We’ve just about had it with the internecine squabbling on the right about whether we should support Rudy McGunControl or not.

Allahpundit is all up in arms about how the Hildebeest is a sure bet now, what, with all of her fund-raising skills (some of the funds might even come from non-felons) and how the “social cons” won’t vote for his Wonderboy Rudy. Slublog, over at Ace’s, is singing from the same page of the hymnal, telling all of those silly social cons how they’re destroying the Republic and handing the Hildebeest a victory on a silver platter by threatening with not voting for Rudy, particularly since having the Hildebeest nominating Supreme Court Justices will most certainly not be any better than having Rudy do so.

Not that Slublog’s points aren’t valid, they’re exactly correct as a matter of fact, except for the simple fact that WE’RE NOT IN THE GENERAL ELECTION YET.

We haven’t gotten past the primaries, and they’re both harping on as if they’re already over and Rudy is The Only One™ and anybody opposing him is the Antichrist. Or something.

It’s silly, is what it is. Let’s have this stupid infight AFTER the primaries when we actually know who the GOP candidate IS, shall we? There ARE other candidates on the list, and acting as if that’s irrelevant and Rudy is the Anointed One Who Must Win™ sort of leaves the Rudy supporters wide open to a turnabout:

Hey, by voting for Rudy in the primaries you’re guaranteeing that a lot of conservatives will stay at home in November! Thus YOU are responsible for handing the victory to the Hildebeest! Just vote for some other GOP candidate, or are you willing to hand the Supreme Court to the liberals, cutting off your noses to spite your faces just because you insist on not voting for anybody but Rudy McPro-Abortion?

See how that works?

It’s fucking retarded, people. You’re starting a fight where nobody even knows what it’s going to be about.

Let’s get the primaries done with, and then we can start yelling at each other about whether to stay at home or not. As to ourself, even though Rudy McLiberal certainly isn’t our candidate and we certainly will do all that we can to make sure that he doesn’t get the nomination, if he manages to get it and is facing, say, the Hildevermin in the general election then yes, we will pull for the RINO bitch, even though he’s about as conservative as we’re female.

But this threatening each other over an issue that hasn’t even been decided yet is, we hate to tell you, at the very least a bit immature.

And that’s a British Understatement™.

Thatisall.

Sure, I’d vote for Rudy over Hillary. So what? I’ve got 6 months to convince the RINOs out there to vote for Fred! over Hillary. Besides, I don’t support a candidate because I think they can beat Hillary. I support a candidate because I agree with their stance on the issues that matter to me.

Not to worry, Allah and company! This is HILLARY we are talking about. She’s a unifying force, for both sides. Conservatives will make it into the polling place to vote against her if they have to crawl over broken glass. We are talking a 90% Republican turnout, here.

Of course, no one listens to me here either, but here goes:

It is ridiculous to think we are going to “give” the election to the Evil One. Why on earth does anyone think that God will put that openly evil criminal in charge of the country?

She has done nothing for anyone but herself and her husband to gain political power. Is she a communist? Socialist? How about megalomaniac?

She lusts for total control and unfortunately for her, if - IF - she wins the election there are too many people in her own party who hate her. I would expect her to get ice picked by the really far left before she could do anything.

If she ends up having to rule by decree, then we shall void her executive orders after we’ve fumigated the White House.

    Please.

Hitlary’s negative numbers are higher than any other Presidential candidate. The number of people who would not vote for her under any circumstances has been hovering between 49 and 52 percent since 2004.

ANY real Republican will beat her.

Conservatives who run as conservatives win. See Ronald Reagan, Campaigns of. Republicans who run as squishys get their asses handed to them. See George H.W. Bush, Second Term of.

Besides, we don’t know who the Republican Nominee will be yet - Karl won’t decide until November or so. :em93:

The problem with Rudy is the only difference between him and Shillary is the war. And now that shr is admitting she will not be able to just end the war in Iraq and bring home the troops, even that difference is blurring. If Rudy is nominated, I predict record returns for third party canidates throughout the South and the first Democratic wins in solid southern red states since Johnson and Carter.

