Bomber Wesley, the utter failure of a candidate you might remember from a few elections ago, wearing home-knit sweaters, flipping pancakes and daring anybody to question his patriotism, has joined the Anti-Rush Crusade, and we’re just about to die from laughing here.

In a blog to the Huffington Post, former NATO Supreme Commander Wesley Clark…

We’ll just leave that bit up there for a while for you to cherish. Former NATO Supreme Commander, now unknown Puffington Host blogger… Damn, with a CV like that, the sky’s truly the limit. Maybe for his next career move, he’ll be handing out cheap cologne in the mens’ room at the nearest gay bar.

Not that we claim to have ever been Supreme Commander of NATO or even a presidential candidate, nor do we ever expect to achieve either, but at least we can modestly brag that all of our career moves have been in the upwards direction. One thing we know for sure is that we’ll be dead and buried before we end up blogging for the Blatherton Toast and, even if the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune should force us to sink that low, we sure as Hell wouldn’t be bragging about it. We wouldn’t even mention it to anybody.

…called for Congress to immediately take steps to remove conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh from Armed Forces Radio.

Somebody calling for Congress to forcibly remove somebody they don’t agree with from the radio? And this tinpot dictator wannabe wanted to be President?

Last week, Rush Limbaugh labeled any American soldier who supports an end to the war in Iraq as “phony,” noted Clark.

The rest of us note that Wessie is about as impressive in the reading comprehension department (transcripts are widely available) as he ever was as a Supreme Commander, although we’re sure that the title “Supreme Commander” suits him a lot better than the title of “President.” The voters, by the way, seemed to agree.

“We challenged Limbaugh through an email campaign to invite VoteVets.org’s Jon Soltz to his show and repeat these same insults to an Iraq war veteran’s face. Over 10,000 people responded and emailed Rush — but to our disappointment, he has refused to respond to our request.

We’re still waiting for your honey-boy Harry Reid to respond to Rush’s invite to come on the show and call him “unpatriotic” to his face. We can play this game all year long, but the fact remains that Rush issued the challenge first. And why the Heck would Rush even want to call Whazzisface (who, by the way, thinks that the only soldiers allowed to speak out in uniform are the ones that agree with himself) a “phony soldier” to his face? Rush wasn’t talking about Whazzisface. The mere fact that we have mentioned that clown now means that we’ll have to go dip our fingers in Lysol and gargle Listerine for an hour.

“It’s time to put real pressure on Rush Limbaugh. His show is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio, and this time we are going to go straight to the lifeblood of Rush’s show — Congress.

Not to burst your bubble here, high-altitude random bombing boy, but somehow we don’t think that Armed Forces Radio is Rush’s “lifeblood.” We could be wrong, but we’re reasonably sure that Rush would be more than capable of scraping by with his “minor” gig on Clear Channel alone. But we find it quite enlightening that a “patriotic American” such as yourself is so hungry for the lifeblood of people you don’t like. Not to mention your strangely un-American call for Congress to prohibit free speech that you don’t agree with. Do the words “Congress shall make no law…” even mean anything to you, Mr. former candidate for the Presidency, now obscure blogger on the Billabong Boast?

Congress has the power to remove Rush Limbaugh from Armed Forces Radio, and it won’t be as easy for elected officials to ignore our call.”

Unless they happen to have read the Constitution, that is.

Clark further decried the fact that Republicans in Congress have drafted a resolution supporting Rush Limbaugh, “commending [his] relentless efforts to build and maintain troop morale through worldwide radio broadcasts and personal visits to conflict regions.”

Absolutely! How the fuck dare they commend a man for encouraging our troops in a time of war, entertaining them and lifting their spirits and traveling all over the world to do so in person while the DemCong have done so much for our country visiting with every shitcan terrorist dictator on the planet? It is OUTRAGEOUS!

“That’s outrageous,” concluded Clark. “Rush Limbaugh’s ‘phony soldiers’ comment should not be commended — it should be condemned. And it’s time to tell Congress to act swiftly to hold Rush Limbaugh accountable.”

One question, Wessie: How on Earth did you end up fighting against Milosevic? Was your Serbian not good enough?

Did I miss something? I thought Rush had named specific soldiers who had been caught lying about their war time experience -

Well, yes and no. He had done a bit about MacBeth the previous morning - which in fairness many listeners don’t catch. And in previous months he had mentioned (in varying degrees of detail) various other cases of persons who - in their apparent zeal to embellish their credibility and/or the prominence of their claims - had lied about either the nature of their military experience (such as MacBeth) or the nature of their experiences (such as Beauchump, er, Beauchamp).

But within the call itself, no specific person had been named before the ‘phony’ comment. This is the sort of situation that a lawyer-esque critic can use to redefine ‘context’ for their own rhetorical advantage.

not all soldiers who spoke out against the war. In my mind, there is a difference.

Of course there’s a difference, and anyone listening who had even the faintest familiarity with the show knew immediately what he was referring to. And quite frankly, so do most of the Dems who are riding his ass about this. In God’s dictionary under ‘disingenuous’ is a picture of Senator Reid.

