LC & IB Alphecca reports on Tennessee moving to allow CCW holders to carry in public parks. The measure was introduced prior to Gun Control claiming 32 victims in Virginia, but the atrocity certainly seems to have encouraged lawmakers to speed up the Bill’s progress.

One bit that stood out (but do read the whole thing) was this little tidbit:

Incidentally, it’s interesting that while the Tennessee police union seems to support the measure (that would be actual rank-and-file cops on the street), the state Association of Police Chiefs (desk jockeys) does not.

To a lot of us, this comes as no surprise at all, but it bears repeating nonetheless, because of the News-midiots’ preference for the aforementioned desk jockeys when it comes to interviews.

Remember, when you read another one of those “Police Objects to Relaxation of Gun Control Laws” articles that the MSM love to run every time another psycho murders some defenseless victim, that it’s not, as a rule, the rank and file, friendly, underpaid, neighborhood-patrolling cop worrying about law-abiding citizens defending themselves, it’s the pencil-pushing suits that do.

I’m sure there are exceptions out there, but no actual cop I’ve ever known had a problem with Mr and Mrs Law-Abiding Citizen defending themselves. Not only because it helps them keep society free of vermin, but also because no real cop, the kind who actually works for his or her money, likes entering a crime scene full of brutally murdered, maimed and raped innocents after the goblin got away.

They much prefer it the other way around.

hey there - FIRST again - and still it’s got nothing to do with the Tennessee-case.Now we got another little political party in DK - called New Alliance with - guess Naser Khader in front - ain’t that funny in this small country - stupid I would say - but let’s just wait and see - maybe they’ll come up with something new - but I don’t really think so. :Idontknow_wp:

Thank You Sire, I’ve often fielded this question myself in the other life. I always point out, the brass suits are entirely motivated by polishing their resumes for the next shiny collar-device and therefore extremely good at regurgitating policy and agenda of the higher-brass and politicians. Virtually every anti-private ownership statement coming from “police” in fact is just the civilian/political ass-lickers.

Unforunately they also put a link on the papers website where you can go and look up the name and address of every CCW permit holder in Tennessee. Know the bad guy’s knopw where to go and steal your guns when your at work and unable to defend the keep! Typical lefty regard for right to privacy!!!

How’s about a National CCW permit? Many of use legal, law-abiding citizens are forced to act as criminals by carrying when certain social conditions warrant it for Life/Limb threatening circumstances. And even then the hesitation to use due simply to our law-adibing consciences may cost us our lives. I realize I may sound like a gun-nut, which I’m not (I don’t fantasize about shooting another human, ever!). But does not the Second Ammendment make it our duty to try and protect others/ourselves? I find this castrated nation becoming much more dangerous than a well armed society.

How’s about a Nation-wide CCW permit? After all as legal (Born American!) citizens, is it not our duty under the Second Ammendment to try and protect our fellow-man/selves? The protection from abuse being that the above carriers consent to extreme prosecution for misuse. I realize this is a reactive insurance, but since when do proactive gunlaws work? PERIOD?
The LIbErals would have us believe that one can legislate morality. Right, and anyone that believes this sillyness has no reason to be in any position of authority. The longer it takes to re-establish these basic rights, the more that innocents will perish needlessly!

Police chiefs work for mayors. With one exception, in every major city where I’ve lived the mayor was a progressive.

With the goblin brutally murdered, maimed, and raped (hopefully not in that order :eek_wp: ) after the innocents safeguard themselves and their home. I know. So do I.

I missed the part where it names the CC holders here in TN.. and Im one of them.

Sadly, many work places are “gun free zones.. of death” as well.. so this is only a half-measure, IMO.

There is a better solution to this.

    Mandatory open carry.

If you want to carry concealed, or not carry, get a permit.