I’m going to keep banging that drum too like I did a few days ago with this:

In order to WIN this one, we MUST dump the GOP as a derelict wreck and run candidates on Reagan-Conservative core values. Clearly defined as limited government, lower taxes, individual responsibility, strong national security and a clear commitment to keep the terrorists at bay at all costs. That’s the winning ticket, period. The End.

No individual candidate is going to “beat” the demoncrat candidate–it’s got to be the combined, motivated masses of sensible, conservative voters who will ultimately rally behind any candidate who’s opposed to the Skank in Chief wannabe. It’s best that the GOP candidate be fully tested in internecine battles before he/she (I always wanted Liz Dole to be the first woman POTUS) has to face the demoncrats’ selection. I, for one, am fully behind Fred Thompson and am working and praying that he’ll get the nomination. If Giuliani would accept the Veep nod, that’d be AOK. Romney and Huckabee are also great potential Veep choices and the GOP would do well to groom the latter for a POTUS run in future. After the GOP Convention, that’s when we can start in on Hildebeast and rally round whomever is the GOP candidate. I dare say there’s not going to be much undecided or cross-over voting in this election anyway. The lines, regardless of who among the hopefuls is selected by either party, look pretty broad and clear–either you’re voting to make the U.S. a sniveling, feckless, egoistic, amoral, borderless, socialist crap-hole, or you vote to recover as much of the Nation’s freedom, power, and moral standing as possible in the next 4 years–i.e., demoncrat or Repugnican, respectively. Thompson is the best of the GOP contenders, but any of them are lightyears above any of the demoncrat horde (except McCain, the real Manchurian Candidate). So get out and fight the first rounds in the SELECTION process, so we can get the strongest candidate into the ELECTION. Then feel free to vote against the enemy, if you can’t vote for a friend when voting for your Electoral College delegates (nothing is as simple as it seems, is it?).

hey, that’s cool. don’t worry about it. at least you will all have someting to complain about for the eight years following Stalin-in-a-pants-suit’s victory.

keep those blinders on! (why does this thread remind me of Ralph Nader supporters? Jeebus…. :em41: ).

Unfotunately, if Rudy wins the nomination, the primaries are the only time we will have a choice between the two. The bolded part describes Rudy 100% as much as it does the Hildabeast. A liberal NE Republican will not get my vote in the primary or in November. Period.

I always said you guys should want Hillary to be the nominee, because she’s got such high negatives. She is an egomaniac, and she’s not getting my vote in the Dem primary. Even The Nation editorialized against her.

However, were she to be elected, the sky would not fall from the heavens and life on earth as we know it would continue to exist. (although my stepson did say he would move to Canada–he’s fresh out of the military)

She is returning Hsu’s money; did anyone know he was a felon initially? It’s not like Gore’s weaselly Buddhist monastery issue (never forgiven by some Democrats). Wouldn’t an Abramoff comment be relevant, speaking of financial felons? –deleted a paragraph on him so as not to intrude too much on the Republican discussions

    SkyeChild,

Jimmy ‘Dumbass’ Carter was a governor. He was never a Senator.

    Imperial Tobacconist,

When you said that Americans do not elect Senators, do you mean while they are sitting Senators, or having Senator as part of their resume. If the former, I think you are correct, as the other one that comes to mind is JFK. If the later, there has been several who was a Senator before becoming President: James Monroe, William Henry Harrison, Andrew Johnson, Benjamin Harrison, Harry S. Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson comes to mind. Otherwise, anyone who is elected President tends to, lately, be a Governor, although in the past, the person was more than likely to have been a Secretary of State before he got the nod. But, if a sitting Senator, well, :em93:, someone please tell Senator Henry Clay that he’ll finally get his chance. :em93:

I corrected it later. He was a state senator in Georgia. I had misread his bio.

I’m surprised no one has been talking about Ron Paul seriously. The man made a 5 million in the 3rd quarter in fund raising, and has won 4/5 of the Republican straw polls.
