His Majesty earlier alluded to how the appeaser hiding under the coffee table at 1600 Penn Ave has previously ignored acts of war committed by the Turbaned Tumblefucks of Tehran, and here, courtesy of LC kwongdzu, is another example:

According to a U.S. Army report out of Iraq obtained by U.S. News, American troops, acting as advisers for Iraqi border guards, were recently surrounded and attacked by a larger unit of Iranian soldiers, well within the border of Iraq.

The report highlights the details: A platoon of Iranian soldiers on the Iraqi side of the border fired rocket-propelled grenades and used small arms against a joint patrol of U.S. and Iraqi soldiers east of Balad Ruz. Four Iraqi Army soldiers, one interpreter, and one Iraqi border policeman remain unaccounted for after the September incident in eastern Diyala, 75 miles east of Baghdad.

September of 2006, we assume, since we haven’t quite reached September of ‘07 yet. Not that we’re saying that invading Iraq and opening fire on our soldiers didn’t have any consequences at all. Unnamed sources at Foggy Bottom inform us that, as a result, they refused to sign Ahmadinejad’s visa application with their customary “XOXOXO. Love, your admirers and eternal friends at the Dept. of State.”

And it’s not like it was all that serious, really:

It is possible that Iranians thought they were in Iranian territory, according to U.S. military officials. Such border confusions and disputes happen routinely.

Which, of course justifies invasions and use of military force perfectly. We’re amazed that the U.S. soldiers weren’t reprimanded for firing back, but maybe it was because it wasn’t the border between the U.S. and Mexico that the foreign invaders had violated.

As I posted in an earlier thread, when will this President grow a pair — after the mushroom cloud forms over which city here in the USA?

I don’t see him ever growing a pair, I gave up on him a while ago. I’m thinking the muzzards are making ready for something untoward like a Beslan in America. Meanwhile, it seems to be the Illegal immigrants are taking over the US and destroying wherever they pass, you’d think the libtards would clean up after their “guests”

BTW I have found an ebook copy of a book I’ve been looking for for a long time, y’all go grab a copy of it.

I’m actually looking forward to ‘08, even if the new president IS a democrat.
There is NO WAY any president could have less of a spine than Bush. Bill Clinton, for fuck sake, had more guts than this pathetic coward. I can’t believe I supported Bush in ‘04.
I’m almost in agreement with the “troops home now” crowd - in that at least they’ve decided one way or another. Bush’s passive/aggressive invasion is policy-driven slaughter of America’s finest.
I despise muslims, don’t get me wrong - but they have something we can learn from: Clarity of Intent. They know what they want. We are capable of so much if only we could decide to do what we do.

    ACLPoo,

Bush has always run as the “get along/new tone” president. I was actually surprised when he took on the UN and Saddam. It is one of the ironies of our time that Bush is so hated. He doesn’t veto anything, he partners with Kennedy, et. al. on socialist policy initiatives, he refuses to stick up for himself or his conservative policies (where they do exist), basically he is the ideal Republican from a Democrat perspective. In fact, if he had a (D) after his name, I think he would be loved and admired (at least on the other side of the aisle, I don’t think Conservatives would love or hate him any more than they do now).

But he is consistent. Consistently a moderate, get-along kind of a guy.

Fred Thompson won’t be like that come the next presidency.

    Too true.

The problem is, the only “new tone” I hear from watching his passive-aggressive NON-fighting of a war is the howl of air raid sirens, and I never did learn to love that sound.

A pox on that appeasing asshole.

Every day at noon the siren at the fire station two blocks away goes off, easily audible a mile or so away. The thought of air raid sirens gave me pause. Those my age are old enough to remember the drills as kids…….. Somehow the thought of having it mean something besides a loud noise making dogs howl distressing. Yet here in Dog Patch we all know each other, or of each other. Strangers would find themselves in difficulty, if not vouched for by a local. In truth I would be more concerned with the wannabes out there. Dumbass kids thinking they are John Wayne. Sirens…..I never liked that sound either…….

Just put their butts in jail like they did with the border guards (who knows, they may live until they get out). How dare they try to protect what’s right??!! We have to treat all forms of terrorism with kid gloves ya know.

I live/work on an Army post and every Wednesday they have an alert test. I keep listening for the ‘this is not a test’ or if the alert goes off other that that time on Wednesday. I am old enough to remember the drills.

    Tell me about it.

Growing up overseas back when the Cold War was still very much in progress, the scare didn’t really end until Yeltsin managed to beat down the coup attempt, I remember those damn sirens every bloody Wednesday at noon. Add to that the fact that concrete public shelters dotted the landscape and our grandparents’ generation telling us about hiding under desks and in cellars during WWII, and the sound of those infernal things got a very special meaning.

I remember hearing them go off for their weekly test, listening to the pitch rising and then falling again and then, as the sound almost died out, wondering if the pitch would go up again THIS time.

Not that I was living in constant terror of them, but every week I’d involuntarily pause in whatever I was doing for a few seconds and listen very intently. It became so much of an ingrained habit that I didn’t even think about it (well, except for ONE time when I’d fallen asleep with the TV on and I woke up in a panic because a war movie had come on).

And I do it even to this day, over here, where I know good and well that they’re unlikely to ever go off except to warn us of severe weather. Sound goes up, sound goes down… I pause…

    I hate that sound.

No…We’ve got GPS (and so do the damn iranis), anyone can know where they are on the face of the earth to within 3 feet. My cell phone is capable of doing this, so you’d think that before attacking someone you claim is inside your border, you’d make really sure…unless you were trying to provoke something. :ponder_tb:

We’ll fight back sooner or later … scratch later.

We’ll end up waiting until we have no choice to fight back, putting off the inevitiable instead of dealing with it now when we could do so to our advantage.

We’ll wait till a sufficient number of troops are killed in one “incident”, then we’ll launch some missiles at some inner city “strategic” targets move some boats around and declare that we’ve “stemmed=ed the tide”.

    Then we start over.

From 9/11 I think I’ve learned, nothing going to happen if the death toll is under 2,000. And even then it may be a a toss up.

    Note to President Bush:
    DO SOMETHING, G*DDAMMIT.
No wonder the Islamic world thinks that we are a bunch of effeminate cowards-we have a so-called “hawk” who does nothing in the face of an act of war by a sworn enemy. I’m going to put some blame on the backstabbing Dhimmicraps and the leftist media for their ceaseless negative reporting on Iraq; President Shrimpya no longer has the balls to do what needs to be done.
