The New Duranty Times certainly seem to be milking that angle for all that it’s worth in this story about the rampaging Islamic Jerkoffs of Jersey. (Link thanks to LC readerjp).

Now, I don’t want a sermon on the value of rules against entrapment, and yes, it does look to me like they’ll skate thanks to them, at least if the story is true.

What I want is an intelligent answer to this question: “Is it right for somebody willing to commit an act of terrorism to walk, simply because somebody goaded him into it?”

I may be terribly old-fashioned here, but it seems to me that the response of a decent human being to an offer of murdering innocents ought to be “fuck off, you psychopath moron, and say hi to the Feds when they come calling, because I’ll be calling them about your sorry ass.”

Or is an opportunity to commit mass murder simply so irresistible that one can be excused for grabbing it?

Am I completely unreasonable in thinking that somebody who’d happily agree to committing a crime at somebody else’s urging is just as guilty as somebody who’d actually carried it out? Is it unfair for me to suggest that maybe there’s something fundamentally wrong with people who’d go along with something as sick as that, “entrapment” or no “entrapment?”

Based on the laws of our nation, it would seem that I am.

I guess I’ll just have to lower my standards.

Okay, instead of lining them up against the nearest wall and shooting them, I say we give them the benefit of the doubt.

We’re doomed. Rather, our kids and grandkids are, because the muzzies are going to eventually win.

I just hope someone records the looks on the libtards faces when they’re the first to be executed under Shar’ia law.

I guess my parents (and I) are old-fashioned. My whole family was brought on the premise that it doesn’t MATTER what anyone else tells you to do. YOU are accountable for your OWN actions.

    We’ve all lived by that.

I don’t think these poor poor pitiful roofers are gonna skate. There is a long history of guys with a much stronger entrapment argument getting convicted than these toads. See the Albany pizza kings. That doesn’t stop the fuckwad Times from printing an equal size article above the fold about how eminently “questionable” such tactics are. Because they seem to be working, ya’ know, and the Times just can’t possibly have that. I hate them so much

I agree with BisW, IAP. It isn’t entrapment. The test is whether or not law enforcement or their agent induced these mutts to commit a crime that they otherwise wouldn’t. “Inducement” means that the actor(s) did not contemplate and would not otherwise have engaged in the proscribed conduct. Merely affording the actor(s)an opportunity to commit an offense does not constitute entrapment. It sounds like they were well on their way before the informant penetrated their little cabal. They never renounced their goal of killing Americans; they only balked at buying RPG’s and other “heavy” weaponry, probably because the expense mentioned scared them off.

So the FBI “entrapped” the Fort Dix Six, huh? Funny, I don’t recall the New York Times ever complaining about the unquestioned entrapment (if not framing) of Randy Weaver on federal firearms charges. Unlike the Fort Dix Six, Weaver wasn’t even involved in any sort of criminal conspiracy.

And, so far at least, the FBI hasn’t blown away any wives, offspring or family pets of the Fort Dix Six, either…

There were a few things that struck me about these articles.

    1. How are our intelligence agencies supposed to infiltrate cells without people like this? Does The Times think that terrorists would accept some lily-white boy scout?

2.Did you notice there was no mention of the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS? Just the good “family guys.”

    3. If you read the articles closely, you’ll see that the terrorists (excuse me, the good family men) showed the informer the videotape TWO MONTHS AFTER IT WAS MADE, which means they made it before him, and that indeed was the way the agencies were tipped off.

    4.

And when efforts to finally get the more potent weapons seemed close to producing results, the informer presented a list of possible arms that could now be bought. The list included fully automatic machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. But it was the men who scaled back their ambitions.

JUST MACHINE GUNS? Like they were just kidding, and only the informant’s list made it serious? It just wouldn’t have gone that far without that evil informant egging them on.

    5. And if that same EVIL INFORMANT hadn’t nagged the pizza guy for the map, NOTHING would have happened.

    6. I’m sure you noticed the pictures of the poor hijabed sisters keening. And blaming the neighbors “They hate us.”

My brother lives in Cherry Hill, and I can tell you a few things about it.

It’s a very affluent community, and if they could buy a house there, they had plenty of money. So they should quit the poor, hard-working, work 24-hours a day immigrant shtick.

The other thing about Cherry Hill is that it has a VERY LARGE Jewish community. Of all the place they could live, they picked a heavily Jewish community. Coincidence? I think not.

Finally, The NY Times is ALWAYS trying to whitewash terrorists. I remember back in the summer of 2002 or 2003, the Times ran a story about this group of terrorists from Buffalo. This was not just a little story - it was the front page and then TWO FULL PAGES.

That’s a tremendous amount of coverage.

It was about how these poor men — boys really — were lured to Afghanistan and had NO IDEA they were going to terrorist training camps, and then they were abandoned there and had to make their way back to the U.S.

    I HATE THE NY TIMES.

No, this is not entrapment. Its enticement, and it is perfectly legal to do in sting operations. Suggesting to a terrorist that one target looks juicier than another to entice that person to commit a crime is no different that making a MySpace page with a hot underage chick on it to entice a sex offender to pick up an undercover officer.

Calling it entrapment is a classic liberal ploy.

The supreme court has already affirmed that enticement is a valid method of a sting operation.

And THIS, boys and girls, is why the libtards want to take away the firearms of the conservative side. Gun control allows the enemy to win, and they simply don’t believe other than if the enemy wins THEY will be safe because THEY helped. WE need to keep our weapons so that we can fight the enemy, and they just can’t have that. I believe that we should be able to claim justifiable homicide if we execute the enemy “soldiers” due to the fact that they are terrorists, and we were merely protecting the nation.

It just sounded extremely sarcastic. It read like a “betcha them bubbas don’t even see it”. Maybe I’m just sensitive on subjects such as this. I’m fairly touchy because, aside from retired military, I’m now a contract security guard at an AF base. This is exactly the thing I personally try to keep my peers on edge about. Anybody gets sloppy, may be me dying. So I am on the edge.
