…4.5% growth in GDP is a “recession.”

At least according to the MSMidiots, inasmuch as they’re willing to even talk about the second-highest quarterly growth since Q2 of 2000.

Mustn’t disturb the narrative, don’t you know? We’re in THE WORST ECONOMY SINCE HOOVER!!!!1!!!1ONE!!!!

This, of course, coming hard on the heels of a record-breaking sales record for Black Friday which, unsurprisingly, also went almost unmentioned.

With all of the concerted effort that the “unbiased” media has put into downplaying the economy and convincing everybody that we’re about five minutes away from long lines at the soup kitchen over the last seven years, one can only wonder how well the economy might have been doing if it hadn’t been for the Journaljizzmers putting political preference over the welfare of American citizens.

Oh, and “Women, Minorities Hardest Hit.”

Had to put that in there, since the media clowns managed to forget for once.

Thatisall.

A thousand years from now, when future historians are contemplating the implosion of the greatest Republic the world has ever known, they’ll drive big, fat nails into the collective asses of the press and educators, whose job it was to inform and educate the citizens, without bias, about the world around them. You know, so they could make sound decisions regarding their leadership and their future.

This is why many many sheeple in this country need to be beaten about the head and neck. My uncle, who I dearly love like my own father, was making the argument over thanksgiving about how bad the economy is, then in the next breathe tells me and shows me pictures of his (not brand new) new 34 foot class A motorhome. Um, yeah. The economy is so bad, the casino where I work is in the preliminary steps of building a resort- not just a new casino, but a complete resort. Hotel/casino, convention center, golf course, the whole package. It’ll dovetail nicely with the outlet center they already have. The conservative estimate is 850M-1.1B dollars. Not bad for a small tribe in the hills east of San Diego. Heh- bad economy, my fat white ass. Seems to me I remember that “a rising tide lifts all boats”…

    Back on topic…

The press and the educational system are actively digging our graves. An ill-informed and poorly educated populace is one that is easily controlled. Our founding fathers did not foresee this shameful state we find ourselves in today because they were blind idealists, at least in the sense that they seemed to think that their convictions concerning patriotism and civic duty would always be the primary force driving Americans. These brilliant men crafted a brilliant document, the Constitution, under the assumption that Americans and their leaders would always place America first. They simply could not envision the press as a political party, or grossly underachieving government controlled schools, or the Buy-My-Vote Entitlement State where people sell themselves into financial slavery for a monthly gubmint check. Had they been more “practical” concerning human nature and why great cultures of the past flourished, faltered and collapsed, they would have crafted an equally brilliant Constitution and Bill of Rights with air-tight wording, perhaps spelling out in detail their exact intent. The 2nd Amendment, for example, might have read something like this:

“It is the right of every citizen to own and bear arms, this being necessary to insure both personal welfare and public safety. No Federal, State or Local authority will impose laws or regulations that in any way hinder a citizen from exercising this right. This right can only be terminated upon conviction of a felony involving violent intents or acts.”

Demanding schools provide a sound education that thoroughly teaches young people about citizenship, the Constitution, the government, and the true foundations of our culture is the best way to combat the moonbat™ railroading of America into oblivion.

Oh… Robert Heinlein’s Starship Troopers should be REQUIRED reading in all public schools.

Hell NO! When I mean “Demand” I mean “DEMAND!” We need to give the entire educational system a “SSE until Clear” (Soap Suds Enema until Clear). We need to flush the system of PC ideologues, new-age moonbats and Socialists scum that brainwash our kids and replace them with teachers that teach the long lost art of CRITICAL THINKING. Our kids need to learn to distinguish between facts, fiction, editorials, and propaganda. They need to be able hack through the bullshit so they can glean the truth. How can they learn the truth about our American Heritage and our duties as citizens if we don’t exile the current crop of dopey leftist asshat educators to a Commie Commune™ in the middle of the Pacific (Hawaii)?

Honestly, the best way to fix education is to take it away from gubmint. The voucher idea was the best to date, but like a loan shark, when da gubmint “gives” it alwaysexpects something in return. We need to completely privatize education and let the consumer dictate curriculum.

To the good Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Post Coasties on Hawaii: Sorry to have to suggest that Hawaii become a mass commune for Moonbat edumacators. It seems like a scary prospect, but I honestly believe you’d scarcely notice any difference.

Da Major hits the nail on the head and drives it through the frigging plank.

An ill-informed and poorly educated populace is one that is easily controlled.

Just look to the festering shit holes of the Mideast for confirmation. All it takes is Look! A shiny Jew! and these shiteaters are running amok in the streets like crazed Orcs after a menstrating Hobbit. Now look at the Jenna 6 crap or the Tawana Brawley mess. That is our future. Let the seething begin!