True, but they’d have to have their lawyers work overtime for a while on the wording under “reasons for dismissal”, or they’d have a major shitstorm on their hands.

That’s the thing about the First Amendment. There ARE “loopholes” and ways for Congress to get around it, but they still have to get it past the Supremes who, usually, tend to side with the Constitution when there’s doubt. Allowing something like this to slide would create one heck of a precedent. Try this one on for size: The government does have the power to take broadcasting licenses away, but wouldn’t that be a violation of the First too? Which is more important. Their power to regulate or the Bill of Rights?

Wanting to use Congress as a club to smash someone with different opinions would be indicative of a person’s true character, wouldn’t it? Now, here’s my question. From what I understand of your elections process, and from what I know of the actual candidates running for the presidency, if someone like Hillarious Klingon was in fact the President, is there a chance that Congress could be “convinced” to be used as a club to benefit the likes of this ex-flyer? (being an ex-military pilot myself, I find his position most repulsive…). And with the “President support” could pressure be brought to bear on the station without having to use the Court system? Just curious…

This is just another case of liberal sanctimonious male bovine waste matter. Clark has imbibed so much kool-aid that he has gone completely over to the dark side.

If a liberal says something and you disagree with what was said you’re not allowed to criticize them because you would be ‘depriving them of their first amendment rights’ or ‘questioning their patriotism’.

Rush says something that has been twisted out of all recognition into something he wouldn’t say if you put flaming splinters under his fingernails and Harry Reid calls him unpatriotic and Clark wants to ban him from Armed Forces Radio. Hmmmmm, I guess it’s only permissible to question a patriots patriotism and deprive him of HIS first amendment rights. Got it.

Double standards - a liberal tradition forever.

To be honest I don’t like Rush Limbaugh, I think he is a puffed up windbag. I do agree with most of his positions but that doesn’t mean I like him. It’s a personal taste kind of thing. I can’t point to what exactly it is but after a few minutes of listening I usually look for something else on the radio dial.

I just can’t let what the liberal slimemeisters are doing to him slide without comment. Limbaugh is a stauch supporter of the military and for the liberals to try to make an issue of this (hyperbole on) just makes me want to grab one and punch him in the face and then go, “It’s a conservative thing” (hyperbole off.)

Since congress is SOOOOO incensed over Rush’s comment, perhaps they will take care of THIS, as well:

    From Boortz this am:

    OAKLAND AIRPORT OUTRAGE

Yesterday in our Government Outrage segment, I didn’t have time to talk about this story. Sadly this story takes place, yet again, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Marines were on their way home from Kuwait to Hawaii when they stopped at the Oakland Airport for a layover. But the Oakland International Airport said that military personnel were not allowed in the airport terminal. The Marines were forced to deplane 400 yards away from the terminal. This was not because of security reasons as the Marines were already allowed to deplane at airports in Germany and New York.

The airport has now apologized to the troops.

Can you believe how the San Francisco Bay area is treating our men and women in uniform? Here’s just a partial list.

Permission to dock the Battleship Iowa in San Francisco as a floating museum to our Navy and the role of the Iowa in World War II … DENIED.

Permission for the Navy’s Blue Angels to participate in an air show over San Francisco Bay … OPPOSED

Permission for the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon to film a recruitment commercial on California Street in San Francisco … DENIED.

And now this debacle at the Oakland Airport?

    NOW, who’s dissing the troops?

    Here’s the “apology”:

“We apologize, I apologize to any members of the military that were on this flight and may have experienced some discomfort or perception of disrespect,” said Omar Benjamin, executive director of the Port of Oakland, which operates the airport.

    (emphasis mine).

But THIS is what frosts MY chops:

At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, airport officials said they did not realize that the soldiers had been screened during previous stopovers in Kuwait and New York.

Even if they hadn’t, the airport would be SAFER with unscreened MARINES in the terminal than with anyone else on the planet. Morons.

The San Fran Bay area can cecede from the Union and fend for themselves. Why should we protect these ingrates? Note to normal folks, move out, it’s only gonna get worse and the anti-Bay Area sentiment is growing. It’s kind of like God’s warning to Lot and his family, get out, cause the storm is coming, SOON.

San Fran can be it’s own country. They can have Gavin Twosome Newsome as their President or Central Committee Chairman, and Wesley Clark would be perfect as their Minister of Defence.

Sorry, but if San Fran gets hit, they’ll get no sympathy from me.

    Banning Fleet Weet

    Banning the Blue Angels

Banning the Marines from making a commercial, but allowing massive gay and anti-war protests.

Passing resolutions condemning the military, and praising the Islamofilth.

Passing resolutions to silence truth tellers like Michael Savage and Talk Radio in general.

And of course, the Oakland Airport Incident.

