Inspired (too late) by LC & IB Michelle’s poster competition, we decided to go right ahead and apply our very limited PhotoShopping skillz to a healthy dose of ripping off old concepts, and this is what we came up with:

“Oohs” and “Aaahs”, while not obligatory, still come highly recommended. The Stormtroopers are a bit — restive these days. And bored.

Sadly, I remember that infamous day of unabashed tail-tucking. I pray that we don’t end up with similar pictures out of Baghdad in the coming months. If you recall, it wasn’t all that long after we were bombing North Vietnam into almost complete submission (Operation Linebacker II) that an “honorable” peace treaty was negotiated - with a very leftist Congress holding the checkbook gun to Nixon’s head. Congress then turned their financial backs to S. Vietnam in ‘74 and left them wide open for a relatively unencumbered invasion in ‘75. Defeat snatched right out from the jaws of victory.

    Look at the similarities:

Nixon was loathed by the lefties and the Press. So is GW.

Operation Linebacker 2 was highly effective. So is the Iraq “troop surge.”

Early ’70s Congress threatened to cut military funding to hasten a troop pull-out of S. Vietnam. Today’s lefty Congress has repeatedly tried to do the same.

Congress forces Ford to turn his back to S. Vietnam because of the 1973 Congressional Ban on all military activity in SE Asia (Case-Church Amendment). South Vietnam falls less than 2 months after being invaded. If the Dildocrats have their way, this same scenario WILL be played out again. Mark my words! The Jihadis need only wait for a solid dildocrat majority in Congress with a like minded President.

We didn’t learn shit from Vietnam.

Course what should we expect–the demoncrats’ strongest candidates are a strawman for Doprah and a former first lady so widely despised and with so many skeletons in her closet, running her in the final election would be the greatest gift to the GOP the DNC could give.

    Sheese! Always the critics!

Okay I will post my bestest one later. First I have to figure out why my damn oil burning furnace isn’t oil burning my heat this morning. It is fookin’ freezing in here! Even the Rott in the picture at the top of the page here is shivering.

    But first:

Clicking on Deej’s did confirm for me that at least he’s consistent about making WP sites that somehow take forever to load on my 10 Mbit connection.

My site loads in under one second on this 3mbps T1 line. The Rott loads in about six seconds. My Comcrap 12mbps loads MY SITE in about one second and this site in about the same five or six seconds.

There are several different reasons for this — and none of them have anything to do with the theme design. (this site loads just as fast/slow in the default Wordpress theme — check it out in the theme changer in the top left column)

First — and this surprises most cable customers — a cable network is a very convoluted network. Comcrap, and Road Runner are probably the most convoluted. The “high speed” that they boast of 8 - 12 mbps is a “burst rate speed” and not an actual speed. Your speed is only as fast as the network your system runs through.

Second — While this site is on a dedicated server, it is a server that is running through a network that is probably overbooked, so its response times might be a bit slower at peak hours.

Third — and this is something that people don’t like hearing — maybe there is a bottleneck in your computer or local network. Maybe your computer is plugged up with spyware, or just getting tired?

The thing is, I can reach MY site on any number of computers and any number of different networks pretty darn fast. This site is slower because of the network that is Hosting Matters. It is just how it is.

One thing I find very interesting is that we have forgotten that the democrats that got the US involved in the two conflicts that started a very dangerous trend for this country, which is sending US soldiers into a long term conflict without a formal declaration of war. I know many people on this site will denounce that a purely semantics, however it is a fact that we have not issued a formal declaration of war since World War II. There are afew other things I say that may recieve some harsh reactions on this website and I understand. The bottom line is that it was a Republican president who ended both Korea and Vietnam.(Eisenhower ended Korea and Nixon ended Vietnam.)