    I’ll just get more ammo.

Seriously, this has to begin, like every other revolution, at the local level. We have to get more involved in our school systems. I know, it stinks having to deal with the fools and traitors that comprise the NEA, but there are many who disagree with the PC policies of educators but are afraid to speak their minds. Let them know that there is a committed base out there that will support them no matter what. And buy more ammo.

So hold your nose and start attending school board meetings. Don’t say anything right away. Get to know the lay of the land. Find out what the issues are that are discussed and learn enough to talk intelligently about them. Buy some more ammo. Learn constitutional issues by writing to various organizations like the Rutherford Institute (I have used them - they are awesome) and get their materials, give financial support where you can. Attend the student/teacher meetings and get to know the teachers. Some are just whackjobs, some are all caught up in themselves and others are just decent people trying to make it through to retirement. Buy them some ammo.

Be consistent, be willing to listen but be firm. Follow through on issues that are pertinent because bureaucrats are busy and they will put things on the back burner if no one is putting pressure on them. Some of these idiotic policies are determined on the State level so be prepared to travel so you can buy ammo all over your State. Identify State legislators who are sympathetic with your views. Network with others who share your concerns and, in concert with like minded citizens, buy ammo in bulk quantities.

Here in Aus we have just have a change of gubmint the oppo voted in by people who never experienced a left wing gubmint. Now they will and I hope it sticks in their craws.Weve had 11 years of phenomenal growth, unions became redundant and the GDP became better than anywhere,(all because of china) but now the undereduated voted for a change, and they will get it, with unemployment stacking up the 10% of the current workforce within 2 years.
Just remember that the poorly edcated workforce IS easily manipulated, thats why the moonbat education workforce is pushing this adjenda.

Starship Troopers is good sci-fi, but it is the concept of earning the full rights and privileges of Citizenship that makes it brilliant. If any of you Rotties haven’t read it, I strongly suggest you do. Heinlein does a phenomenal job of introducing this timeless ideology through an entertaining work of science-fiction that reads like the diary of a young military recruit. I gave a copy of it to my son when he finished Marine Corps boot camp. I thought it might help put his hard work and sacrifice into proper perspective.

BTW… The 1997 movie by the same title does not even come close to capturing the message of the book. It does, however, feature this:

Hey, you weren’t offended by that “heathen atheist” bit I posted, were you?

Offended? Not in the least! I AM an atheist thru and thru. And I would NEVER cut a man off from his favourite beer!!! Between you and me, an ice-cold Blue would go down very nice right now…

And of course, an ‘18 taking off is always a treat to this old jock! I always wished to meet a member of your Blue Angels, but not to be had. I have met quite a few Air National Guard, Marines and Air Force drivers during Red and Maple Flag exercises mind you. We always had a great time, and yes, many a cold one was sacrificed on the altar of good cheers… I still rumble about a 26 years old F-16 jock “nailing” my butt during an exercise though. I really thought I had lost him, but he stayed slightly below and close to my six throughout the loop. When I levelled off and started a hard left turn, he called the shot , close enough for cannon at a distance of about 1100 - 1200 feet, he could hardly miss! (gun cameras don’t lie). He was GOOD. He did admit that keeping up was one of the hardest thing he had to do and considered himself lucky to have stayed in position. After watching the footage, he was not lucky, just damn good…

I gathered you read my speed correction concerning the F-22 right turn producing the Prandtl & Glauert Singularity (sometimes, I try to go too fast and miss stupid mistakes like that). The singularity is encountered in the transonic range, and g forces in the 2 to 4 range would be expected, depending on the “bite” of that turn. Look who I’m saying this too!?!? You probably know as much, if not more, than I do on the subject!!!

Some of the questions they answer for the public are…..silly.

I have been a”host” to a couple of airshows myself, I can relate alright! We’d take turns at standing by our respective aircraft while on the ground and answer questions directed by the visitors. People are interested, that’s for sure, but my nicest story is the following:

We were at an airshow in Montreal. Expecting many visitors during the afternoon, a colleague offered to “babysit” with me. He’d stand on the left, myself on the right of the Hornet and answer the numerous questions we were sure would be coming (speed, altitude, rate of climb, take-off speed, range, armaments) when we noticed a little brown hair girl, about 6 or 7, clutching a small doll and gazing up very intensively at the aircraft, standing about 10 feet in front of it. She would look up at the bird, then at each of us in turn, back up at the aircraft, without saying a word. Eventually, we got curious as to her close scrutiny. Finally, her eyes rested on the wings on our flight suits and you could see a light coming on in her eyes! “You guys are angels!” she commented before running away to find her parents. We thought it was quite sweet, although rest assured, we’re no angels! I still think this was one of my most pleasant moment during any airshows I was part of!

