Our very own LC Brian the Sailor ponders the concept of “acceptable losses”, and we won’t spoil it by letting you know his answer.

We will let you know that it’s our answer too, however.

Very well put. Those who aren’t willing to stand up for freedom and die if necessary should just STFD and STFU.
If they aren’t willing to do what is needed to keep this country strong and free, then they have no business calling themselves Americans IMHO.
    Oh, and first I think.

For one to learn of, or know the value of that precious document, the Constitution…just have to fight for your freedom to live as you choose. Our city manager, once fired in front of us at a council meeting by a corrupt council for refusing to fire our police chief……..we fought. I fought with my pen, writing for our new mayors campaign and numerous columns in the paper. I focused on and drilled home the message of that document, the fail safes inherent to the same, and How I personally viewed it as sacred, second only to scripture itself. And we won…actually we stomped the shit out of the former council. But the key here is that the victory was fought for, no holds or words barred. No quarter asked and none given. For we were fighting for the towns very soul and spirit. A group of people joining their various talents, focused on a common goal. But today at the market, the Other Half and i ran into our reinstated city manager….and he told me of how he hung back on his wall the Bill of Rights…now framed. Telling us of how he remembered what I said, and how he has developed a new appreciation for it. And how……it must be preserved for our children.

To hell with your threats, and to hell with politicians who acquiesce to them. I’m not playing that game.

That bears saving for future use.

Funny, I thought the most acceptable loss for this current conflict would be Islam :)

I mean, I’d be pretty choked up, but I think I could live with myself if the Religion of Peace just happened to be removed from the face of the Earth……

But Brian the Sailor is right, if we place a finite value on victory, then someone will always attempt to breach that limit and force surrender. Can you imagine stopping the Nazi’s back in the day with a ‘countdown to capitulation’ timer on the walls of the leaders of the Free World?

What the whiners don’t realize that if you surrender, you become a fucking SLAVE. WTF kind of life is THAT?! To me, life and liberty are meaningless without one another. If you are someone’s slave, and are OK with the arrangement, you are not living, you are existing as despicable filthy mindless cattle. Personally, I’d rather die than accept a “life” like that.

As much as I agree in theory, some of us just are not made for that kind of thing. I’d like to stand up to tyranny, but truth be told, i’m a wimp. That is why I admire military people, they are stronger than I am.

I think it’s a wordplay on Christus? (Latin for Christ.)

That was quite possibly the most succinct response I’ve seen on the so-called “acceptable losses” question, Brian. Just awesome.

I swear that this country would never fucking have the guts to fight wars like WWII today. Vietnam was the turning point where people turned into sheep.

When one faces war to the knife, acceptable losses, it would seem to me, is to be the last man standing. He who dies last, wins.

Or did I miss a memo? You can all rest assured that the Islamo-nazi bastards we face will not stop as long as one of thm is standing.
