I think it is “Lest We Forget”…
“Lest We Never Forget” implies caution that we wil always remember, the opposite of what was trying to be conveyed.

Son of the Godfather- Allow me to rephrase to assure the context. Lest we never forget that some gave the last full measure of devotion.

I’m not trying to sound contrary here…. But I agree with godfather on this one.
“Lest we never forget” sounds wrong
    *update*
Sorry Jackboot but I looked it up and
    From dictionary.com:

    lest
    –conjunction
    1. for fear that; so that (one) should not (used negatively to introduce a clause expressive of an action or occurrence requiring caution)

again, not trying to be contrary, but there it is ^^

LC JackBoot IC/A-OBR says: Lest we never forget that some gave the last full measure of devotion.

LC, I humbly state that this is the same incorrect useage.
It would accurately be stated : “Lest we forget that some gave the last full measure of devotion.” as a caution that we should NOT forget these awesome sacrifices…

As an example, I should tie my shoes, lest (for fear) I trip and fall. The way you have it, it would be: I should tie my shoes lest (for fear) I WON’T trip and fall.

Not trying to be an asshat here :)

    I think this is appropriate:

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

I lived just outside DC most of my life until 2 years ago, and I’ll always regret I never got around to visiting the Wall.
I was a REMF while many of the rest us were in ‘Nam. I will always remember them, and the others before & after, who gave and continue to give all for this country to remain free (as long as the rest of us can keep the Socialists & Communists at bay).

I know how you feel Sir… Too many times I’ve heard the news that some of our own were killed, many of them close friends, while serving Canada. And we sometimes tend to forget, as a society, that its not only soldiers from our own country that paid the ultimate price, but those of our allies as well… They ALL deserve to be honoured and remembered.

And there is NOTHING worst than having to meet with a friend’s wife to tell her the bad news. Or to have a little boy of eight asking you why his daddy had to go away and is not coming back. No amount of self-control will ever be sufficient to hold back the tears, how do you answer that..? However, your lost friend will live on inside your heart and mind Sir, he will not be forgotten. And I have a few of those myself. Gee, it is dusty in here.

Yeah, we owe a lot to these soldiers, past and present. Like I mentionned in a previous post, the rows of medals on the chests of those few remaining are a silent reminder that the last installment on the price of freedom was paid in full…

A eternal Thank you to all…

“When he reach the Pearly Gates
    To St.Peter he will tell
    ‘One more soldier reporting sir
Ive served my time in Hell’”

Its hard to look at, especially when you remember all the shit Vietnam vets had to go through when they came home. Not too mention they werent even included in Memorial day parades till the 80s. RIP you’ve done your job.
