A student i Maine has been suspended with threats of further disciplinary action because of a “hate crime.”

What was this grievous crime, I hear you ask? Did he beat up a bunch of Muslim girls? Did he behead a 2nd grader and publish the video on YouTube? Did he burn down an embassy?

No, he put a ham steak in an inappropriate place.

OK, I’ve had enough.

I don’t mean any malice towards the many Muslims in our nation, but this thought police crap has to stop, so how can we counter it without causing any harm to innocents?

Civil disobedience, that’s how. If the Orwellian thought police want to classify any inconsiderate and rude act towards one specific group of people (not Christians, you can submerge their holy symbols in goat shit if you like, they’re not an Officially Protected Minority™, nor would I, as a Christian, ever want to be one. I can take care of myself fine, and my faith is not in the least bit threatened by the insults of morons, thank you very much) as a “hate crime”, then the only solution is to give them more to deal with than they can possibly handle.

Obviously, differentiating between insult and actual injury is too much for our elected officials to handle, bless their tiny retarded brains, so civil disobedience seems to be the only way of getting through to them.

So let’s be insulting. Let’s protest this infringement against our rights to be rude by being as non-violently, peacefully rude as we possibly can be. Let the addle-brained imbecilic “authorities” drown in complaints of “hate crimes” until even their microscopic, tax payer-funded brains get the point (which might take some doing, knowing that most of them are slightly less intelligent than steamed broccoli), let’s go out of our way to commit non-violent, peaceful “hate crimes” to the point where even the friends of Hamas, CAIR, can’t keep up anymore.

Never harm, never injure, never vandalize and never as much as think about bringing actual injury to people with whom we really have no quarrel. None of that. It should never be tolerated, and I won’t tolerate it myself. But if our very own authorities, authorities that claim to operate on the basis of our sacred Constitution, insist on violating our rights by calling something that isn’t a crime a crime, then let’s make them busy.

Let’s inundate them in paperwork, let’s drive them crazy trying to outlaw thought and opinion. Let’s be as offensive as we possibly can be without crossing the line between peaceful protest and actual criminal behavior.

I’ve had it.

No more.

So, are we to understand that the ham was in a bag, and that one of the Somali kids reached over, grabbed the bag which did not belong to him, opened said bag that did not belong to him, and pulled out a piece of food that did not belong to him, and that the kid whose bag was groped and whose food was touched is guilty?

    Because that’s what I gather.

So, are we going after the farm where the pig was grown, the market that sold said ham to a minor, without even a background check?

Time to ramp up the non-illegal Political Incorrectness.

Did the child actually strike anyone with the offending ham steak? I recall a murder mystery about a woman who killed her husband with a frozen leg of lamb and then served it up to the detectives investigating the crime, thereby getting rid of the evidence. Waste not, want not.

  8. itbachalyahud Comment by itbachalyahud

Agreed, not a crime, and shouldn’t be punished as such.

However, the act was indecent and impolite, and a reprimand is in order. Schools should convey lessons on how to be Citizens, and furthermore, “offensive” behavior directed at specific individuals, although not rising to the level of physical harm, nonetheless bears no relevance to the mission of the schools and in fact can serve to thwart it.

There’s no legitimate educational message that can be attributed to the accused student’s act of placing a forbidden food substance in the vicinity of the Muslim student’s lunch.

The accused student’s act should be punished as would any disruptive behavior, albeit not through “sensitivity training” except in the most general sense, i.e., that one should always behave decently towards others that have done you no specific harm. Alternatively, the school should report the student’s behavior to the student’s parents. If the parents are halfway decent, they’ll punish the brat.

I say don’t confuse this issue with general First Amendment principles (which are, and should be, much more expansive beyond school grounds), except to the extent that the kid is subjected to disproportionate punishment as compared with any other form of harassment of a fellow student.

  9. kwongdzu Comment by kwongdzu

Not a crime. It is unclear as to whether this student simply brought a ham sandwich and sat down to eat it, or if he was trying to provoke the muslims by tossing a slab of pork in their midst. No good reason to cause an altercation in the middle of school, so that should be frowned on. However, if he was eating his lunch and the mussies were offended, they should suck it up and shut up. Sorry to the guy I plagiarized this off of, but he pretty much summed it up:

And now, a grand jury will actually indict a ham sandwich.

Look, I’m a Mormon, and I’m forbidden from drinking coffee and tea. Do I freak out because of the proliferation of coffee makers at work? Do I wig out because there is ice tea in the vending machines? (Though I’ll admit I was grossed out by what looked like a large urine sample on someone’s desk — turned out to be iced green tea.)