And Clark, of course, didn’t even get Limbaugh’s talk right. Rush was a mashing up that MacBeth loser, not every soldier. Although, he makes a point that most dissenters, so-called experts, are a bunch of malcontents who were about to be drummed out of the service, anyway. Most of them are FORMER military, and thank God they’re not in the military anymore.

If there were guys like these so-called peaceniks in the Armed Forces, back in WWII, they were usually called saboteurs, Grief Commandos, and yes traitors. And back in the day, they got staked to a nice piece of timber and shot by a firing squad, or hanged. Back in WWII, the stigma of a traitor was so bad, that those traitors couldn’t get jobs. They had to leave the US. Now, the traitors get book deals, press conferences, and more rights and perks than real soldiers……

It sickens me, that General Clark, a NATO commander who wanted to remove the US insignia and flags off our aircraft, to replace them with the UN or EU flags was thinking he had the stuff to be President. Thankfully, he wasn’t able to make it, and won’t ever get that high an office. This ought to be enough, in a perfect world, to get Generals Patton, MacArthur, Howling Mad Smith, and others to hop from their tombs and beat Clark’ass, kick that MacBeth kid, and string up that chump Murtha. I’d let ole Howling Mad Smith do the honors, as he was a Marine and Murtha smeared the Corps, which he said he served so well in….

God I miss the old days. Long before my time and my parents time, but fresh enough for my grandad to remember.

Wesley Clark and all the leftie il-liberals make me sick! They need and want the ass kicking they so richly deserve. Kick Rush off AFR and see what response you get from the troops. Of course, our il-liberal demo fiends don’t want our military people to vote, either. They actively discourage it. Dear God, your people await your meting out of justice!!

Armed Forces Radio is produced by our military, so Congress can indeed ‘make it so’ by ordering them to drop Limbaugh from their lineup.
Rush Limbaugh was not even on the list of choices the troops were given last time, his show was a write-in and drew more votes than any other. This would mean that removing his broadcast would damage morale, but General Clark never worried about morale when he was on active, so that certainly wouldn’t be a concern for him now.

Well thanks for the comments on Wesley Clark. I wasn’t quite sure why he was considered evil.

As for the Blue Angels, San Francisco supervisors voted down the ban, which seemed to be sparked by a previous safety incident, rather than some deep-seated hatred of the military.

This is just another case of liberal sanctimonious male bovine waste matter. Clark has imbibed so much kool-aid that he has gone completely over to the dark side.

HEY! WE are the darkside! How many times do we have to tell you that? Somebody haul him off to the Imperial Game Room.

The San Francisco stupes hate the military, a barely concealed anger manifested in social tantrums of deviant, odd behavior. Some stupes are actually quite amusing in drag, demonstrating how out of touch with reality San Franciscans collectively remain. I remember SFO well, worked on the wharf as a laborer when I got out of the Navy. Good riddance to The Shitty, the country better of without it. I lived in the bay area some twenty years, not counting another fifteen in San Jose. I fled to the country towns inland. They want my guns, they can grow their own goddammed food too….but fortunately country folk have little time or patience for such behaviors. And the left has no stomach for trying to disarm, man to man, an angry populace. I have extended this invitation to severial liberals of my acquantance, not one has seen fit to take me up on it. Funny how that is………

I work near Moffett Field where the Blue Angels stage for Fleet Week, and this morning RIGHT after the new Airbus 380 made it’s debut visit to SFO (which i saw from my office window as it approached final) i saw the Blue Angels blast past my window on their way up the peninsula. Right over Belmont, where the new Ban on Smoking In Your House just went into effect; just over Redwood City, where “democrat fundraiser” Hsu sits in Jail.

They were doing their survey runs today and i hope to hell they pissed the fuck out of as many people as possible. Psychochick, if you believe the Supes want to ban the Blue Angels over “safety” issues, I have a bridge i’d like to sell you. I call it the Dumbarton.

I’m sorry to hear tha, Chris. I have a friend with aids, she contracted it during a blood transfusion some twenty odd years ago, giving birth. She has lived with it all these years, first HIV positive, now going active, her daughter watching her mother being slowly killed from her birth. Needless to say, I have tried to help in whatever fashion I can, meaning not much. But two grand a month on medications is off the charts… Agreed, AIDS is a scourge, a horrible disease. And in this case was not behavior oriented…….not that it makes any difference to the victims.

Caveman - Hornet sits there today as a museum. I served on it in ‘68-’69 in the MarDet. A bunch of us have been back to her a few times in recent years for reunions. Great times and memories. The museum foundation has attempted to move it from its current, rather remote location, to the San Francisco side where it could get more exposure. Not too surprisingly San Francisco said “No”. Could you imagine what an attraction it would be to have it, Pampanito and Iowa all lined together?

A magnificent vessel, The Hornet, one of the most decorated, feared flattops in the fleet, picked up Apollo 11, and said to be haunted. I hold her in great respect and affection. Having served on one of those traveling cities it wouldn’t be hard to imagine. Yes, to imagine such a collection, yet the left cannot stand history they cannot rewrite. Doing so with such vessels would prove a tad problematic.
