The Tennessean decides to go where only Idiotarians with a totalitarian streak dare to tread by imitating the Roanoke Times’ Christian Trejbal(lless):

The Tennessean newspaper here in Nashville has gone off and done a not-so-smart thing. They’ve published an online database that gives anyone the easy ability to search for handgun carry permit holders across the entire state of Tennessee.

I first got wind of this from SayUncle. Further posts from VolunteerVoters and BloggerBlaster.

The Tennessean has decided to publish this list in conjunction with an article about a bill before the legislature that would allow law-abiding handgun carry permit holders to carry in state parks (a bill that I fully support). However, no reason is given by the Tennessean to publish this particular list.

They don’t need one. You see, they’re Leftard Guardians of the Troof™, and they alone know best what’s the public Needs to Know™, so shut up, you plebeian. It seems like some of us plebeians managed to convince the Tennessean of the error of their totalitarian, privacy-invading ways, however, since the database appears to be gone.

But they made their point. Blue in the face and banging their sippy cups against the tables of their high chairs as a result of the Tennessee legislature acting in ways that didn’t fit their Idiotarian, Progressive Agenda, they showed all of those Evil, Law-Abiding, Licensed Gun Owners that they can intimidate, endanger and harass them with impunity because They’re the Press, and They CARE!™

St. Andrew of the Gob-Smacking Heartache, true to his agenda (which is that nobody’s privacy matters unless he happens to agree with them), asks the idiotic question:

“If gun rights are civil rights, why would anyone feel the need to hide the fact that they own one?”

LC & IB Gerard Vanderleun asks Andrew of the Hyperventilating Hysterics:

“If being gay is a civil right why would anyone feel the need keep private the fact that they are one?”

See how that works, Andy? Let’s get those Gay Databases online, shall we?

What? You don’t think so? Strange.

Fuckwad.

The limp-wristed St. Andrew of the Vapors(tm) gets paid to post a single, not very thoughtful question on this matter and he is a published columnist?

I think we have a new candidate for the title “Overpaid, Illiterate Hack”. Who will tell D.S. of the B.S. that she has been dethroned?

    But…but…

NO ONE would ever think of harrassing gun owners! It’s just a way for people to know who to be wary of when they go out in public!!!

    /moonbat off

What would they say if someone decided to publish the names and addresses of radical Liberals?

It gets worse, my friend. The Atlantic hired that one-issue clown and made him senior editor while firing Mark Steyn.

And to think that I once considered that rag worth reading…

The home adresses, numbers and complete personals of all involved with the publication of the list should be webbed up big and clear, just so we know where to send the, ahh, thank you cards.

Homeowner’s insurance rates of those on the list should be adjusted down a few notches in view of the steps they’ve taken to enhance their security.

If somebody can get the contact info for these bozos, post it here and the rest of us can carry it far and wide.

After all, expressing their viewpoint is a civil right, right? So they won’t mind their addresses and phone numbers being broadcast to the web. We know it because they have published others.

So spread it far and wide. We already know they think (and I use that term loosely) it’s OK. They’ve implied consent.

What kills me is how the papers don’t publish pedophiles so readily. What about the people who don’t have internet to readily look it up? Seriously, if they want to do a public service, you would think that would be one considering judges allow these assholes off with light sentences. Or how about publishing addy’s of criminals who got off on light sentences. I sure would like to know that type of information. But noooooooooooooo.

They are too busy hiding the fucking description (Islamist, illegal alien, Democrat, etc) whenever reporting something fucked up. It’s better to pick on law abiding citizens or highlight asshats who claim to be Christian or fuck with Republicans.

Fuckwad doesn’t come anywhere NEAR describing these bastard scum. Everyone around here knows I have a permit and am armed at all times. I like it that way, it keeps the fools away.

However, I can see where one wouldn’t want his name plastered all over the papers just for owning a handgun. Worthless asses who throw around data that doesn’t concern them in the least really need to get some business, because this is not their’s.

So a bunch of screaming liberals still “emoting heavily from VT’S Massacare” Publish the names and addresses of known weapons holders…

I’m confused …wouldn’t doing so only give those that WANT to use guns for other then leagal means a more readily availiable place to find them?

Screw the black market …Just break into law abding John Q Publics home when he isn’t there and help yourself…chances are if he’s a CCW holder he has more then one weapon, after all it’s the CCW that actually ..well you know obey the laws, and have faithfuilly complied, and generally will purchase more than a single weapon. It’s that whole “gun nut” thing dontcha know.

You asshats don’t you see you’ve just compounded the “gun problem in America”.

Haven’t got my TN CCW permit just yet, havent had the time in the US to do so ..but Ya know …maybe I wont. No sense in giving some jackle MORE of a reason to come calling…fuckers!!

This also happened in South Dakota.

The Legislooture passed, and the Gov. signed a law that exempted the list of carry permit holders from the state’s open records law. It goes into effect July 1.

The Sioux Falls Airgas Argus Loser Liar Leader in its infinite wisdom sent a reporter up to Pierre (the state capital) and copied the list, and then posted it on their web site.

Hey, how’s THAT for a target - any libertarian hackers out there? Of course I wouldn’t DREAM of advocating anything illegal…would I?

Guess it’s time for the rest of us to go concealed carry….. In Kalifornia very difficult, to say the least. But I do know this…if my best buddy showed up at my door needing a gun, he would have his choice, plus some ammo…….besides, he’s a better shot with a rifle than I am…. :guns_tb:
