Sir Christopher informs us that the Moonbats are, once again, wetting their diapers and clutching on to their tinfoil for dear life.

Vanessa Alarcon saw them while working at an anti-war rally in Lafayette Square last month.

What? Men in Black? Black Helicopters? Orbital Mind Control Lasers?

No, it was much, much more ominous than that:

“I heard someone say, ‘Oh my god, look at those,’ ” the college senior from New York recalled.

An expression that we too were wont to use in the past when viewing the unwashed, cacophonous spectacle that is your usual gathering of Chiroptera Lunaticus. Nowadays, however, we tend to just rely on nose- and earplugs. Seen one, seen them all and all that.

“I look up and I’m like, ‘What the hell is that?’ They looked kind of like dragonflies or little helicopters. But I mean, those are NOT insects.”

Out in the crowd, Bernard Crane saw them, too.

“I’d never seen anything like it in my life,” the Washington lawyer said. “They were large for dragonflies. I thought, ‘Is that mechanical, or is that alive?’ ”

That is just one of the questions hovering over a handful of similar sightings at political events in Washington and New York. Some suspect the insect-like drones are high-tech surveillance tools, perhaps deployed by the Department of Homeland Security.

Because, as we all know, they have nothing better to do than to sit around all day, watching hippies banging drums and taking their clothes off. We mean, it’s not like they could just turn on their TVs or anything.

Nevertheless, we’re not the kind of Emperor to ignore concerns like that, even if they do originate from parts of the citizenry not exactly known for intelligent thought. Something spooked the cattle, and we’re not about to sit around ignoring it, allowing it to become a stampede. So we consulted with some of the high level experts inside the Imperial Circle of People Who Know Stuff that Nobody is Supposed to Know™, more specifically two five-year-olds who just so happen to live in the Imperial Palace, and they knew just exactly what was the source of all the commotion.

And now you know too. For just $49.99 plus tax, you too can scare the everloving snot out of a bunch of drooling hippies.

For added effect, paint it black and strap a little webcam on it.

Damn..paranoid lot, aren’t they? They wouldn’t like it out here in farm country. Just the other day, stepping out for a smoke, I spotted what I thought was a hummingbird.
    It wasn’t.
A rather large dragonfly..but they munch on skeeters and aphids, so fine with me. I guess I should have posed…or perhaps the last thing an operator would see is the business end of a can of Raid, or a flyswatter. Might be time to employ a little PSY-OPS. Hippies. As best illustrated by the reaction to the Air Force 1 decoy (the “white plane”), hippies refuse to acknowledge that there could possibly be a legitimate security purpose to advanced, classified technology being deployed over the most important targets in the nation.

Makes me wish I was a kid again. The Empress mentioned six, well, maybe eight for me. I could have driven these dudes and dudettes nuts. Not just that my mom didn’t appreciate the toads in my pocket or anything….
My idea of the unusual was a tad more mundane. When I was a kid I used to watch cats eat dead rats, lizards and stuff like that. In truth I felt the best was watching the neighbor’s dog eat a Brillo pad. Maybe I’d plug up the downspouts with rotten fruit to watch my father’s reaction or jump off the roof in front of the kitchen when my mom was doing dishes. Then again I could put little green army men on the tracks and wait for the train, they squish real good.
When I was a kid I think my favorite was to drink water out of the gutter in front of our house; that was guaranteed to somewhat excite my mother. That ended the day I looked up and spotted the neighbor’s dog pissin’ in the gutter upstream.
The neighborhood classic was getting caught using a douche’ bag for a squirt gun, hold it under your arm and squeeze, they work very well. I thought it was a bath toy, how was I to know?
The little girl next door found a balloon in the street. She blew it up and took it home to show her mother, who promptly screamed, burned her balloon and washed her mouth out with soap. Nobody ever told us why.
I remember with absolute endearment the day two friends and I caught that alligator lizard, we worked for it too. He was about a foot long and chomped me a good one. Being so proud of our recent acquisition we simply had to show it to someone.
We had a cleaning lady, Lovie Mae, who come in and helped once a week. So being eight-year old boys we really didn’t comprehend the idea of somebody not liking an alligator lizard.
Knocking on the back door we waited with gleeful anticipation. As Lovie Mae open the door we shoved the lizard in her face, hissing, spitting and yelling, ”Lookit what we caught!” Her eyes bugged out and she let out this god-awful scream and slammed the door.
We just didn’t understand this at all. She seemed upset. It’s not like it was a toad. In stunned silence we looked at each other, then broke out in sadistic laughter.
Suddenly the door opened and there stood Lovie Mae, a broom in her hand and fire in her eyes. We lit out for parts unknown, Lovie Mae had a right that would have done George Foreman proud. I’m surprised I wasn’t sold at the flea market after that stunt.
And these people worry about flying cameras?

RCM generators are even cooler then the Radio Shack bug-bots.
First called entomopters, they use a chemical muscle to power the wings and create a small amount of electricity that can be used for limited r/f control.

The mechanical insect, known as an “Entomopter” is based around a new development called a Reciprocating Chemical Muscle (RCM) which is capable of generating autonomic wing beating from a chemical energy source. Through direct conversion, the RCM also provides small amounts of electricity for onboard systems and further provides differential lift enhancement on the wings to achieve roll and hence, steered flight.

The fourth generation motor is less then three inches wide (first link) and has a vibrationless power/reciprocating motor

This harkens back to the “chemtrail” glurge so popular with the black helicopter crowd in the 1990s. I remember a conversation I had with an otherwise normal knifemaker, not knowing he bought into this stuff; one minute we were discussing his work (which was superlative) and the next he was on about the “50,000 UN troops bivouacked outside of Libby, Montana.”

I called a friend who lived in Libby and we had a good laugh over it. Next time I saw the knifemaker, I couldn’t resist. I mentioned that I’d just returned from deer hunting outside of Libby (slipping in a few “authentic” details gathered from my friend) and that we’d seen no troops.

(Of course, I also mentioned that we’d seen plenty of signs of the troops… areas where they’d camped, a couple of empty ration boxes with Belgian writing on them, etc. — I’m sure he still believes they’re out there, in their blue-helmeted glory, somewhere.)

The comedic possibilities with these people are endless.