Cripes, if someone spills coffee on me I might be peeved because of the stain, but I’m not going to act like I’ve been made ritually unclean or that God will send me to hell if I die by a tea-drenched bullet.

Their behavior is downright superstitious, not religious. They need to get a grip.

Does this new-found porkophobia on the part of the islamic world mean that there will never be another muslim found setting foot in the Chicago city limits? After all, I believe there was a period on out nation’s history when it was considered the “Hog Butcher of the World” or something similar.

I’d like some more details on this “hate crime”. Was the student sitting doen to consume said pork? Did he just fling it into their midst and laugh? Did the somalis feel fortunate that they had a school to be offended in, and a country to reside in that has a sense of order and safety unlike their homeland?
Will the muslims in our midst ever man up and realize that they are a freaking minority and do not have the right to dictate to the rest of us how we are going to live?

During my recent trip to Disneyland, I had the distinct displeasure of walking out of the Tomorrow land exhibit to find a group of muslims completing their prayers and getting up off of the ground. It took all of my will power to NOT suggest aloud that they might consider praying someplace out of the way where the rest of us might not be offended by their prostrate forms in our path. Because I couldn’t see if any of them were wearing explosive belts, and I had the Mrs. and kids with me, I simply sighed, waited for them to get out of my way, and moved on.

I agree kwongdzu, but I did experience the same sort of thing with Mormons (except they didn’t call the police)…

My kids attended a charter school until 5th grade. My son was going on a week-long field trip and we were in a parent meeting about the trip. The teacher asked that parents going on the trip to refrain from drinking coffee in front of others so as not to offend our Mormon classmates and parents. Remember, charter schools are PUBLIC schools. I just about spewed the water I was drinking across the room.

That, combined with a director who recruited faculty members from his Mormon church, the kids who weren’t allowed to play with my kids because they weren’t Mormon, the PE teacher who had “Brother XXX” helping at field day, and the teacher who constantly harrassed my daughter about the length of her shorts when she was struggling with math (no, I don’t let my daughter dress like a tramp), convinced me that the school was no longer the right choice for my kids. And no, this is Colorado, not Utah. I know plenty of wonderful Mormons, but this particular group was out of line.

Charter schools can be wonderful places, but it all depends on the integrity of the group of parents running the place.

The only other similar experience I’ve had is the boy in band in high school who wasn’t allowed to be in jazz band with us because he was Southern Baptist and they weren’t allowed to dance. But, his parents didn’t demand that the school get rid of the jazz band either.

If I had a kid in that school, I’d arrange for ham sandwich day and make sure every kid who was willing had a sandwich for lunch. They would also be given free T-shirts with a large “Pigs will Fly” picture on them.

  15. hitnrun Comment by hitnrun

If I attended that school, slices of imported ham would be mysteriously appearing in desks, stalls, urinals, and on doorhandles.

Religion is NOT an option for the U.S. government.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…”

What is so hard to understand about that? Why do liberals get so freaked out at principals and superintendants who call Christmas “Christmas” and courthouses that have artistic depictions of Moses and the Ten Commandments? These have no legal weight whatsoever. They don’t require anyone to actually do anything.

Meanwhile, muslims actually establish their actual religion in an actual school, and no one bats an eye. Just like with gay marriage, diplomacy, foreign policy, government spending and global warming, liberals could care less about results; their only concern is validation for their pet causes.

As for what to do about it, we need to start putting Korans in jars of urine and utilizing His Majesty’s exemplary MSPaint skills to rile up the Religion of Peace. Yes, it’s juvenile, but that’s exactly the point- the cultured, ancient civilization will not dissapoint with their homicidal threats, no matter how trifling the offense.

I am a member of the Orthodox Church, and for us, like many other Christians, wine is a special beverage. Wine is what Our Saviour chose to become His Own Blood, which He sacrificed for us. Wine is an essential part of the Communion sacrament. So anyone who disses wine, insults me and my Faith intolerably.

On the other hand, I consider the act of fornicating an underage goat an impure and unpardonable act.

I think I shall go drink some wine right now. And let the muslims sip goat piss.

This is how the takeover is to happen. Not a Red Dawn-esque invasion that can be fought openly, but a slow infection.

They don’t have to fight, they just have to make it illegal for us to fight. Then, they can rule in all but name, and anyone who tries to do something finds himself grabbed by the law.

Shoot a rapist? Jail. Speak against Jihad? Kiss every cent you have good-bye. Look a Muslime in the eye? Hate crime. Write about muslim atrocity? You better be fleet of foot, and your government with just tell you that you asked for it. (I fully expect Charles Johnson to come under threat of death within 5 years)

Every murderous regime throughout history knows that you don’t have to kill your way to power; you can just grind down the enemy and make him bleed himself dry with both monetary and spiritual Danegeld.

