    Fuerst!

    Regarding Link Two:

Despite the visual slogan at the end of the late High Priest’s soliloquy (”To live on in hearts we leave behind is to never die,” was it?), Carl Sagan is–as Lefty Chase would put it–still dead… :em93:

I like the serial killer or programming language writer quiz. It’s the best of both worlds for me-criminal investigation and computers. :em69:

BTW, Deej, what the heck happened to the preview line that appeared below the comment form?

    0.9 on the programmer/serial killer!

I would love to use David Berkowitz’s comment as my e-mail signature: “I didn’t want to hurt them. I only wanted to kill them.” You know, I could get away with it on the Rottie/right wing debate account. Not a good idea for the family account.

They are already worried about me for buying knives and wanting to learn to shoot and to fence. Perhaps the Rott has been a bad influence!

    I liked the Sagan piece……

although I never agreed with his politics. His show was kinda cool……especially when watched with a head full of illicit substances sold to me by those geek/dealers in link #5

Wanting to protect yourself adequately instead of becoming another statistic is nothing to be worried about! That is not “bad influence” but rather an awakening to the reality of our world. Being self-sufficient is just that, being able to take care of oneself instead of waiting for the police to show up and do some chalk artwork around your lifeless body…
Wussies, leftards and other weaklings might not like it, tough, but I say Bravo to you! Best wishes from Canada.

Does that happen a lot? I am thinking that there are more people who get killed in auto accidents each year than are attacked and killed by some goblin. Those deaths can be “defended against” also, yet they still occur.

By all means, defend yourself by any means necessary. Go for what you know. There are so many different ways to defend yourself BESIDES a gun, and you should learn those also.

Yeah, but it takes the fun away, doesn’t it!?!?
Just being facetious here DJ, I agree, there are different ways to successfully defend yourself, but it seems more and more difficult to do when the assailant is armed with a firearm and you’re armed with a knife, and I agree, these occurences are rare, but would I want to take a chance? By myself, perhaps Sir, but with my wife or loved ones? Definitively firearm. Yes, car accidents are frequent, but they are just that, accidents. When a goblin decides you are to become a corpse, that’s another story all together. Making a stupid mistake at the wheel is one thing, being targeted by an assailant and becoming a crime statistic, quite another.

How are you doing DJ? Getting better I hope…

How the hell you gonna protect against a car crash besides wearing a seat belt? whats next mandatory crash suits?

So yes wear a seat belt.. and carry a gun.. theres no saying that the seat belt will save yer life if you get hit by a trackter trailer head on.. and your gun may not save you if your hit in a drive by shooting..

Maybe we’d better just outlaw all trackter trailers and then the highways will be safe.. at least according to the brady shakedown mafia.
