Have we suddenly contacted outside life forms and are now in need of a one-government system? If we do, I have a government style in mind, the one we had at the end of the ratification of the constitution.

A seeking for relevance. Yet they have none. I’d love to know who is behind the scenes on this one. During my times in school, both high school and college, I generally encountered two types. The intellectual zealot, blind to all but his own cerebral erudition, lots of selective knowledge and not enough wisdom to fill a thimble. Then the airhead bleaters and losers. Rarely anything else in between. I simply ignored them as terminally useless maggots. I was right then and remain so today. It is sad they don’t realize they are being used and manipulated…but considering the character, or lack thereof, of many of these people, hardly surprising.

Seconded. What a wonderfully diverse school system we have. Now there’s engel extra cirriculars, marxist meetups and bolshevik bonding. And I’m sure these little skulls full of mush “just happened” to take up the glorious revolution of workers and peasants on their own too. Made all the more hilarious by the fact that these “workers” haven’t done a day of real work in their lives.

How much longer till we get the second revolution in gear?

    only in Boulder……

I grew up 11 miles east of Boulder in a town called Broomfield. Boulder was always good for entertainment for us rubes. We got a lot of laughs watching the hippies in the late 60’s and early 70’s. It’s good to see that there’s still plenty to laugh at out there.

There really is a simple solution to this problem and it doesn’t require a strike or protest….here it is:

if you’re offended by the words “Under God”…..then DON’T SAY IT!!!, the first amendment works both ways you self important fools!!! you have the freedom to say anything you want, and you have the freedom to NOT say anything you want. Just spare us your idiotic over sensitivities…if this is the biggest problem that you have in your life, I’ll gladly trade you the problems that I have.

Most of them will grow out of it, and a significant number will become Republicans as they get older.

We don’t know anything about their working status. You could just as easily argue that they work menial jobs to get a better understanding of the working class.

I hated saying the pledge of allegiance when I was in elementary school (didn’t have to in high school). Nobody indoctrinated me. I thought that rote recitation was stupid–that nobody thought about what they were saying. I thought the same thing of our Lutheran church services–had the whole thing memorized.

Now I do object to the under god thing. I’m agnostic–I do not deny the existence of a god, but I do not believe in one. I don’t fit the anti-theist model–I am very respectful of most religions. Under god was added during the McCarthy era. It’s not an original part of the pledge. It’s two words out of one sentence.

Also, I do not associate loyalty oaths with democracies. Japan just instituted one, and there was talk of having immigrants becoming European make a pledge to the EU, but that was dropped. I have not been able to find any others, but would welcome correction. Call me extreme–I’m a good citizen–why should I have to pledge allegiance? Does that one sentence magically make me a better citizen? I do pledge whenever it comes up.

    Elchenon
You are a perfect example of diversity–why do you call it bullshit? You do not have the typical American religious beliefs or ethnic background, but you are as much an American as any Anglo-Saxon Christian. (and very scary with your big gun/assault rifle?) I thought I remembered that you had dual citizenship–I will feel really foolish if that is not true.

I think the definition of diversity has become perverted. To me, it is different ethnicities, religions, political beliefs, and social classes, all part of one great country.

I cried a thousand joyful tears when I first hear this wonderful story! I thought all young persons were junior fascists bathing in cash and jerking off to Ann Coulter, David Duke and Savage. Now, I find there are some truly enlightened Citizens of the World coming up to take over power and the future!

I haven’t been this elated since Jimmy Carter came to enlighten, and illuminate, the minds of my campus! :em69:

    PC,
Yes I have dual citizionship, I have more pieces of ID than james bond..

I dont see whats “diverse” about me, I am a patriotic american, I respect everyone else’s religion and even cheapshot’s atheism.

Sure when cheapshot and his lady came to miami we ate at a kosher joint, that was nice of them to accomodate my beliefs. But I cant force people to do things.

Freedom of religion is where everyone can practice freely, but on the same level everyone needs quit this diversity bullshit.

Its sukot now, I cant eat out of the sukah (hut /booth) so if I was in the US you think I could force anyone to build one for me ? i.e. employer etc..

Thats bullshit, if I needed a sukah I find one or build my own.

I dont eat pork, am I offended by pork in walmart ? heck no! am I offended when the guy next to me on the plane eats pork? hell no! am i offended when the guy sitting next to me crosses himself ? hell no.

Religious sensitivity’s is so fucking totalitarian, just do your shtick freely and let me do my shtick!

If I gotta pray with my tefillen (black straps and black boxes) on in the airport I go to the corner.

I am sorry but those persons in a public venue have lost their right to “demand” you can kindly request… you can request I not smoke near your baby in a smoking area, you can request someone to not fomdle their girl friend in front of your 6 year old kids but beyond that its bullshit.

Just get the fuck up and walk away if you dont like something.

(IsraelNN.com) The secular-based Fatah faction has arrested Muslims who eat or drink in public during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, when the custom is to fast during the day. The arrests represent moves by Fatah to compete with the religious-based Hamas faction.

A 12-member morality squad has been operating in Ramallah, the seat of the Palestinian Authority (PA) government, to find offenders of the daily fast, the Associated Press reported. “If anybody violates this respect publicly in the street, we take their identity papers and hold them for investigation,” said PA police officer Murah Kendah. Other squads are to operate in other cities in Judea and Samaria.

    THAT is religious oppresion

and meet in the courtyard to say a revised version of the pledge that doesn’t reference God.

    And hellooooo disingenuity (disingenuousness?).

It’s not even about the removal of “under god”, a fairly recent addition. It’s about the total replacement of the Pledge with this rediculous tripe.

The reprogramming of the language is going just as the prophet Orwell predicted.

This kind of nonsense is unavoidable as long as government is providing “free” education. People will be continually fighting over what the curriculum should be. Education is too important to trust to politicians.

Parents should pay to educate sprogs out of their own pockets. Then they can choose exactly what they want their kids to be taught.

If you are concerned about the children of poor parents, start or help fund a charity school.