That’s the strategy. There is no observant muslim that isn’t part of it.

If we were being serious, not only would the incident linked above never happen, the ones who tried it would themselves face retaliation.

If we were being serious, CAIR (subject of many a righteous Misha rant) would be under constant investigation as a terrorist organization, or at least a RICO violator.

If we were being serious, Sami Al-Arian and Suleyman al-Faris (John Walker Lindh) would be dead!

Churchill said that America could be counted on to do the right thing, after trying everything else.

    1) Hopefully, that’s still true; and 2) Do we have time for the American learning curve before something horrible happens?

Read on in the story. Now maybe the reporter is trying to get MSM points by only getting the Muslim side of the story, but it sure sounded like the kid put the thing on the table in an effort to shit on the Muslim students. I mean, I think this clean/unclean crap is a bit overboard, but the end of the story seems to indicate the kid intended malice.

It all depends on the whole story IMO. If this kid was trying to incite a shitstorm as the story claims, then by all means I think he got his just desserts. But I also know that a small group of kids can lie, because it happened to my wife as a substitute teacher.

Yeah, right. The Brits have had problems with muslim visitors to hospitals because they refuse to use the hand sanitizer gel (it contains alcohol). So, instead of saying, “Use it, or stay out!” what do they do? They fall all over themselves trying to find hand sanitizers that don’t contain alcohol. I’m still not sure why soap and water don’t cut it, though.

To belabor my point from the FIRST!! comment, the bag was closed, and placed on a table. The table was occupied by no less than FIVE Somali kids who felt they were fitting in. Five at one table, apparently by themselves. Fitting in nicely.

So, a closed bag on your table. Your bag? No. Do you reach over and take said bag and open it? I don’t, IT ISN’T MY BAG.(baby) But the “victim” did. Do you, having opened a bag NOT YOUR OWN, reach in and take out whatever is in there? I wouldn’t, because while I’m curious, IT AIN’T MY STUFF. But the “victim” did.

So why, if some kid just places a bag on a table, does he become guilty of anything, if the “victim” did 90% of the “crime”, and that 90% was the only part of the incident that was truly, technically, actually illegal?

Can any Muslim mugger then claim victim status if the mark he’s rolling happens to have a ham sandwich in his pocket? You get mugged and charged with a hate crime because your mugger takes offense at your swag!

There’s an incident here, but it has targeted the wrong person. Charge the kid who rummaged through the bag he swiped.

One last thing … with which hand did the Somali kid reach into the bag?

Oh, and something I think I failed to clarify re: whether it is appropriate to discipline the bag thrower at ALL.

First: There is a distinct possibility, there ALWAYS is where schoolchildren are concerned, that this was just the latest incident in an on-going feud. The article doesn’t mention this, but that doesn’t mean squat. Kids get into shit like that all the time and, besides, if there WERE two sides to this story, the MSM would never dare report it. It would be the same as suggesting that an Officially Protected Minority™ might possibly have done something wrong too, and we all know that would be a blatant violation of journaljizzmic “ethics.” Minorities Can Do No Wrong™.

In that case, the appropriate action would be to detain the whole sorry lot of them and have a sit-down, explaining carefully to them that they’d better cut the crap and settle their differences or, if they wouldn’t, to take their petty squabbles off of school property.

Assuming that the “Bag Attack™” was completely unprovoked, the bag man should be detained for a few hours on account of being an offensive, provocative little prick.

That ought to cover all bases, and that’s ALL that should’ve been done.

Calling in the cops and starting a “hate crime” investigation is just utter bull crap. Would the school start a “hate crime” investigation if the Somali kids had called the white kid’s mother an “infidel whore?” If you believe that they would, I’ve got some mighty fine ocean front property in the Gobi desert to sell you. And nor SHOULD they.

First off, “hate crime” is a ridiculous and offensive concept. Either it’s a crime or it isn’t and, last I checked, kids being kids wasn’t one. And even if it WERE a crime to place lunch-meat in the vicinity of muslims, it STILL wouldn’t be a “hate” crime. What, pray tell, is a “love crime?”

Crime is crime is crime is crime. If somebody kills somebody, it doesn’t, or SHOULDN’T make a lick of difference whether the victim was muslim, Christian, atheist, straight, gay, male, female, young, old, black, white, yellow, brown or fucking PURPLE. The victim’s dead, and that’s called “murder”, no matter who or what the fuck he or she was.