I drive my ass to work… I drive my ass to Wal Mart…

I’ve always had a passion for aviation, but bad eyes kept me out of the driver’s seat when I was the right age for such things. I took private lessons several years later when I was a resident physician. Made it through ground school and about 10 hours in the air before two things happened: 1) Money ran out, 2) Inability to come to grips with the “Z” axis and its’ relationship the the “X” and “Y” axis when approaching a runway with a crosswind. Decided then and there that doctors, at least this one, really had no business flying airplanes.

Even though I am a puss when it comes to flying a plane by myself, I am still a fanatic. Being in the Army helped me get close to a lot of seriously cool hardware, including (***WARNING*** WET DREAM ALERT!) a dozen F22 Raptors parked overnight at Hickam! I also took rides on a C17 (loud and very, very cold) and a KC10. The Army has some cool toys, too. My son-in-law was an Abrams-driver for 2 tours in Iraq. Damn thing makes a really nice huntin’ truck! Played inside a couple of World’s Most Expensive Lawn Darts™ (Blackhawks) and put my paws on some AH64 Apaches, but…. the Army has NOTHING as cool as a F22 Raptor, or F35 Lightning II! :em95:

I once visited the area around AFFTC-D3 and the Nellis Test Range during a Red Flag 2 years ago. Most of the action was high that day, but I did have an F16 pass so close, and so low, I could easily see the pilot looking at me! He was going so fast that he flew by without a sound… for a second or two! Hmmm… I’ll wager you’ve seen that little airfield at Groom Lake!

Another treat from my personal collection. An F15 from Hickam AFB Hawaii. It performed solo aerobatics at Kaneohe before the Blue Angels did their show.

I always tell interested folks that some flight instructors just make it just too damn difficult to comprehend basics with their long, winded terms and so-called explanations… I’d like to think flight instruction could be simplified if instructors stopped playing “little know-it-all gods” to stroke their own egos… Keep the nose slightly elevated, fix on a point halfway on the runway, keep an eye on your glideslope and speed , keep the aircraft level as much as possible with the necessary corrections and just land as if there was no crosswind, there, simple as that to explain… X, Y, Z my butt, it confusing for nothing with terms that should stay in algebra manuals… (takes a bit of practice and some confidence building which comes with… more practice!).

But at least you are qualified to “fix” the pilot following the fuck-up of a missed landing in a crosswind… We used to call it “going into the Zone… the Fuckup Zone”. Not a nice place to be. It always meant somebody made an awful mistake… And I made of couple of doozies in my career (a quick example, doing a “low level” attack exercise, and coming back to base with maple and spruce branches stuck into the hard points…)

Once landed in a Cessna during hellacious crosswinds (i was the seat-crapping passenger). We came in with the pilot asking me to lean back so he could see the runway. Didn’t put me off flying, but did scare me something awful.

“You guys are angels!” she commented before running away to find her parents. We thought it was quite sweet, although rest assured, we’re no angels!

To that little girl and myself, you are. Maybe she didn’t need to know all about protecting and avenging angels, but you put yourself there for us. You’ve earned your wings.

These brilliant men crafted a brilliant document, the Constitution, under the assumption that Americans and their leaders would always place America first.

“God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. …
And what country can preserve its liberties, if it’s rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
    It is its natural manure.”
    -Thomas Jefferson

Major don’t diss yourself about flying. i remember the first time i had to land without a crosswind. i was all over the field on the first pass, then circled for about fifteen minutes before getting the nerve to try again. was flying a J-3 and had to open the door and hang my head out to see where the ground was.

I’m good! I have found that protecting the public from whatever airplane I would be crashing is far more rewarding than flying! :em01:

Yep, Tom had it right. Especially about the 2nd Amendment part. “Taking arms” as Jefferson suggests would be pretty damn hard to do under the liberal interpretation of “militia” (eg. National Guard, where armories are decidedly NOT open to citizens hell bent on correcting their government.

I don’t think this quote of Jefferson’s in any way negates my point. He suggests that Americans would always be involved enough in their government to make violent course corrections should their leaders forget who they were serving. This is most certainly a confirmation that the framers of the constitution trusted future generations to carry on their idealism. To do so requires an educated Citizen patriot with an understanding of the role and boundaries of Government, along with an honest assessment of the real intent behind the Constitution and each Amendment in the Bill of Rights. That is a far cry from what we have today and our government and society is a mess because of it. Spin this, spin that… I’ll wager that less than 50% of graduating high school seniors know what the Bill of Rights is. Hell, most of them can’t even find Iraq on a globe! Yet, I’ll bet that far more graduating seniors know about recycling, ozone hoes, glowbullshit warning, and who Paris Hilton is blowing… dating than they do about who the Vice-President is.

    Sad sad sad…