And I repeat: If authorities insist on wasting resources creating two or more different classes of citizens with different rights and calling every perceived insult to a Protected Minority™ a “crime”, then let’s give them something to fucking work with. Let’s clog the system. Let’s flood the Nanny Statist fuckheads with complaints until they’re on their knees begging us to stop. Non-violently, of course, this isn’t about hurting the innocent, this is about giving the imbecilic authorities more of their dumbass medicine than they can POSSIBLY enjoy.

Dammit, Boss! You say offensive, provocative prick like it is a bad thing! Even if completely unprovoked, I applaud the kid’s creativity, and I think it is high time we started pushing these thought police back. Last I looked, the stars and stripes still fly from the pole across the street, and freedom of expression meant just that. Its too bad the kid doesn’t live here. I would take his case for free and fight as long as necessary to get the correct result.

I was reading a local legal newsletter and discovered that King County (d) (Washingtonistan) now provides family law forms in SPANISH, which it claims will reduce the costs of having translators help fill out the forms. In pre-bizarro world, the expectation would be that if you came to the overcrowded and over-taxed court system for relief, you would (a) do so speaking the linguistic coin of the realm: English, and (b) that you would be a citizen or resident alien which would mean that you have a right to seek redress there. Now, we provide forms in other languages, assistance in filling them out, and I’m sure, being King County, you aren’t even allowed to ask if someone is a citizen.

I have had it with being treated as if I have to a stranger in my country of birth, and hypersensitive to immigrant hypersensitivity, in such a fashion that fosters a continuing separation of these people from our society rather than an assimilation. Let me know when the rumble begins. Count me in.

It is coming… The Muslims will try to take us over from within, first they will build up their numbers (already done) and then they will start pressuring schools and employers for Muslim holidays and wearing of religious garb (already done). Meanwhile a person wearing a one inch cross will be told to wear it inside their shirt or face censure. Then the Muslims will start pressuring for special rights such as prayer rooms or halal food at PUBLIC schools and workplaces. More and more will be demanded, it is like the old story about the frog in a pan, if you heat the water slowly the frog will boil without ever knowing what happened.

Did anyone go the newspaper link and read the entire story? The kid who threw the ham was an asshat and should be punished. If it were my kid, he wouldn’t be able to sit for a week.

A 14-year-old Somali boy, whose mother asked that his name not be published, said he was eating lunch with four other Somali students on April 11. He noticed many others in the cafeteria “standing up, looking at us.”
One boy came near, began laughing and threw a bag on the table while other students laughed and said, ‘Good job.’”
“We didn’t know what was in this bag,” the boy said. “One of my friends reached inside it. It was a big ham steak. There were five of us at the table, all Somali. It was intended for us.”

If this is an accurate portrayal of the incident, that boy did something malicious with the intent of causing distress.

I’m really disappointed. There are plenty of incidents deserving our derision (the flying Imans, etc.), but not this. No one should be defending or excusing this kid (if the incident in the paper is being portrayed accurately).

I’m not, because it certainly looks to me like he was a rude little prick well deserving of a paddling.

What I’m against is the ridiculous notion that he somehow committed a “crime.” In fact, a *cue SCARY music* “HATE crime.”

Police reports, suspension, charges? For a juvenile prank? Gimme a break. Had he been my kid, he most certainly would’ve been disciplined and I wouldn’t have had a problem with him getting a dose of detention either.

AND it’s not only ridiculous, it’s also a violation of the principle of being “equal before the law.”

If THIS is the new asshatted standard for what constitutes a “crime”, then I DEMAND that anybody insulting my religion by having a “Darwin fish” on his or her car be arrested and charged IMMEDIATELY. Oh, and the twits soaking crosses in urine and making Madonnas out of elephant dung need to be slapped in irons as well. RIGHT FUCKING NOW!

Oh, and while we’re at it, any fast food restaurant combining meat with dairy (cheeseburger, anyone?) needs to be shut down with an injunction and put under investigation for perpetrating hate crimes against Judaism.

    See how ridiculous that is?

No one is mixing dairy and meat to offend Jewish people (to my knowledge). No one has a “Darwin Fish” on their car with the deliberate intention of ofending you. This kid meant to cause distress.

I’ll give you the urine-soaked cross.

    Agreed.

No one has a “Darwin Fish” on their car with the deliberate intention of ofending you.

    Debatable.

I’ll give you the urine-soaked cross.

If we’re talking crimes, I won’t give me that one myself. Because it isn’t one. It’s offensive, rude, inconsiderate and boorish, just like throwing a ham steak on a table with muslims sitting around is, but it. is. not. a. crime.

I’m not saying the kid wasn’t a boor, because he was. I’m not saying that the muslim kids were wrong to be offended, because they weren’t.

I’m saying that being offensive isn’t a crime.

And if we let it become one, the Thought Police won’t be very far off.
